World Heavyweight Title Match:

Kurt Angle vs Triple H©

Both men lock up and Angle quickly takes Triple H to the canvas with a fireman's carry. Angle just embarassed the Game right out of the starting gate. They lock up and Angle goes behind with a hammerlock before burying his foot into the thigh of Triple H and forcing him down and then flipping over into a headlock. Angle cranks on the hold and Triple H attempts to push off but Angle has a tight grip. Triple H pulls himself up and into the ropes which Angle cleanly breaks. Angle then quickly grabs the arm of Triple H and armdrag. Angle pulls himself up and pulls down the straps. Angle grabs the leg of Triple H and Ankle Lock applied. Angle has the Ankle Lock locked on Triple H. Triple H has the sledgehammer! The crowd boos, as we know what is coming up! Angle is up and he punches Triple H but Triple H jabs the handle into the ribs of Angle before backing up and hitting Angle across the back of the neck with the sledgehammer. Angle falls to his knees, going completely limp. Triple H raises the sledgehammer over his head but decides to toss it when he sees the referee rolling over. That son of a bitch is going to retain his title by use of that damn sledgehammer and that blow may have been the deathblow to the neck of Angle! Triple H covers Angle hooking the leg but Angle kicks out at two and three fourths!

Still some life left in Angle. Triple H rolls to the outside and grabs the sledgehammer. Triple H is going to try and get himself disqualified, so he can hold onto the title. What a cheap tactic! Triple H raises the Sledgehammer but Angle delivers a kick to the groin. Triple H is doubled over and another kick to the groin, as the referee takes the sledgehammer away from Triple H. Angle is up, pounding away at Triple H. Angle hooks Triple H and lifts him up. German Suplex. Angle holds onto Triple H. Another German Suplex. Angle holds onto Triple H, the pain shooting through his neck has got to be killing him and a third German Suplex, releasing this time. Angle Angle is up and he gives the signal. Angle Slam coming up but Triple H drops down and low blow to Angle. Triple H sets up Angle and Pedigree. Angle bounces into the air and Triple H is down. Triple H is slowly crawling over to Angle, that Triple German took a bit out of him. Triple H makes the cover hooking the leg but Angle rolls the shoulder up just before the three count!.

Triple H has a look of shock on his face and he picks up Angle. Sleeperhold applied. Triple H is putting the pressure on the injured neck, attempting to force the chin to dig into the breastbone of Angle. Angle sinks to his knees and the referee checks Angle. The arm drops two and a half times before Angle fights back but Triple H has the hold on too well so instead of trying to break, Angle runs up the buckles, and flips back, bridging backwards. Triple H is not prepared for this unusual tactic, so he is trapped underneath the weight of Angle and Angle scores the pin, capturing the World Heavyweight Title.

Triple H is out to start, of course. New show, same story. Triple H cuts a ranting promo about how the draft was fixed and how he should be sent back to Raw instead of being forced to compete for a brand that is owned by someone's who can't make a dollar even it was handed to him. Triple H says he wants Heyman out here and he wants Heyman out here now. Heyman comes out and says how it is an honor to meet Triple H. Heyman says that Triple H is a big name, a big draw, and Heyman would hate to lose him. Heyman says it will be a whole new chance for Triple H to prove himself and what better way would this be than for Triple H to start from the bottom of the ladder and work his way to the top. Triple H sputters and says if Heyman doesn't trade him back, the least he can do his hand him a WWE World Title Shot. Heyman asks how someone can get something, if they haven't earned it. Heyman says, he is a fair man and he is going to give Triple H a chance to prove himself. Therefore tonight Triple H will be in action and Heyman says that he will be scouting Triple H, to see if he deserves the title shots he requests. Shawn Michaels is out, to explain his actions involving Kurt Angle. Shawn Michaels takes us back to about two months ago on Raw. It was Shawn Michaels against Kurt Angle, winner goes to Wrestlemania to face the World Heavyweight Champion. That night, Shawn Michaels lost to Kurt Angle and that woke up Shawn Michaels. Michaels declares that the Shawn Michaels of 1997 would have beaten Kurt Angle. That Shawn Michaels took no prisoners, he thrived on being controversal but once it came to get it done in the ring, he scored the win, night after night, he was a one man show. Shawn Michaels accuses Angle of hiding behind his Olympic accomplishments and says that "the true fans will cheer the Heartbreak Kid and doesn't hide behind the blind patriotism of America". Shawn Michaels declares that Angle is a fraud and he will expose him for the fraud he is, come Backlash. Michaels would go on but Angle comes out and interrupts him. Angle declares that anyone is a fraud, it would be Shawn Michaels. Kurt Angle suffered a major neck injury but was only out for three months while Shawn Michaels milked a back injury for four years and not only that, "but you faked a knee injury to get out of facing Bret Hart for the title and that makes you the fraud, not me." Big oohs for that and Angles goes further saying that Michaels could not beat a true champion like himself or Bret Hart, and "we all know the fix was in there." Michaels takes the microphone and says that he beat Bret Hart at the end and that's all that matters and he will beat Kurt Angle in the end as well. Angle says that Michaels at Backlash, he will make Michaels tap, for all the careers that he screwed with. Michaels tells Angle, that they don't have to wait until Backlash and Angle takes this invite, rushing to the ring. Punches are traded but Michaels gains the advantage. Superkick is blocked and Ankle Lock is locked on. Angle has the leg of Michaels but Michaels removes his boot and Angle is distracted by this and this allows Michaels to get up and Superkick Kurt Angle from behind. That was right in the back of the head. Shawn Michaels picks up Angle and takes him down with his own version of the Angle Slam. Michaels picks up the World Heavyweight Title Belt and stands over Angle with it. Could this be a sign for Backlash? See you next week.
