Mac Games

Recommended Posts

Hey folks. Usually not around in this area, so howdy to the unfamiliars.

I have a MacBook and I'm looking at getting Civilization IV for it. Any other recommendations?

I do know that for me personally, the lack of support from video game developers seems to be the one drawback for Macs.

Couldn't you just use a Windows emulator?

I'm very technologically uninitiated.

I do know what you're talking about - in a sense - but let's say I want to play Sam & Max game or the upcoming Strong Bad game (which are downloads, I believe, and currently only for PC.) Is there a way of doing that with an emulator?

EDIT: Or what about EWR and that sort of thing? I believe those are also just PC right now, right?

The standard FM08 game works on both Windows and Macs (well, it no doubt installs a different Mac version, but it's all on the same disc). It was my salvation during the week where I only had my girlfriend's MacBook available. >_>

Edit: Correction, it was FM07 at the time.

If you use Boot Camp, all you need is a copy of a Windows OS (XP is perfect for gaming) and then you can partition your HD to give you some room for Windows. Then just install and run your games off there. But if you have a macbook, do check and see if you have a good enough graphics card. It's integrated and therefore not fantastic, but it should be able to run your Sam and Max for example.

Do you have a Pro? If so then this (what I quoted) is a good way to go.
