My brother has a ringtone on his phone he made by recording part of a song off the radio. basically the lyrics go "Smells Like sex and Candy ..." can't determine the rest. there was only one guy singing though. with a rockish vibe. in a way it reminded me of Nickelback.

I've looked online and the only versions I've found is sung by a woman. also according to my brother the song is fairly new.. Anyone have any ideas

There was a cover done by a Canadian band a year or two ago, but I can't remember the band name. They were definitely grunge. Can't remember the name, but if you search hard enough you can find it.

IIRC, the band your thinking of was either members of Marcy Playground, or the lead singer of Marcy Playground. Can't remember which, but the cover was definately done by one of the originals. Of course, that would make them not Canadian, so maybe there was another.
