Rhyno laid out Goldberg with a series of vicious chairshots. It is also announced that Triple H will defend the WWE Championship against Chris Benoit in a return match from the Great American Bash this week on Smackdown.

WWE Heat 8/1/04: Nick Dinsmore defeated Steven Richards with the German Suplex, Johnny Stamboli and Nunzio defeated Jason Sugarman and Tony Mamaluke when Stamboli pinned Sugarman with the Forgetaboutit, and in the main event, Burchill pinned Kenzo Suzuki after making him submit to a cross armed STF. Also Randy Orton cut a pre-taped promo, talking about the World Heavyweight Title and issued a challenge to Hulk Hogan, promising to kill the biggest legend of them all down the line.

WWE Monday Night Raw Preview 8/2/04

Summerslam is a mere two weeks away and the superstars of Raw are preparing for the premier event of Summer in dramatic fashion, including three titles on the line this Monday.

First, some bad news. Kane will not be able to partipate at Summerslam due to suffering a broken arm. Kane will be out for six weeks and is not too happy about this injury. So, as a result, Summerslam will need a sixth competitor for the Elimination Chamber. All the superstars on Raw will be vying for that spot but the big boss himself, Vince McMahon, will be at Raw this Monday for the huge announcement.

The World Heavyweight Title will be on line for the final time until the chamber at Summerslam. Kurt Angle will be defending his championship against The WWE Interconinental Champion Rey Misterio Jr. Rey has earned this title shot as a result of his victory two weeks ago when he beat Angle in a non-title, Beat the Clock Match. Also, Eric Bischoff has declared that if Rey should become the champion, Rey will be in the Elimination Chamber, while Angle will challenge for the World Tag Team Titles with Hulk Hogan against Evolution. The entire dynamic of Summerslam could be shaken up thirteen days before the event.

Speaking of Hulk Hogan, he will be at Raw this Monday. The Hulkster is looking to make his intentions for Summerslam known and issue the remarks made by Randy Orton last night on Heat. For those who missed that show, Orton has his sights set on Hogan for his list of legends that he has finished off. Orton believes that the Hulkster would be the crown jewel to his collection.

The World Tag Team Titles will also be at stake this Monday and Orton has requested this match in an attempt to eliminate two of his threats for his title conquest in the Elimination Chamber. Batista and John Bradshaw Layfield of Evolution will be defending their World Tag Team Titles against Shawn Michaels and Rob Van Dam. RVD and HBK have had their problems recently but can they get it together and perhaps win the World Tag Team Titles off of Evolution. If they win the belts, Evolution's bout with Rey Jr and Hogan(which could very well turn into Angle and Hogan after tonight) will be non title.

The match was supposed to be at Summerslam, but Gail Kim has requested the match be moved up. As a result, Trish Stratus will receive her Women's Title Shot this Monday on Raw instead of thirteen days later. Gail Kim could very well have a sinister motive in moving this title match upwards, but we will have to wait and find out this Monday.

Also, Eddie Guerrero will face off against the undefeated Burchill. Burchill has his toughest challenge to date against Latino Heat. Eddie may indeed stop Burchill's undefeated streak cold. Raw will be rocking this Monday. Tune in 9 PM Eastern Time on Spike TV

World Tag Team Title Match: Rob Van Dam and Shawn Michaels vs Batista and John Bradshaw Layfield©

WWE Monday Raw 8/2/04

Vince McMahon is in the ring to start. Mr. McMahon goes over the last couple of weeks and the buildup to Summerslam. McMahon mentions for the first time on television that Kane suffered a broken arm and will not be able to compete in the Elimination Chamber, althrough McMahon states that Kane was assaulted in the parking lot with a pipe by a masked man. Smells like a Storyline brewing for Kane's return. Vince McMahon states that the mystery man is on his way tonight, in fact he flew the way from California at Vince's request. However, that will happen later tonight but Vince has two things to discuss. First, the banning of the Ankle Lock. Vince McMahon states this is wrestling and it is time for everyone to be a man, so Mr. McMahon lifts the ban on the Ankle Lock. The crowd cheers as Kurt can use the Ankle Lock once again starting tonight. McMahon also states that he would not put it past Eric Bischoff to sneak Evolution into the cage to help his boy, Randy Orton, his chosen one, win the title at Summerslam so Mr. McMahon has enlisted some help to help enforce law and order at Summerslam and when one cannot find a friend they can count on, then tend to call upon their most dangerous enemy. KEE-RASH. The crowd explodes as HE'S BACK! The Texas Rattlesnake himself, Stone Cold Steve Austin comes out from the back, playing to the crowd. Austin enters the ring and Mr. McMahon offers Austin a handshake but Austin responds by shooting his middle finger upwards, which gains a smirk from Vince. Austin gets on the microphone and talks about that he has been gone since a little after the Royal Rumble but now the Rattlesnake is back and he is more ticked off then ever. Austin promises to dish out Stone Cold Stunners to anyone who crosses him at Summerslam and that will be the Bottom Line. Austin states that when they step into the Chamber, they will be in Stone Cold's world. Austin finishes by faking a kick at Vince and causing Vince to flinch. ("Whats the matter. Thought I was gonna stun you, son."). Austin poses, as the crowd cheers. Austin will referee the Elimination Chamber as part of Summerslam.

Johnny Nitro and Christopher Nowinski vs Val Venis and Lance Storm

Two of Eric Bischoff's lackeys in Nitro and Nowinski come out as the problems between Val Venis and Lance Storm are talked about. A lot of flare ups between Venis and Storm and the final result sees Storm accidentally hitting Venis with a springboard dropkick. Nowinski takes out Storm with a half nelson backbreaker and this allows Nitro to score the pin on Venis. Storm and Venis exchange shoves and this gets really heated between the two.

WWE Women's Title Match:

Trish Stratus vs Gail Kim©

Trish Stratus battered Gail Kim, but Gail Kim seemed to be stalling Trish Stratus for something. During this match, it is announced that JBL, Orton, and Batista of Evolution have been banned from ringside so Gail Kim could not expect any of them. Trish Stratus rocked Gail Kim with a chick kick but the crowd is making some noise. Ric Flair struts out from the back in a three piece suit. The founder of Evolution, along with Smackdown's Triple H, has returned after a few months off of dealing with some personal issues. Flair is also not banned from ringside. Trish seems distracted by Flair's presense and Flair is on the ring apron. He grab's Trish's arm, while he dropped something in the ring. Flair kisses Trish and of course gets smacked for his efforts. Flair falls off the ring apron and turns around, to get punched by Gail Kim. That one punch just waylayed Trish and Gail appears to drop something back down her top. Gail Kim covers and scores the pin as Ric Flair enters the ring, doing a crazy old man dance. The replay shows that Ric Flair slipped Gail Kim a pair of brass knuckles before he distracted Trish.

Winner: Gail Kim(w/a shot with brass knuckles)

Flair and Evolution reunite backstage as Gail Kim looks smug with her championship belt. Flair dubs Gail Kim the female Ric Flair, the dirtiest Player in the Ladies Game. Of course this celebration is cut short when a pissed off Vince McMahon enters the office. Vince declares that the match we just saw was null and void, due to Flair's interference. Mr. McMahon states that Trish Stratus will still have a Women's Championship Shot and will happen at Summerslam. Vince states that if any member of Evolution, including Flair and any other secret members, interferes, he will strip Gail Kim of the title and perhaps of a few other things, on the spot. Vince McMahon says Evolution made a mistake of crossing the boss when Orton hit Vince with the RKO a few weeks ago and now they must pay the price.

Kurt Angle cuts an intense promo about how everyone on Raw is out to get his title and how he still remains standing. Angle says that the Elimination Chamber will be his toughest challenge, as five hungry challengers are attempting to take Angle's championship away from the Olympic Hero's grasp. Angle will fight to his last breath at Summerslam and moves onto Rey Misterio Jr but stating "It's nothing personal Rey, you will just have to tap tonight, it's true, it's true."

William Regal is to the ring with Burchill. Regal states how it is disgusting that a no good punk, of inferior breeding who advocates "lying, cheating, and stealing" is cheered by the fans, when a pure bred athlete such as Mr. Burchill is booed and called despicable things. Regal states that Burchill's shoulders have yet to touch the mat and soon, Burchill will be the first ever British World Heavyweight Champion. Regal says Burchill will remain undefeated tonight, when he scores the biggest victory of his life against Eddie Guerrero.

Burchill(w/William Regal) vs Eddie Guerrero

Eddie Guerrero took it Burchill, gaining a couple of quick two counts before Burchill turned the tide and worked over Eddie Guerrero's back, to prevent the three amigo suplexes. Burchill prepares Eddie for a superplex but Eddie shoves him off and flying clothesline connects. Eddie pounds away at Burchill but cannot pull off the three amigos so he opts for a Tornado DDT but Regal is on the apron and gets slugged off. Burchill swings at Eddie but Eddie ducks and rolling cradle scores a nearfall. Eddie backslides Burchill for another two. Whip into the ropes on Burchill and Eddie goes for a sunset flip but Burchill sits down on Eddie and (with the help from Regal) holds Eddie Guerrero down to score the pin.

Winner: Burchill(by Regal interference)

It's the time you have all been waiting for. The crowd explodes into cheers as Hulk Hogan comes out. Hulk Hogan poses for a few minutes before getting onto business. Hogan states that he was hanging' and bangin' in Venice Beach when he ran into Rey Misterio Jr. Hogan said that Rey told him that he got into a spot of trouble with Evolution and some loud mouth punk named JBL was stating that he was being a Real American. That made Hogan's red and yellow blood boil, as no one is a Real American other then the Hulkster. Hogan states that at Summerslam, Hogan will shut JBL's mouth once and for all when Hulkster and Rey win the tag team title belts from Evolution. Before Hulk can continue, "Evolution is a Mystery" kicks up and out comes Randy Orton, with a smug look on his face. Orton steps into the ring and stares into the face of Hogan, with a cocky smirk. Orton takes the microphone and introduces himself to Hogan as "Randy Orton, Legend Killer, at your service.". Orton states that he has struck down many of legends in his persuit. Why he beat Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Sgt. Slaughter, all former WWE Champions and Orton wants to add Hogan to his collection. Orton offers one chance to Hogan, to be spared. If Hogan would leave Orton's ring and never come back, Orton will not lay out Hogan with the RKO. If Hogan refuses, Orton will add Hogan to his list. Hogan looks at the crowd before spitting in Orton's face. The crowd cheers as Orton wipes the spit from his face, before attempting to grab Hogan. RKO attempt but Hogan shoves off Orton and rocks him with a Big Boot. Orton falls to the outside and Hogan rips off his shirt, posing for the crowd. Orton attempts to get back at Hogan but is held back by security. Hogan has humbled the Legend Killer. Orton vows revenge as we fade out for a Summerslam advertisment.

Segment Rating: 80

Orton is pacing around like a mad man in Eric Bischoff's office. Orton is ranting about "that old man" getting the better of him. Ric Flair is in the background with Orton, echoing the end of every sentence Orton is stating and Orton states that he wants a match with Hulk Hogan, tonight. Bischoff says no go, as Vince McMahon would skin him for giving away such a marquee match on free television with no build up. Flair offers his services for an idea. If Flair beats Hogan next week on Raw, then Orton will get his match with Hogan the night after Summerslam. That way, Bischoff gets a week to build it. Bischoff agrees and next week it will be Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan next week on Raw, with if Flair wins, Orton gets his big match with Hogan the night after Summerslam, August 16th.

Sylvan Grenier vs Edge

Chris Jericho joins us on commentary, cheering on his "good friend" Edge because he wants him fresh for Summerslam when Jericho will prove that he is the better man. In Jericho's words of course. This match is pretty quick, with not much happening. Edge Spears Grenier for the pin but the real fun happens after the match when Chris Jericho slides into the ring and jumps Edge from behind. Jericho pounds away at Edge like a crazed mad man but security manages to pull Jericho off which causes Edge to leap at Jericho. These two men will settle the score at Summerslam as more security comes out to keep both of these men at bay.

Rob Van Dam and Shawn Michaels vs Batista and John Bradshaw Layfield(w/Ric Flair)©

Shawn Michaels got battered by the two tag team champions, taking an intense amount of punishment. Batista connects with the Spinebuster but Michaels barely kicks out. Batista Bomb is countered with a low blow and shoved off. Sweet Chin Music connects but Michaels is too weak to cover but the time it takes Batista to roll to the cover is enough time for RVD to reach into the ring and tag himself in. JBL is in but he is met with an RVD spin kick. Van Dam batters JBL, knocking Batista off the apron with a reverse heel kick and legsweep and Rolling Thunder on JBL for a nearfall. Van Dam sets up JBL and into the corner. Monkey Flip and Twisting Legdrop before Van Dam goes up top but Flair catches Van Dam with a low blow from behind, causing Van Dam to get crotched on the top rope. The referee saw that one and he is disqualifying Evolution. They lose the match, but not the titles. RVD gets pummeled after the match, with Shawn offering no save. Spiked Batista Bomb lays out Van Dam.

Rey Misterio Jr vs Kurt Angle©

Handshake to start and Angle attempts to deck Rey but Rey ducks and then slides through the legs of Angle. Dropkick from behind and Rey attempts to go for a quick 6-1-9 but Angle dodges to the floor. Rey delivers a baseball slide spinning headscissors and whips Angle ribs first into the ring steps. Rey rolls Angle into the ring and springboard thesz press, followed by a second rope double stomp, scoring a two count. Rey pounds away at Angle before whipping him. Rey delivers a leapfrog but appears to blow out his ankle in the process. Rey limps around on his ankle and Angle decides to find an opening, viciously kicking away at the leg. Angle works over the leg, ramming it into the canvas, draping it over the top rope and sitting out on it, stepping on it, and ramming it into the ringpost. Angle delivers a vicious dragon screw and attempts the Ankle Lock but Rey kicks off Angle. Rey swings at Angle but Angle ducks and Rey is hooked. Angle Slam connects to Rey. Angle covers but only scores a two count. Angle batters away at Rey and goes up for the Moonsault but Rey dropkicks Angle from behind and Angle falls crotch first onto the top rope. Rey climbs up behind Angle and leaps on the shoulders. Reverse Top Rope Frankensteiner connects to Angle!. That is how Rey defeated Angle two weeks ago! Rey is slow to cover because of the battered ankle and nearfall. Rey picks up Angle and forearms away in the corner but Rey is stopped cold with a kick to the ankle.

Angle unleashes a pair of overhead belly to belly suplexes before pulling down the straps. Angle grips the ankle of Rey and attempts the Ankle Lock but Rey rolls forward and causes Angle to lose his balance. The champion falls on the middle rope and this knocks the wind out of him. Rey dials it up. 6-1-9. Rey winces because of his ankle hitting but he hobbles to his feet. Angle is up and Rey leaps to the middle of the top rope. West Coast Pop Connects. Rey has Angle held down but at two and three fourths Angle rolls through and slaps on the Ankle Lock. The crowd is doing dueling "let's go Angle, let's go Rey" chants as Rey fights the Ankle Lock and barely makes it to the ropes. Angle looks to be getting frustrated right now and he does not break the hold until the count of four and a half. Angle lifts up Rey and whips him into the corner. Angle charges in but Rey gets the elbow up. Rey leaps to the second rope and attempts a twisting leg lariat but Angle grabs the leg and once again back into the Ankle Lock. Rey fights, so Angle switches the heel hook. Rey deflates, he is trapped with no where to go. Angle cranks on the hold hard, he could very well break Rey's leg with this heel hook. Rey attempts to get out but Angle has a vice like grip so Rey taps out, giving Angle the win. Angle pulls himself up, celebrating his hard fought win. Rey is up, on one ankle and Angle offers his hand, which Rey shakes. A show of respect by two fine wrestlers, after perhaps the best match on Free TV all year.

Eric Bischoff is out with a smug look on his face. Bischoff states that Raw has been a pretty good show but it is about to get better as Bischoff will announce the last competitor in the Elimination Chamber. The man is a member of Evolution. He is the Sixteen Time World Champion. He is Ric F..."No Chance, That's What You Got." Out comes Vince McMahon, power walking to the ring. Vince McMahon enters the ring and snatches the microphone from Bischoff. McMahon asks "who the hell do you think you are" and says Bischoff has no right to pick the final competitor for the Elimination Chamber. Vince states he is the boss, and Bischoff better not cross the boss again. McMahon says Bischoff attempted to stack the deck in Ortons's favor once again, by adding Ric Flair as a ringer but it will not happen under Mr. McMahon's watch. Vince states the the real final competitor for the Elimination Chamber would be a man who has held the WWE Championship multiple times. He is a Hollywood Action Adventure Star and perhaps the most famous wrestler in the WWE today. It is only fitting that he replaces Kane, as he was put on the shelf by Kane for four months due to a vicious beating. Vince states that he will let the music speak for itself. "If You Smelllll What the Rock is Cooking.". The crowd goes electric as the Rock comes to the ring. Bischoff is stunned. The Rock has returned, he is back from the throat injury he suffered at the hands of Kane. The Rock steps into the ring, raising the eyebrow, annoucing that the Rock has indeed comeback. The Rock asks Bischoff how he's doing and before Bischoff responds, The Rock cuts Bischoff off with a "It doesn't matter how you are doing." The "Rocky" chants kick up from the crowd and the Rock vows to step into the Elimation Chamber and lay the Smackdown on five other jabronis. The Rock promises to step out of Summerslam as the World Heavyweight Title if "you smelll what the Rock is cooking." Bischoff attempts to attack the Rock from behind but this is a mistake as the Rock spins around and grabs Bischoff. Rock Bottom Plants Bischoff into the canvas. The Rock bounces off the ropes and People's Elbow driven straight into the heart of Bischoff. Vince McMahon steps on Bischoff like he is nothing and announces that next week, we will have a preview for Summerslam in the Elimination Chamber as The Rock, Eddie Guerrero, and Kurt Angle team up to face off against Rob Van Dam, Shawn Michaels, and Randy Orton in six man tag team action. WWE Smackdown 8/5/04

Summerslam is a mere ten days away and the superstars of Smackdown are preparing for the biggest event of the Summer with a blockbuster championship main event this Thursday on UPN.

At the Great American Bash, Triple H captured his nineth World Title, beating Chris Benoit. Triple H has yet to defend his title and this week, Jim Cornette is forcing Triple H to put the title on the line due to the thirty day rule or Triple H will be stripped of the championship. Triple H has of course agreed to defend the title, considering the consequences. This week on UPN, Chris Benoit will get his obligated return title shot against Triple H. Can Benoit become the champion for the second time or will the Game once again put down the Rapid Wolverine Machine? Plus, an interesting addition. If Benoit walks out with the championship, his match with Brock Lesnar is for the WWE Championship and the Undertaker against Triple H will be a regular match, with the winner getting a title shot at a later date.

On the other end of the championship fence, we have the challenger for Summerslam, in the Undertaker. The Undertaker stalked Triple H and his agent, Stephanie McMahon last week, ending the evening with Tombstoning Stephanie. Stephanie will not be at Smackdown this week, due to the neck injury she suffered via the Tombstone. The Undertaker may be in the building and Triple H would do well to watch his back.

This Week, we will finally see a contender for the United States Title be decided, in a tag team match. Champion John Cena and Booker T will team up against Christian and Sean O' Haire. Whomever gets the pinfall, gets the title shot at Summerslam. If Cena wins, he gets to pick his challenger(only getting to choose from the three other contenders for this match) for Summerslam. High stakes match this week.

Rhyno and Goldberg. The two men are on a collision course for Summerslam. This week, both men will be in singles action, as Goldberg faces off against A-Train and Rhyno will face off against Jame Noble. Cornette has mandated that if either Rhyno or Goldberg interferes in their respective matches, the match at Summerslam is off and they are suspended for ninety days.

Also, Ultimo Dragon has an open contract for the Cruiserweight Title once again this week. Any Cruiserweight in the world is eligible to accept this contract. All this and more on UPN.

Raw and Smackdown Present Summerslam Only on Pay Per View

Elimination Chamber III for the World Heavyweight Title with Special Guest Referee Stone Cold Steve Austin: Rob Van Dam vs Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton vs Eddie Guerrero vs the Rock vs Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle has been fighting the odds for months now. Everyone Eric Bischoff has thrown at Angle, Angle has turned back the challenge and walked out with the World Heavyweight Title but Angle has to defend against five world class challengers. We have Eddie Guerrero, who has been on fire since he has been on Raw. We have Randy Orton, the man who has made it his personal mission, and has declared it his destiny to walk out with the World Heavyweight Title. You cannot count out Rob Van Dam, who won the Beat the Clock Challenge and will enter this match twenty minutes into this bout. Shawn Michaels is hungry for another title reign and let's not forget the Rock, who is only in just for Summerslam tonight but if he wins the title, you have got to believe this may spur a semi-full time schedule in the WWE for the People's Champion. All these elements plus the Texas Rattlesnake himself, Stone Cold Steve Austin refereeing this bout should make for an explosive Summerslam main event.

WWE Championship Match:

The Undertaker vs Triple H©

Ever since Triple H has came on Smackdown, he has been talking trash about the brand and to add even more insult, Triple H has taken the WWE Championship. All these comments have angered the man which many feel to be the heart and soul of Smackdown, the Undertaker. The Undertaker has stalked Triple H week after week, and Triple H seems unable to psyche out the Dead Man. Even Stephanie McMahon, who returned a few weeks ago as Triple H's agent, has ran afoul of the Dead Man, suffering a Tombstone Piledriver a couple of weeks ago on Smackdown. The Undertaker is looking to make sure the belt will be back on the waist of someone who respects the workers of Smackdown but Triple H is a sly dog, he always has a trick or two up his sleeve.

World Tag Team Title Match:

John Bradshaw Layfield and Batista© vs Rey Misterio Jr. and Hulk Hogan

Rey Misterio Jr has ran afoul of Evolution, especially JBL and Batista, who have beaten up Rey two on one, bullying the Interconinental Champion with their overwhelming size. It is natural Rey would need a little help but fortunately for Rey, JBL has a mouth too big for his own good. JBL called himself the only true Real American and a true American Hero. Of couse, this got under the skin of one Hulk Hogan. Hogan agreed to be Rey's Tag Team Partner, in order to shut JBL up, hopefully once and for all but the question remains. Could Hulk Hogan's mind be elsewhere? The reason for that is being Hogan has a match scheduled for tommorow night on Raw against Randy Orton. JBL and Batista have smashed their way through the Raw Tag Team Titles, but perhaps this super powered team of Rey and Hogan can stop Evolution in their tracks.

Brock Lesnar vs Chris Benoit

Finally, we get the rematch from Wrestlemania XX which is five months in the making. Brock Lesnar against Chris Benoit. The last time these two men met, Benoit forced Lesnar to tap out to the Crippler Crossface, which netted Benoit the WWE Championship. Lesnar has been calling that loss a fluke and vows to prove it this Sunday. Benoit doesn't say much but he would love to make Lesnar tap out once again. Add to the fact Lesnar says he will have an "extreme surprise" which will make this match with Benoit "a dangerous situation" for the Canadian Crippler, this match should be one of the most intriguing of the night.

Edge vs Chris Jericho

Jericho has been in a slump. He has lost match after match since Wrestlemania XX and Edge has been drawn right in the middle of this, during his feud with Kane where Jericho attempted to stop his losing fortunes by wrestling a triple threat match with Edge and Kane at Bad Blood but Kane beat both Jericho and Edge and thus Jericho turned his frustrations towards Edge, ambushing him at every turn leading up to this match at Summerslam. The point remains Jericho feels he has to win or his career may never recover.

WWE United States Title Four Way Dance:

Sean O' Haire vs Christian vs Booker T vs John Cena©

Christian and Booker T have been feuding for some time, since back in the Spring of 2003 on Raw and that feud spilled over to Smackdown, eventually becoming a race to become number one contender for the United States Title. James Mitchell added Sean O' Haire into the mix and the three men(Booker, O' Haire, and Christian) squabbled for a title shot until Cena decided to give all three men a title shot. Could this be a mistake? Cena may find out the hard way at Summerslam.

Rhyno vs Bill Goldberg

Goldberg came into Smackdown like a raging tornado, beating everyone in his path, including men such as A-Train and Brock Lesnar. Rhyno got threatened by this, as he feels he is the toughest man on Smackdown and ambushed Goldberg to prove a point but Rhyno may learn a very difficult lesson in not waiting a sleeping monster. Goldberg promised to make Rhyno next. Goldberg is still undefeated on Smackdown and he wants it to remain that way.

WWE Tag Team Title Match:

Hardcore Holly and Billy Gunn vs the World's Greatest Tag Team©

Haas and Benjamin, the World's Greatest Tag Team, gloated about their record and how no tag teams could beat them. Hardcore Holly and Billy Gunn took exception to this and challenged The World's Greatest Tag Team to a non title match. Hardcore and Gunn won this match, and as a result, they are now receiving a Tag Team Title Shot at Summerslam. Can lightning strike twice or will The World's Greatest Tag Team add another team to their winning record as tag team champions?

WWE Women's Title Match:

Trish Stratus vs Gail Kim©

The WWE Women's Champion Gail Kim has defeated all comers but may run into her toughest challenger in Trish Stratus at Summerslam. Evolution will be barred from ringside for this match, due to Ric Flair interfering in a previous Trish/Kim title bout. Gail Kim may be going into this match as the underdog due to lack of Evolution help as Trish hopes to win her fifth Women's Title at Summerslam.

Also, Gail Kim does not look too happy about a new Woman being in Evolution, as she appears to be a threat to her spot as the Women's Champion. Before this can go any further, Vince McMahon enters the dressing room, looking enraged. Vince McMahon states Orton ruined tonight, he ruined it by taking out Hogan. As a result, Mr. McMahon is fining each member of Evolution who partipated in that attack, five thousand dollars." Orton whips out his check book and makes a check. He hands to Vince and Vince wonders why the check is for "forty thousand, as opposed to the twenty thousand which will equal all four members." Orton smacks Vince in the jaw with a punch and Evolution, with the exception of Flair, who is still not too pleased with Orton, are beating down the Boss. Evolution has sunk to new lows. WWE Smackdown 8/19/04

WWE Smackdown is four days removed from Summerslam and six weeks away from the next time we will be on Pay Per View, at No Mercy. The superstars of Smackdown invade your television on UPN, to give you the greatest wrestling action they can only provide.

First up, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman joined forces once again at Summerslam and that move spelled badly for Chris Benoit, who Lesnar beat at Benoit. Benoit took it personal how Lesnar refused to shake his hand and the war between these two is far from over. However, this week on UPN. Lesnar will no doubt be watching as "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit will face off against one half of the Worlds Greatest Tag Team in Shelton Benjamin.

Speaking of the World's Greatest Tag Team, their other half, Charlie Haas will collide against Booker T. Haas is no doubt looking to make an impact, as is his partner Benjamin, when they split up this week in singles action. They want to prove they can excel in the singles ranks, as they have in the tag team ranks.

Last week at Summerslam, Triple H paid the price by getting himself disqualified in his title defense against the Undertaker and suffered a vicious beating at the hands of the Dead Man. Triple H will do what he does best saying a few choice words against the Undertaker. And where Triple H is, the Undertaker should be sure to be not far behind.

Plus, due to the controversy with the United States Title at Summerslam, Jim Cornette is going to be in the house to announce what is being done with the United States Championship which is being held up. We understand John Cena and Christian will be both invited to the ring for this big announcement.

All this and much more this week on UPN's Smackdown.

Confirmed Matches:

Shelton Benjamin vs Chris Benoit

Charlie Haas vs Booker T

Weekend Wrestling Review:

WWE Velocity 8/21/04: The Shane Twins defeated Rico and Maven after Dawn Marie ordered funaki to take the bullet for a Rico spin kick. This allowed the Shane Twins to hit Rico with the Double Penetration to score the pin. Jamie Noble pins Joey Matthews with the Tiger Bomb. Dawn Marie ordered Funaki to face Ultimo Dragon for the WWE Cruiserweight Title. Funaki, despite the concussion, put in a valiant battle but in the end, Ultimo Dragon retained the WWE Cruiserweight Title against Funaki with the Asai DDT. After the match, The Shane Twins held down Funaki so Dawn Marie could whip him with a leather belt and Dragon attempts to make the save but gets beaten down as well. Paul London was once again watching Dragon from the crowd.

WWE Heat 8/22/04: Test pinned Tommy Dreamer with the Big Boot after the FBI distracted Dreamer. Christopher Nowinski and Johnny Nitro defeated the Spanish Announcer's Team when Nowinski pinned Joel Maximo with the Honor Roll. Nick Dinsmore pinned Nunzio with the German Suplex when Dreamer attacked Nunzio on the outside and tossed him into the ring. Regal talks on Burchill's behalf, vowing that he will win the title and in the main event, Burchill made Mark Jindrak submit to the Cross Armed STF.

WWE Monday Night Raw Preview for 8/23/04:

Taboo Tuesday is less than a month away and the superstars of Raw prepare to get ready for Taboo Tuesday. We understand that after Raw, the ballot will be released to the public so they can vote for Taboo Tuesday. However, we need to decide who will be on the ballot for the World Heavyweight Title Challenge Matches.

Six Top Contenders. Three Qualifying Matches. First up, Chris Jericho collides with Edge in a rematch from their encounter eight days ago at Summerslam. Jericho won on that night but Edge is hungry for a World Heavyweight Title Shot. Then again, so is Jericho. Both these men will fight to their last breath to get on the World Heavyweight Title Ballot.

Next up, we have Rey Misterio Jr colliding with Randy Orton. Last week, Orton and his fellow Evolution teammates put Hulk Hogan out of action and Orton is on a roll. Rey is coming off of the loss of the Interconinental Title but if he beats Orton, he has a chance to get voted in to the World Heavyweight Title match. Orton will not go down that easily so this match should be another one to loss.

Third, for the World Heavyweight Title Voting Qualifiers will be Kurt Angle facing off against Shawn Michaels. These guys fought many times on Raw, this being their fourth one on one meeting. Both men are looking to get back into the World Heavyweight Title picture, especially Angle who lost the World Heavyweight Title back at Summerslam and then lost a one on one match to the new champion Eddie Guerrero last week.

Of course, we need to know who the winner of the ballot is facing and we have one final World Heavyweight Title Match before the march to Taboo Tuesday gets hit into full on. Eddie Guerrero will defend his World Heavyweight Title against the undefeated Burchill. A few weeks ago, Burchill pinned Eddie Guerrero. Now Burchill is looking for his first piece of gold in the WWE and what an accomplishment will it be if Burchill becomes the World Heavyweight Champion after being in the WWE for a few months. Also, Eddie Guerrero is less than one hundred percent, due to Burchill working over his arm last week and Eddie having two brutal matches on back to back nights in the Elimination Chamber and the match with Angle.

Also, the WWE Women's Title will be on the line when Gail Kim defends against Victoria. Tune into Raw this Monday for great wrestling action.

Confirmed Matches:

Taboo Tuesday World Heavyweight Title Voting Qualifier: Chris Jericho vs Edge

Taboo Tuesday World Heavyweight Title Voting Qualifier: Randy Orton vs Rey Misterio Jr

Taboo Tuesday World Heavyweight Title Voting Qualifier: Shawn Michaels vs Kurt Angle

World Heavyweight Title Match: Burchill vs Eddie Guerrero©

And in the main event, Maven and Rico scored a major upset over the Dudley Boys when Maven pinned D-Von after a crossbody/schoolyard trip combo. The Dudley Boys assaulted their opponents after the match, putting Maven through a table with a Super Bomb.

WWE Heat 8/29/04: Rob Van Dam pins Chuck Palumbo with the Five Star Frog Splash. Van Dam expressed his displeasure of being left off the Taboo Tuesday and vowed to make an impact on that night, despite being left off the balloting. Van Dam challenged Eddie Guerrero to a future title match. Johnny Stamboli came out, laughing at his partners loss and challenged anyone. Heat Color Commentator Al Snow accepted the challenge. Al Snow pinned Johnny Stamboli in an impromptu Hardcore Match after Chuck Palumbo accidentally hit Stamboli with the Jungle Kick. Matt Bentley calls himself the greatest thing to ever hit Raw and "Mr. Total Non Stop Attitude", before making an open challenge for the Interconinental Title Match. WWE Interconinental Champion Matt Bentley(w/Alexis Laree) pinned Garrison Cade after Alexis distracted Cade and Bentley hit the Impact Zone for the pin. The World Tag Team Champions Batista and John Bradshaw Layfield defeated the Spanish Announcer's Team in the main event when JBL pinned Joel Maximo after Batista hit the Batista Bomb. The Maximos gave Evolution some anxious moments. To end Heat, Eric Bischoff made a special announcement that no titles would be defended between now and Taboo Tuesday. And I would like to add this reminder tovote if you have not already.

WWE Monday Night Raw Preview for 8/30/04

Eddie Guerrero barely survived his World Heavyweight Title Match with Burchill last week and suffered further damage to his already seperated shoulder but a challenge has been issued for Raw and Eddie, despite being injured, will not back done for a fight. Even through the challenge was originally for a World Heavyweight Title Match, Eric Bischoff has since put an injunction on any title matches on Raw between now and Taboo Tuesday. As a result, this Monday, Rob Van Dam, who feels he was spurned on the Taboo Tuesday, will face off against Eddie Guerrero in a non title match. Van Dam wants to make a statement and if he beats Eddie, he could get into the title hunt after Taboo Tuesday.

Kurt Angle and Randy Orton have been at each others throats for the past few weeks and their wars may culminate in the "Fan's Choose the Stipulation" match as part of Taboo Tuesday. Angle and Orton will be at Raw and no doubt if their paths cross, fireworks should go off.

You got JBL, the self proclaimed Real American, one half of the World Tag Team Champions. You have Edge, one of the hottest young superstars on Raw. Add them together and you could have a potential for an explosive singles encounter. Another big match this Monday, which features Edge taking on John Bradshaw Layfield. Edge is looking to get some needed momentum as he goes forward into the World Heavyweight Title balloting for Taboo Tuesday but JBL is fresh off a pinfall victory over Hulk Hogan a few weeks ago at Summerslam, so he would like nothing better than to add to that momentum.

Also, two of the women who are involved in the Taboo Tuesday Women's Title Voting will compete against each other. Trish Stratus will face off against Alexis Laree, who is making her first in ring apperance on Raw. Laree has been stirring up trouble as the valet of the cocky, egotistical, Interconinental Champion, "Mr. Total Non Stop Attitude" Matt Bentley, but we will see if she measures up to the competion in the ring.

Plus Val Venis said last week he is going into directing in the Adult Film Industry, retiring from his starring role in films and will introduce the star of his first film this week. Also: Chris Jericho, Nick Dinsmore, and Burchill will compete in a Triple Threat Match as a small preview for the Interconinental Title Taboo Tuesday Voting. Raw will be on fire once again this week.

Confirmed Matches:

Rob Van Dam vs Eddie Guerrero(Non Title Match)

John Bradshaw Layfield vs Edge

Alexis Laree vs Trish Stratus

Burchill vs Chris Jericho vs Nick Dinsmore
