A simple logo

The marketing society at my Uni needs a new logo, they're letting students submit ideas. Quickly knocked up this, was hoping for a little feedback. It's simple, but I don't want anything too complicated.

My negative feedback, would be that the bits at the top kindof make the logo bigger than it needs to be...Like if you stuck that on something there would be empty space around the little bits at the top.

Maybe just edit them and then it'll be good.

I like it except for the light blue font. It looks like it goes from uppercase lettering and shrinks down to lowercase after the i. I know its not the case but with no dot above the i due to the way the graphic looks I think it needs to be modified. Plus the dot in the O doesn't really doesn't fit and takes your eye focus away from the overall graphic to an extent.
