The 2007 EWB UFC Predicition League

Today we saw Sylvia, Franklin, Couture, Gurgel, Arlovski, Anderson Silva no showed, Sean Salmon was walking around as well as Teibau, Wes Sims, Shonie Carter, and I think maybe that was it as far as MMA'ers.

Should clearly have thanked Couture for the points.

Managed to watch the show last night on Bravo, thought it was actually one of the better shows I've seen as of late. Hughes looked pretty good, although he never really looked great in my opinion. Franklin on the other hand was very good, great to see him win, couldn't really ever see him walking away with a loss there. Main Event was awesome IMO, Couture outfought Sylvia throughout every single round, from start to finish, honestly shocked me, but made me so happy. I'm one of the people who honestly cant stand Sylvia, never have and I don't think I ever will. Just cant get into the guy, the majority of the time I just find him to be boring to be honest, so him getting his ass handed to him last night was awesome.

Pretty new to UFC really, but Cro Cop against Couture? I'd love it, I'm still hyped to see Cro Cop fighting again, in the back of my head I just cant see anybody stopping him for some reason.

Right, from my figuring out, there isn't another UFC show to predict on until Fight Night 9, which is on April 5th, which is followed up two days later by UFC 69: Shootout and then UFC 70 on the 21st April. So that'll be your next lot of prediction rounds, unless you come over to the non-UFC MMA prediction thread, where we may do K-1 Hero's 8 and some other stuff before PRIDE 34 on the 8th of April.

May I suggest seperate threads for the bigger shows?

UFC Fight Night 9 and 69 should probably be one thread, PRIDE should earn its own. Hero's I think could do without.

Only reason I suggest is for each show there is normally some discussion and after awhile it gets crammed into one thread and such. Just a thought.

And we're back with a B... B.. Bu... Bu... BANG! April is indeed the month where all things could easily change in the EWB UFC Predicition League with three shows crammed into the first three weeks of the month. Lots of points are up for grabs this month as there is a huge number of shows taking place, this month certainly will seperate the men from the boys. This is also the best month to start predicting if you haven't taken part so far, three shows means that with three good results you could easily find yourself amongst the chasing pack by April 22nd and with eight months left in the competition after that it really is anyone's ballgame.

Natural Born Thrilla and ACCBiggz will be looking to cling onto their top spots in the League following their meteoric rise up the table following their prediction results the last time around. The Canadian trio of Cole, Enter Blue Guy and PotatoClassic will be looking to reestablish themselves throughout April and reclaim the top spots in the prediction league. Will anyone else be able to break out of the chasing pack?

Anyway, first up is the UFC Fight Night show on April 5th. As always, you need to predict the winner, the round the fight ends in and the way the match ends. You can choose from KO, TKO, Submission or Decision. Referee stoppage, Doctor's stoppage and other sort of stoppages come under the term TKO. You get ten points for the winner, and five points for both the correct round prediction and the correct prediction for the finish to the match. All fights are over three rounds.
