So, how do you make pixel art? I saw a tutorial on pixelfreaks site, but it didn't really go into what program you use to do it. I'm assuming Photoshop?

Pixelfreak uses Paint, I understand. You can use practically anything, as long as you can draw pixel by pixel.

Looking at how the tower is broken down into smaller sections at various points, I'm now starting to wonder if the tower was actually done by a group of artists or by one person.

You mean by taking screenshots of each section and finding out the height in a graphics program like Photoshop? If so, wasn't any need to. I just view each image in my internet browser, and it'll tell me the dimensions of the image itself. No way was I gonna measure the height pixel for pixel; I may had been crazy and bored, but not to that extreme.

Oh and Matzat, your template has just two shades. The one linked to has a small corner face as well as the two sides. Looks better that way IMO.

I've been trying to work on a base for a little while now and I'll be honest, it's a pain in the ass. If I come up with anything good I'll post it, until then if someone else does one we should get this thing rolling.

Eh you don't HAVE TO start at the base. Just make a section if you want. The base and the top can always be made later.

I forgot about this. I might try working on something after the weekend, but things are pretty tight with school these days.

In a perfect world, I'd have tons of free time to mess around with this stuff.
