Like most comic book stars, Popeye! The Sailor Man is looking good for his age. The aging, spinach eating hero turns 75 today.

The character was created by Elzie Segar and made his debut in 1929.

Residents of Elzie Segar hometime of Chester, USA believe that the characters Popeye, Olive Oyl and Wimpy were all based on people that he met in the town.

ignorance just can't manage to stay away on this board can it. Why not send him to fight the ones in Ireland? South America? How about we use him to get rid of the hundreds of murders that happen daily right here in the US of A.
