It's good for what it is but it's not amazing. I mean it's better then most people and judging from your current sig you're improving which is a plus. The background is just brushed which bothers me and it's really sharp in some spots. Also the cuts don't really mesh with the image as a whole but I don't think blending the cuts would look good in this case. The text, yeah, it's horrible. Stroke's suck and I would have centered the text. Like I said before, it's good for what it is. Hope you continue improving.

I think the background looks just fine. Doesn't matter if it is brushed or not, you are doing it for fun and it looks fine. The only problems I have with it is the text and the cut on the left. I would have just stuck with the one on the right and then focused on the text. Others may argue about the space that would be left on the left side, but the text may have done better in that spot without the other pic of SMG.

on a whole it is really good. I've never been a fan of the Buffy font , but it works perfectly for this graphic. I've found that with a font like that a stroke might be too much instead maybe a dropshadow . In this instance the stroke isn't too big and fits well.

The background is great. brushed or not it still makes a great background and the cuts are done rather well with good placement.

The thing about the background that got me is the sharp, highly contrasted spots along the bottom...:S

If you're going to use the Buffy font, you might as well just use the Buffy logo. The way you've arranged the text doesn't look right.
