WWF Superstars Results

Show starts with a brief over view of the arena and up to Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby The Brain Hennan. They first talk about the card and Heenan mentions the debut of Arn Anderson. Typical Heenan/Gorilla interaction. We go down to the ring for our first bout.

Marty Janetty makes his way to the ring to a big pop, it was his first match in months, hense the pop. His opponent was in ring and was usual loser Barry Horowitz. Typical squash match. Janetty dominates Barry until it's brief end. Susprisgly Marty used the Rocker Dropper for the win, a move which crippled another jobber and cost the WWF big bucks, wouldn't be susprised if he gets a new one soon. Marty Janetty defeats Barry Horowitz with the Rocker Dropper in 3:11. After the match, Janetty celebrated until WWF Intercontental Champion and arch rival Shawn Michaels ran in and attack him, the 2 began to brawl and Michaels exited. Janetty got a mic and told Michaels that if he was the man he said he was, he'd face him for the title at the Royal Rumble. Michaels, shocked and sorta beaten agreed and we've got a new match for RR. And Comercial Break

We come back to Gorilla and Hennan who briefly talk about what just happen. They then cut to the locker room where Sean Mooney is planning to interview Owen and Bret Hart. Bret talks about how Razor Ramon's total scum and how at the Royal Rumble he's gonna prove why he's the People's Champion. Mooney asks Owen about his match later against the man who attacked him 2 weeks ago in Razor Ramon. Owen says that he's ready and he's gonna show Razor what being a Hart is all about. Back to the ring for our next match.

The Headsrinkers make their way to the ring with Afa to a nice heel pop, out next came their oponnents, Knobs and Sags, The Nasty Boys who recieved an nice pop. Pretty iffy match. The Nastys had control throughout the first minutes of the match but the Shrinkers came back with a vengance. They isolate Sags and the 2 break him down. Knobs is tagged in in dramatic fashion and all 4 brawl. Sags gets KO'ed and they Shrinkers take out Knobs for the win. The Headshrinkers Defeat The Nasty Boys via The Samoan Splash in 5:43. Commercial Break

We come back and our next match is to begin. Already in the ring is the challenger, wily Puerto Rican veteran Carlos Colon, making his WWF debut. His opponent was Skinner. A match where Skinner gets over? Nah. Skinner starts things off in his favor and chokes and punches Colon for most of the bout. However Colon come roaring back with a series of slams, suplexes and headbutts. He unleashes a new move, El Golpe de Bayamon (The Bayamon Blow, Rockbottom) and wins an unexpected one. Carlos Colon beats Skinner in 4:12.

We go to a pre-recorded interview with Ric Flair and Arn Anderson. They're obviously gloating over the job they did to Mr Perfect on Raw, which may keep him out for a few weeks. Flair says that he proved that Perfect was weak and nothing. He said that when Perfect was his "executive consultant" he made Flair look weak and said that he made Flair lose more than ever because of Perfect. He said that Perfect was anything but and that he'll prove it anyday, anytime, that was only if Perfect wouldn't run. He said that because Perfect was causing him to look bad and making life in the WWF hell, he needed the thing. The thing that put him at his best, he needed his best friend and the only man on par with Ric Flair, which was Arn Anderson. He said Arn is the meanest, toughest and one of the most technically sound wrestlers in the world. "I don't need to tell you this, Arn." Arn began speaking. He said that he and Flair have eaten bigger things than Perfect for lunch. He said that Perfect was a joke and he wanted to battle Perfect at the Royal Rumble. Flair laughed and said: "People asked me and Double A here what this (horsemen signal) means. He said that in everysport there's a team that shows absolute excellence. In football it's The Cowboys, in baseball It's the Yankees, in hockey it was Edmonton and in basketball it was the Bulls. "This (signal) means absolutle excellence in the art of professial wrestling, this stands for a group of the best who beat the rest, this stands for The 4 Horsemen. We've got 2 here, come Royal Rumble, you'll know the rest hahaha." Wowee commercial time and ME Next.

Main Event Time: Razor Ramon came to the ring to the biggest heel heat of the night. Owen Hart came out to a big pop and the match was underway. Razor thew Owen around early, mocking him. Owen began fighting back with dropkicks and took Ramon down with an aray of slams. Owen was in control and kept it that way for 3 mins. Razor came back with a cheap shot and dominated Owen with power moves including the fall away slam and the top rope back suplex. Razor hit the Raazor's Edge and things were over and Razor pinned but pulled Owen up and hit him with The Edge 2 more times and then mercifully ended it. Razor Ramon beats Owen Hart at 13:01 after the Razor's Edge. After the match Razor celebrated while Owen was out cold. Razor began to put the boots to Owen and went out of the ring and got a steel chair and preceded to beat down the "Rocket" with chair shots over the back and a big one on the head, which busted him open. Then WWF Champ and Owen's brother Bret Hart ran in and Razor slided out. Bret looked over and helped the fallen Owen and stared at Ramon in contempt while Razor was all smiles in the entrance way and shouted "You're Next" at Bret, to end WWF Superstars.

WWF Monday Night Raw Report: January 11, 1993

The show once again opens to a shot of the Manhattan Center, who are very excited, and cut to MNR's announcing team of Vince McMahon, "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Imus In The Morning's own Rob Barlett. Word is that unless tonight he's great, Barlett's gone. Vince hypes the card, manily the Bret-Shango match, the Michaels-Janetty match and the debuts of Arn Anderson and Bobby Heenan's Narcissist. Savage mentions the other matches and Barlett bombs in his opening line. He's gone. Down we go for our opening bout.

Bam Bam Bigelow makes his way down to the ring with Luna to a nice heel opponent. His opponent, Steven Doll is already in the ring and are match has begun. Total squash here. Doll gets about 0 offense in and falls to the Bam Bam Man. Bam Bam Bigelow defeats Steven Doll via Nuclear Splash at 3:35. Post match Luna and Bam Bam begin to put the boots to Doll. All of a sudden the Big Effing Boss Man runs down the ring and chases both out. BBM grabs a mic and tells Bam Bam that he broke the law during his short tenure in the WWF (pre diary he beat the crap out of jobbers in late 93) and that he'll face Hard Time at the Royal Rumble. New Mathc Signed kids.

We go backstage to Mene Gene who's with Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Gene's asking him about his match with Yokozuna tonight. Hacksaw speaks of Yoko not being knocked down and that he's gonna knock hi down tonight cause that's what Hacksaw Jim Duggan does. Hacksaw says he's gonna beat up Yoko for the good ole USA. Tough Guy!!!

We go back to the arena, Vince makes a brief mention of Duggan and we go to the ring for bout numero dos. In the ring is Damien Demento, his opponent, Tatanka, enters to a great pop. Basic semi squash here. Demento gets some early offense in but Tatanka comes roaring back. He whips double D into the rops and blamo to beat the weirdo with little at most difficulty. Tatanka beats Damien Demento via End Of The Trail at 4:21 Break Time!

We comeback to MNR with the Natural Diasters already in the ring to a nice pop, awaiting the arrival of WWF Tag Champs Money Inc. The Inc make their way to the ring to a big heel pop. Basic match here. Diasters get the upper hand early by beating down IRS. IRS comes back and he and Dibase work over an hurt Typhoon. Double clothesline, DIbase tags in IRS, Typhoon tags in Quake and all 4 men begin a rumblin'. Typhoon gets knocked out of the ring and Quake is fighting both members of the Inc. IRS distracts the referee and the Million Dollar man grabs their steel briefcase and cracks it over the head of Earthquake and gets the pin. A very nefarious win. WWF Tag Team Champions Money Inc defeat The Natural Diasters via Ted Dibase briefcase blow and pin on Earthquake at 7:56. We cut to commercials.

Back to MNR and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan is in the ring, which is adorned with blue and white fabric over the ring ropes and 2 big mirrors in the ring. Heenan begins to talk. "For the past 2 months, I've told you humanoids that I have found a man with no flaws, a man above men. A man who's phisique puts the rest of the WWF's to shame and has all the attributes of the greatest wrestlers of all time rolled into one. A man who, unlike some people who are on the shelf right now because of Ric Flair and Arn Anderson, is absolutly perfect. And folks tonight is the night that's gonna make history because right here, right now I am going to unvail the future, The Narcisst. So get everyone into the room, call Aunt Gladys and tell her to tune on Raw and wheel Grandma down from the attic because this is big news. Ok Ok, no more hype, ladies and gentlemen I present to you..."The Narcisst" LEX LUGER!!!" Luger, in an blue, triangarly robe makes his way to the ring to a mixed reaction. Luger, because he's a Narcisst, one who loves themself, loves him some mirrors and basically takes his rope off and flexes his muscles and shows off his phisique as Heenan make homoerotic squeals to the phisique. Weird? Yes. Luger then gets the mic and says that if he thinks that only his body's perfect, you have to see him in the ring. And he says that you'll see that first hand because he's entering the Royal Rumble. Then more flexing and we go to Mene Gene in the Royal Rumble control center.

Gene hypes the Rumble, which is 2 weeks away live Sunday January 24 from the Arco Arena in Sacramento, CA. He begins hype. He first hypes the 3 new RR matches announced. The first is a Number One Contenders for the WWF Tag Team Titles Match as The Steiner Brothers battle The Beverly Brothers. The second is the just signed Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Big Boss Man. The third and final bout is the WWF Intercontental Title Match as champion "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels batlles former partner Marty Janetty. Gene shows a package of the hatred between the 2 and dives deeper as he ponders which side Sensation Sherri will be on. He again hypes the "Main Event" which will be the WWF Champion Bret "Hitman" Hart defending his crown against "The Bad Guy" Razor Ramon. Then he gets to the real Main Event, the Royal Rumble match. He says that 5 more superstars have been added to the Royal Rumble match. They are: Arn Anderson, "The Narcisst" Lex Luger, Earthquake, Typhoon and Owen Hart. Gene again said more was to be announced in the comming weeks and said to watch the WWF Television Network for info. Comercial break

We come back to the ring and Vince mentions that our next bout is the Winner Chooses The Stipulation match, where the winner will choose the stipulation in their RR match. WWF Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels makes his way to the ring to a big heel pop. Marty Janetty enters to a huge ovation and the match is under way. Great match here. The 2 wrestlers kept the match very even throughout. Michaels got an early lead on Janetty but Marty came roaring back until a Michaels low blow and subsequint submission work over. Janetty came back striking Michaels with various punches and dropkicks. Janetty tried for the Rocker Dropper but Michaels reversed it and hit Marty with the back suplex. Shawn went for a cover but to no avail. Michaels went for the superkick but Marty ducked and hit a big roll up for the upset. Marty Janetty defeats Shawn Michaels via inside cradle at 12:57. Michaels took his belt and left. Jametty got a mic and announced the stipulation he chose was a No DQ/No Countout match because he knew Shawn would try to run or try to get himself DQed because he wants to keep the belt. Very Interesting. Cut to Vince who's talks that match's importance and junk. He then says he has a special announcement, which is demonstrated on screen in a video.

Video Hype Time: Various American symbols are shown (bald eagle, Mt Rushmore, ect). Then "Real American" hits and various old Hulk Hogan clips are shown. Then the man himself, Hulk Hogan is on screen and says the legendary "Next Week The Hulkster's Back Brother, whatcha gonna do Monday Night Raw when Hulkamania Runs Wild On You?!!!" Hogan's back next week. Yay? Comercials

Back to the ring, random jobber Rich Myers is in the ring. Suddnely an Horsemen esq song hits and out comes Arn Anderson along with Ric Flair to gigantic boos. Nice squash here, all to get Double A over. Dub A sends Myers into the ropes and, ouch, that looked like he's paralyzedArn Anderson defeats Rich Myers via the Anderson Spinebuster at 3:41 Flair and Double A celebrate. Suddenly a familar voice is played over the Manhattan Center's PA. It's Mr Perfect. Perfect indicates Arn and Flair hurt him bad and his doctors said he can't wrestler, but he's back come Royal Rumble and if either one of Flair or Anderson has the guts, they'll face him. Arn takes the mic and accepts, saying if beating him in a match is as easy as it was last week, the Rumble's gonna be a breeze. Oooh. Boy. Cut to video Hype.

A video is aired of Japanese sites and culture (ninjas, samuaris and Mount Fuji) Then we see a collage of footage of Japanese wrestling. A dragon is shown once again and text is shown saying The Great Muta: Coming At The Royal Rumble. Wowwee.

Back to the ring, Hacksaw Jim Duggan comes to the ring to a great pop. Out next is his opponent The 500 pound monster Yokozuna along with manager Mr. Fuji enter the ring and we're underway. Sorta squash here. Dugan starts off trying to KO Yoo with punches and clotheslines. He staggers him and attemps to slam him, which hurts his back. Yoko beats the christ out of ole Hacksaw for 4 minutes and the end is near. Lands a belly to belly suplex, drops the big legdrop and drags him to the corner. You know what happens next. BAM! Yokozuna defeats Hacksaw Jim Duggan via Banzai Drop at 7:11. Post match Yoko lands the Banzai drop 2 more times on Duggan, even more making him the anti USA heel. Cut to a pre recorded interview.

Harvey Effing Whippleman is on screen. He says that every opponent he's thrown at the Undertaker, he's demolished. Kamala, Mr Hughes, ect. He says now, he's found a man who's bigger and stronger than the Deadman and will not only end his career, but will end his LIFE. Jesus that's harsh. He then tells Taker to watch his back at the Rumble. Comercial break. Main Event Next!!

Main Event Time BayBah!! The evil vodoo man Papa Shango enters to a ok heel reaction. His opponent, WWF Champion Bret Hart enters to a giant face pop, biggest of the night. Shango gets some early offense but not alot. Bret comes back and basically beats the crap out of Shango and wraps him up in the Sharpshooter and tappy time. Bret Hart defeats Papa Shango via Sharpshooter at 4:32. Post match Bret celebrates until a man jumps the baracade and attacks Bret. That man was Bret's opponent at the Rumble, Razor Ramon. Bah Gawd the feud never ends.

Good show. I wish Damien Demento wasnt a jobber. I like how you are building up to RR, with the actual matches from RR93 but a little extra thrown in here and there. I wonder if Luger will be a member of the 4 Horsemen?

Confirmed: Roddy Piper To Return To WWF

Our WWF Insiders have confirmed to PWI Weekly thatearly Wednsday morning, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper signed a contract to return to his old stomping grounds, the World Wrestling Federation. This comes as a susprise to many wrestling insiders who, as of the day Piper signed with the WWF, were certain that Piper was going to/had already sign with the WWF's competor World Championship Wrestling. The details of the contract aren't known yet but apparently it may give Piper hosting duties of a future WWF show, proably the rumored "Saturday Night Slamfest" where Piper would announce with former WWF announcer and "Tag Team" Costar Jesse Ventura. Once again that is not confirmed. Where and when Piper will return is uncertain. Some claim Piper may make an apperance on this Monday's edition of Monday Night Raw while others suggest he might make an apperance at the Royal Rumble, even compete in the actual Rumble match. Some even claim Piper will be the 4th Horseman in the WWF's revamped 4 Horsemen line up of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and proable Lex Luger.

In Other WWF News: The Hollywood Blondes have confirmed they have been contacted by the WWF. Also, due to the Superbowl coverage, WWF Superstars won't be seen this week. And finally, due to his poor performance and overall unpopularity by WWF fans, the WWF have fired announcer Rob Barlett. A new lineup will be seen on the upcoming Monday Night Raw.

SuperBrawl Main Event(s) Announced

For those of you who did not tune into WCW Saturday Night this week, you missed the announcement of 2 gigantic main events for WCW SuperBrawl 3 held next month in Ashville, NC. The first and expected main event will be for the WCW World Title as Champion Big Van Vader battles arch rival Sting in a leather strap match donned "The White Castle Of Fear Match". The other is a gigantic battle 2 years in the making as long time rivals Rick Rude and The Warrior will collide in a bout for the NWA World Title. Both of these matches will make SuperBrawl 3 an event to see.

Smokey Mountain Wrestling To Close

Tenessee based Smokey Mountain Wrestling, owned by Jim Cornette, may be on it's final legs. The promotion is reportly losing more money then it's making and may shut it's doors by the end of the month. Word is that Cornette, who recently signed with the WWF, is trying to work out a deal where the WWF would Purchase SMW and have it run as a "minor league" for the WWF, where wrestlers would devolp their skills before coming to the WWF. More on this as we get it.

WWF To Hold Feburary PPV

It has been confirmed that the WWF will hold a special PPV event in the month of Feburary as a prep to Wrestlemania. We know the event will take in Madison Square Garden in New York City. The event's schuelded name is "The Main Event: Road To Wrestlemania", but this may change due to the WWF's Headlock on Hunger tour/charity where money from WWF shows will go to the American Red Cross to benefit those in empovrished Somilla. A WWF Employee claims the event may become a "Grand Finale" to the HoH tour where a check will be given to ARC offices in NYC. More on this in next week's edition.

1993 WWF Royal Rumble Results

The "broadcast" opens with the classic WWF Countdown show 30 mins before we start the actual PPV. This time Vince McMahon, Sean Mooney and Todd Petengil are you preview team. They basically ran through the entire card and hyped everything. They announced that the Crush/Doink match was canned due to an injury to Crush. The one odd thing they were talking of was a "big susprise". No clue folks. Well it's 30 minutes and we're done and down to the arena to Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan. They have their usual banter and we go down ringside for match 1.

Beverly Brothers make their way to the ring to a nice heel pop. Out come the Steiners to a big pop. Pretty basic sea saw/classic WWF tag team bout. Steiners get the early advantage, Beverlys fudge up Rick for a while, Scott's tagged in and 2 minutes later we're done. That's how this went. Steiner Brothers defeat the Beverly Brothers at 7:34 via Frakensteiner on Beau Beverly. Steiners are numero 1 contenders now. Now we got to Sean Mooney who's with Big Bossman.

Boss Man gives a quick interview about Bam Bam Bigelow about how he's gonna serve hard time. Sounds gay but whatever. Back to ringside.

Bam Bam faces Boss Man here in this crap fest. I'm not gonna boar you with a descrpition of this, just know lots of punches are thrown and not too much technical moves. Seems like Bam Bam may get a push. Bam Bam Bigelow defeats Big Boss Man at 5:49 vis the Nuclear Splash

Up next is the WWF debut of the Great Muta against Virgil. Virgil entered first to a small pop. Muta entered in his WCW guarb and his actual New Japan music to an mixed reaction. Total squash here. Muta beat the poop out of Virgil with strong offense via kicks, chops and some high flying moves. He beat Virgil very convincly here. The Great Muta defeated Virgil at 5:21 via Moonsault Press. Nice

IC title bout comes up next with a no count out/no dq rule. Nice bout here. Very evenly match both are, but Shawn looked alot better. No outside fights or stuff like that, making the stipulation seem dumb. Sherri came back here and the announcers speculated on who's side she was on. Towards the end we have a ref bump. Shawn looks to have control while Marty begins to rise. Sherri enters, takes off her shoe and swings at Shawn!!! Too bad Shawn ducked and it hit Marty out cold. Shawn made the cover and the win. WWF Intercontental Champion Shawn Michaels defeats Marty Janetty at 11:12 after a shoe shot gone awry by Sensational Sherri. Post match Shawn laughs at a dejected Sherri and thanks her for the win. Looks like Shawn needs a new valet. Wouldn't be shocked if Missy Hyatt shows up soon.

Anderson/Perfect up next. Arn makes his way to the ring with Ric Flair right behind him. I smell schannagans. Perfect comes out with a mic and tells Arn and FLair he figured they'd both come out, so he got someone to watch his back, some one they both know well, someone who's not afraid to fight. The bagpipes hit and a returning Roddy Piper entered the arena to a thunderous applause. Arn and Ric bail out to the outside of the ring. The match begins and is pretty even. Both men wrestle a great technical bout. Towards the end of the match there's yet another ref bump and Ric runs in and Arn and Flair double team Perfect. Piper makes the save, knocked Flair to the outside and locks the Sleeper on Arn, who goes beddybye. Perfect makes an easy pin and the crowd loses it. Mr Perfect defeats Arn Anderson at 13:42 after a Roddy Piper Sleeper Hold on Arn. Post match Perfect and Piper celebrate as Arn and Flair are mad. Suddenly the sound of an old time movie reel hits and the video screen shows the message "Your Brush Has Just Began" then goes black and we hear the phrase "Cut and Print!". Zoom back to a confused Piper and Perfect and a laughing Arn and Flair. Very Interesting.

World Title match is next but first a Wrestlemania commercial. Hypes the event and the city of Vegas basically. Back ringside as the 2 menmake their entrance. Razor enters to a big heel pop while Bret enters to the 2nd biggest pop of the night. Nice bout here. Razor overpowers Bret early, makingn him more heelish. The bout is very strong into the 15th minute. Razor tries for the Razor's Edge out of the corner but Bret kicks the turnbuckle and rolls over Ramon's head and hits Razor with a hard left. Match continues for a few more minutes, with Razor making a comeback and locking Bret in a figure four leglock. Bret reverses it and the end IS here. Nice victory for Bret Hart. WWF Champion Bret "Hitman" Har defeats Razor Ramon at 18:24 via the Sharpshooter. That's done and it's Rumble time but first we see all but one Rumble combatant (the mystery one) speak on how they're gonna win it. Yep.

Down we go to ringside to Hoawrd Finkle who intrudces up to Julius Casesar and Cleoptra from Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas who basically plug the hotel and WM. They leave thankfully and Fink explains the rules. "Lets all find out who drew number one!!!" Jerry Lawler makes his way to the ring and he is number one. He enters anf takes the mic from Hoawrd. He starts shouting about how he's gonna beat everyone one and how he's afraid of no one or nothing and gives the mic back to Fink. "Lets all find out who drew number two!!!" Some old music hits and the crowd goes nuts. The Returning.....Jake "The Snake" Roberts, fresh from a sucessful rehab stint makes his way to the ring. Lawler is laughing at Jake. Jake looks at the crowd, nods, opens up the bag and slides himself and Damien into the ring and Lawler loses it and hops over the top rope, eliminating him. (Elimination One). Jake laughs and awaits entrant tres which is The Berzerker. He and Jake trade punches until entrant 4 Rick Martel enters. Martel goes right for Jake and Martel and Berk doubleteam Roberts until entrant 5 Bob Backlund enters. Berk runs with a full head of steam at Bob, who ducks and Berk runs up and over. (Elimination 2). Entrant 6 is Damien Demento. Demento and Backlund clash as Martel and Roberts continue. Entrant 7 is Ric Flair who enters to a big heel pop. He helps out Martel with Jake but Jake fights back with snap jabs on both. Entrant 8 is Carlos Colon. Colon goes right for Flair, which garners a big pop and floors Flair with a big leaping headbutt. Entrant 9 is Papa Shango who begins to rough up Bob Backlund with Damien. Shango and Demento both try to eliminate Backlund but Ric Flair comes over and tries to "help" and ends up pushing both Demento and Shango over the top. (Eliminations 3 and 4). Entrant 10 is Fatu Fatu hits everyone. Entrant 11 is Tommy Rich who helps Flair beat on Backlund before taking a few punches at his old rival himself. Entrant 12 is Jery Sags who goes after Fatu. Colon and Backlund are now teaming up to battle Flair and Rich while Jake and Matrel are STILL at it. Jeeze. Entrant 13 is Typhoon. Nothing much here. Entrant 14 is Mr Perfect who gets a huge pop and immeditly goes for Flair. The trade punches and Perfect eliminates an angry Flair (Elimination 5). Entrant 15 is Samu The Headshrinkers combined to eliminate Sags (Elimination 6) and with Rich and Colon's help eliminate Typhoon (Elimination 7). Entrant 16 is The Undertaker who gets a huge pop. Let the eliminations begin. Taker, in order throws out, Tommy Rich, Martel, Both Headshrinkers and Colon (Eliminations 8-12). And the Deadman got a gigantic pop. Entrant 17 is IRS who goes to Perfect. Suddenly a Giant man with Harvey Whippleman enters the ring and beats the crap out of the Undertaker, eliminating him in the process (Elimination 13). After he's thrown out he continues to beat the Taker out cold and agents come out to break it up. Whippleman calls the giant "Giant Gonzales" as they're escorted backstage. Entrant 18 is Brian Knobs who goes after Roberts. Entrant 19 is Earthquake who begins to work on IRS. Entrant 20 is Ted Dibase who helps IRS with Quake. Entrant 21 is Kamala who goes after Dibase and IRS. Entrant 22 is Repo Man who does nothing. Entrant 23 is Lex Luger who immeditly eliminates Mr Perfect (Elimination 14). Entrant 24 is Owen Hart who goes for Lex Luger. Entrant 25 is Tatanka who battles Luger. Entrant 26 is Yokozuna who begins eliminating quick. First he throws out Tatanka (Elimination 15) then throws Knobs out of the ring (Elimination 16) Kamala comes at Yoko next but after a few chops misses a running clothesline and falls out (Elimination 17). Entrant 27 is Hacksaw Jim Duggan who takes it to Yoko. He then gets everyone else to try and throw Yoko out. To no avail. Yoko heaves out Backlund (Elimination 18). Entrant 28 is Randy Savage who runs to and eliminates Repo Man (Elimination 19). Entrant 29 is Arn Anderson who goes after Savage. Yoko and Earthquake battle Sumo styles. After 2 avalances by Quake to Yoko, he misses the third and is suplexed out by Yoko (elimination 20). The final entrant was, naturally, Hulk Hogan who got the pop of the night. Immeditly Hogan eliminated both members of Money Inc (Eliminations 21 & 22). Owen was bundelled out next by Lex Luger (elimination 23). Meanwhile, Jake Roberts broke the Rumble record for longest time in. Roberts eliminated Brian Knobs next to a good pop (Elimination 24). Arn Anderson and Randy Savage battled near the ropes, only to have Lex Luger dropkick them both out (Eliminations 25 and 26). It's now down to the final four: Yokozuna, Hulk Hogan, Lex Luger and Jake Roberts. Roberts battles Yoko as Luger and Hogan clash. After a few mins of battle, Yoko back kicks Roberts out (Elimination 27). Roberts gets a standing ovation. Yoko and Lex work on Hogan, who powers back. Hogan clotheslines Lugar out to a gigantic pop (Elimination 28). Hogan tries to clothesline Yoko out but Luger hits Hogan in the back of the head with his loaded forearm. Yoko then clotheslines Hogan out for an unexpected win!!! (Elimination 29) Yokozuna wins the 1993 Royal Rumble at 1:23:57, last eliminating Hulk Hogan. The crowd was shocked to see Yoko win, who celebrated with Mr Fuji. Lugar looked happy by knocking out Hogan as he left. Hogan left befor Yoko to a big pop, while Yoko celebrated. Then Julius Caesar and Cleopatra entered the ring and read him a proclamation about his title shout at WM and such. Yoko , Fuji and the Vegas folk all leave together as we show stills of the card. After the show is "over" we see Yoko posing for pictures then Bret Hart appearing and saying something too him. The cameramen then all run to the right where Hulk Hogan and Lex Luger are being held back from each other. Bah Gawdness.

woof, first big event done. Whaddya think guys?

Nice show! I wasnt really expecting Yoko to win here. I liked Piper's appeareance and the brewing Hogan/Luger feud. Liked seeing Jake the Snake return too, but I hope he turns heel.

PS- Who won the prediction contest?

Royal Rumble Wrap Up: Yokozuna/Hart At Wrestlemania

Well last night saw the WWF put on it's annual Royal Rumble and it was one to remember. In a very unexpected victory, 500 pound Yokozuna won the 30 man Royal Rumble match, last eliminating Hulk Hogan. Yokozuna is seemingly going to become the promotion's top or second top heel. He eliminated a Rumble record 7 men and entered at a reletivly low 26th. Hogan was eliminated after Lex Luger, who made his in ring debut and was eliminated by Hogan, hit him in the back of the head with his surgically repaired forearm. That will definetly set up a Hogan/Luger feud which many will want to see. Another big story of the Rumble was the debut of Giant Gonzales, who maimed and eliminated the Undertaker from the Rumble. GG, led by Harvey Whippleman, stands near 8 feet tall and completly overpowered the 'Taker. A series of bouts between these two are currently being schuelded. The final story of note in the Rumble match was the return of Jake "The Snake" Roberts. Word was Roberts was to debut as a heel but the crowd reception, one of the largest of the night, changed those plans. Roberts looked to be in fantastic shape and broke a Royal Rumble record, lasting 1 hour and 5 minutes. Roberts is rumored to feud with jobber Damien Demento. But news didn't stop at the Rumble match. Bret Hart defeated Razor Ramon in a great bout. Apparently that feud is done with Bret to battle Yokozuna. Expect Razor to possible feud with Tatanka. Arn Anderson and Mr Perfect wrestled the match of the night and made the 2 biggest news stories of the night. First was the return of Roddy Piper, who will apparently aide Perfect with his battle with the Horsemen. The match also was the first hint of the impending WWF debut of the Hollywood Blondes, who will apparently be the final 2 Horsemen. This shocks WWF insiders who were sure that Lex Luger and Rick Martel were the final 2. But due to Luger's feud with Hogan and a possible Martel push changed those plans. The night also saw the debut of the Great Muta who soundly defeated Virgil and the Steiner Brothers begin their Tag Title accension. The feud between the former Rockers looks to be one that will expand over the next few months. Finally Bam Bam Bigelow reportly suffered a damanged ribcage after his bout with the Big Boss Man. He will reportly take the next few weeks off. So as the Rumble fades, Wrestlemania 9 begins to take shape, and with the way things are going, WM9 may be the best ever.
