Is it the referee who decides which player gets the Man of the Match award? If not, then who?

Depends on the game I suppose, theres been occasions where the commentators on TV have chosen it. When I used to watch Leeds I seem to remember in the programmes it would mention the last games man of the match and it said it was decided by the match day sponsors. Plus there's the more unoffical ones like in the papers which will be decided by the reporter at the game.

At Spurs theres a number you can text when your in the crowd to put your vote in , I dunno if they still do it because i cant remember

If its a Sky game, then its usually them who chooses. Otherwise teams either let the sponsors choose or fans text in (as mentioned at Spurs). Thats why an away team player very rarely wins MOTM when not on Sky

Aren't all Prem ones done by a Barclays rep, or just a Premier League official? I don't think Sky pick them themselves. The announced ones on 90 minutes are probably just the PA guy.
