Shoot 'Em Up

This movie set to be released in 2006 will star Clive Owen, Monica Bellucci, and Paul Giamanti (so far).

The basic premise is that it is the "Ultimate Action Movie" set up with tons of insane shoot outs. There is even a shoot out set while the guy is delivering a baby. This movie sounds insane.

The plot according to IMDB.com:

A man named Mr. Smith (Owen) delivers a woman's baby during a shootout, and is then called upon to protect the newborn from the army of gunmen.

Oh hell yes. All this needs is some cameos from Arnie, Stallone and Willis just to make it more awesome. Oh, and a shoot out in a special effects studio. And plenty of needless explosions, eg *man opens up can of coke* KABLAMMO!

Heard about this not long ago when reading Bellucci's bio. The man involved is Michael Davis, who directed and wrote 8 Days A Week, 100 Girls, and 100 Women (Girl Fever).

My question is...why Michael Davis? I like the man, but this is sooooooo out of place for him to go from smart gross out comedy to intense action. It'd be like Roger Avary doing a kids flick...

I think this could be real cool. It will most likely one of those mindless action movies, but I love them and hope that it turns out awesome.
