PAC/NTSC Question.

So if I were to order Final Fantasy VIII from Amazon, it being the NTSC version... would it work in a Playstation 1 (Australian so PAL) that is chipped/modded/whatever you wanna call it?

EDIT: And now I realize I wrote PAC instead of PAL... >_>.

I'm pretty sure the main purpose of chipped PS machines is to get it to play discs from other countries.

People in the UK chipped theirs to play Japanese and American imports and they're NTSC compared to the British PAL.
