Rooney won't recover. The fastest ever recovery from that injury was Beckham at 9 weeks and even then he wasn't properly fit! Owen took 17 weeks and Neville took 21! Ain't gonna happen unfortunately.

Beattie would do a better job than Crouch at shaking up opposing defences. We always seem to slip into this Crouch/Heskey mentality....This just goes to show how thin our attacking forces really are.

According to the news Rooney has fractured SEVERAL bone sin his foot which will add to the healing time.

I dont see that as more of an additional blow since he's already out and those bones will be healing at the same time as the original break.
