So What's Cool in Metal nowadays?

This is a terrible thread to place this in, but since this is partly a recommendation, when's the new Machine Head coming out? I need more shouty shit in that vein and while Mastodon is a great technical band, that ain't my bag in any way.

Last I heard it won't be until probably 2011, as they are touring for the next year or so and won't be able to make it to the studio for recording until late 2010.

I'm suprised no-one has mentioned Gallows or Suicide Silence yet; they both seem to be favourites of alot of my friends who are more into metal than me, although Gallows' new album is a bit shit compared to their first.

Another band who I'm really into at the moment are Brides, a young band from Brighton who've just released their first album, which is awesome, and played Download for the first time.

Devin Townsend. Simply Devin Townsend.

That man can create a musical masterpiece out of the sound of a man struggling with constipation.

THIS.

Oh, and also, Lamb Of God. Their two latest albums (Sacrament & Wrath) have been absolutely mindblowing, and they are a phenomenal live band.
