Don King: Prizefighter

Just took around and used the search function as well, I noticed that it hasn't been mentioned on the board.

I am a fan of Boxing, but I have never really got into playing video game versions of it. I have played Knockout Kings, also Fight Night at a friends house and was never really that blown away by them, until I began to play Prizefighter

I found the controls very easy to use on Prizefighter, it took a while to get used them and then I was away in my merry own little world with the game.

The career mode has kept me sucked into the game, also the classic fights are a welcome addition to play as well.

The roster looks like this:

Heavyweight

Andrew Golota

Samuel Peter

Sergei Liakhovich

Shannon Briggs

Joe Louis

Ken Norton

Larry Holmes

Rocky Marciano

Floyd Patterson

Cruiserweight

Chad Dawson

Enzo Maccarinelli

O'Neil Bell

Steve Cunningham

Archie Moore

James Braddock

Max Baer

Middleweight

Kelly Pavlik

Arthur Abraham

Daniel Santos

Edison Miranda

Joe Calzaghe

Ricardo Mayorga

Roman Karmazin

Chris Eubank

Nigel Benn

Welterweight

Andre Berto

Ivan Kirpa

Jose Luis Castillo

Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr.

Luis Collazo

Lightweight

Joan Guzman

Joel Casamayor

Juan Diaz

Julio Diaz

Nate Campbell

Featherweight

Chris John

Daniel Ponce de Leon

Elio Rojas

Juan Manuel Marquez

Vic Darchinyan

I know it has got a mixed reception by some fans, but I for one have enjoyed playing this game at the moment.

It's not that good of a boxing game once you figure out how easy it is to win. The opponent AI is not very good either and there are clipping issues where head shots land like body shots and stuff. The career mode is good though, I enjoyed the storyline and the FMV segments. Some of the training games were fun too.

It is a quick game though and I got a little bit of fun out of it. Once you've played 8 - 10 fights though, the see how repetitive the AI is and you figure out the surefire way to victory.
