Dynasty Warriors

Okay, so I just wrapped Dynasty Warriors 4 moments ago with Xiahou Dun. I got the game as a Christmas present and didn't think I'd get so into it. Now, I'm wondering, what other Romance of the Three Kingdom games are there? Could someone recommend them for me? I'm mostly interested in ones where I can play as officers and officers have their own story.

Also, you should get Dynasty Warriors 5. Much better game in my opinion.

There's also the new "Samurai Warriors" series, which is also good.

I thought the Samurai Warriors games were a bit too slow for my tastes.

However, you do need to get DW5, and the latest Romance of the Three Kingdoms game. You won't regret it

If ya get DW5, also get the expansion Xtreme Legends. Fanstatic game.

Okay, someone's gonna have to explain what's so good about these dames, preferably in relation to DW4. That or the basic storyline (what you do) dealy.

On another note, are all storylines in Dynasty Warriors 4 the same?

Pretty much all the same apart from the different armies stories, some guys have extra missions like Guan Yu.

Something cool in Dynasty Warriors 5 though is that each officer has their own storylines and own cutscenes and such.

Pretty much all of them follow the same storyline, because it's based off real events (to a degree). However I've only played DW2, 3 and 4 and obviously it expanded as they did, each officer had their own story to follow that sort of span off.

I think I may pick up DW5 for my PS2, since I doubt they'll bring 6 out on the PS2. Can anyone recommend me which is the best of Empires and Xtreme Legends? Or is it just best to stick with DW5.

I love the whole ancient China stuff, used to know a lot of it like the back of my hand - but haven't paid much attention to it all lately - but I love the series.

I'd get XL first. DW5XL re-introduces the CAW (Create-a-Warrior), and lets you take him from soldier to ruler. I'm getting DW5XL in the mail in a day or so (got it off of eBay), and I'll tell you how it is, but it shouldn't differ too much from the original DW5.

I've been playing Samurai Warriors on PSP. A lot of it seems to be "run run run.....oooh slash slash slash slash slash slash slash slash slash slash slash slash slash slash slash special! run run run slash slash slash slash slash"

To be truthful, I probably wouldn't like the games as much as if I hadn't gone and read about the battles on the internet, and the officers etc.

Not to mention theres plenty of games with repetetitive gameplay that are still big hits, DW is one of them.

EDIT: Yeah Sun Ce will be in it, he ruled the Wu kingdom for a while so he'll be there.

Most of the series that I buy everytime around are ones that are reptitive, including this one and the Smackdown series. I mean, what else is there to say about a game that has you wrestling over and over again, just at harder levels etc.

What are the cutscenes like in 5? I really liked how they put them into and improved in 4, I'll always remember;

"What? Hua Xiong has been slain? By whom?"
