  1. I heard $40 million guaranteed.
  2. It wouldn't have made a difference, unfortunately. Since Cleveland claimed him he was either gonna become an Indian or stay a Twin. The only way the Phillies would have gotten him is if Minnesota released Thome outright and he signed a contract.
  3. He was in Gangs of New York. No idea what his name is.
  4. Colts sign Kerry Collins as Peyton Manning insurance. Interesting. I kinda want to see what Collins can do. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6891243/indianapolis-colts-add-kerry-collins-sources-doubt-peyton-manning-ready
  5. Yes. They should both be nice pieces for the Astros who really aren't going anywhere right now. According to Jayson Stark the Astros are also sending CASH with Pence to allow Phillies to avoid paying luxury tax. So it ends up being: Pence and Cash for Singleton, Cosart, and 2 Players to Be Named. Thanks again Ed Wade.
  6. It's being reported around here that it is indeed the Phillies and we gave up Singleton, Cosart, and 2 other prospects apparently, but we did NOT include Brown or Worley.
  7. Yes. And the rumors are all ready coming that Asante is on his way to the Jets. According to one of the radio stations.
  8. Nnamdi Asomugha signs with The Philadelphia Eagles!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yessssssssssssssss!! I love this move so so so much. We now have 3 fantastic corners.
  9. Cutler hurt. It is now down to Todd Collins to lead the comeback to rally the Bears into the Super Bowl...... Or if the Bears can actually take some of these Rodgers picks for TD's...
  10. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Matt Dodge. Strange thing is I have said that all year even when the Giants HAVENT played the Eagles. I would like to thank Matt Dodge for providing the opportunity for us to steal this win today. I would also like to thank the Giants for forgetting how to play football in the 2nd half. Though our Defense was horrible, even worse than normal, that first half that I thought that the LITTLE GIANTS could have put up 30 on us. But somehow we found a way to win, and I am still on an adrenaline kick. What a win.
  11. YES! This is awesome news as a Phillies fan. I had read earlier in the day that we were the mystery team, but never really expected him to pick us. As awesome as it is however, to win we are still going to need to score runs. The pitching was there last year but the offense let us down. So hopefully we can move Blanton for the right-handed bat we need.
  12. I don't know if it was a player or just some sideline guy.
  13. This entire game is pathetic. its like neither team wants to win To be fair, it was pissing rain there, which is why there's been a lot of fuck ups since the half. That's no excuse for the Jets yanking on jerseys and trying to injure other players on purpose. Or the guy on the sideline sticking his knee out as a Dolphin is running downfield on Punt coverage... (which I'm assuming you meant in your 'injure other players on purpose'. Really who was that guy? I wonder if anything will come of it.
  14. Writing them off ? What ? I did, in fact say that they way they're playing right now ... just like the Giants were, and the Pats were ... and both came crashing back down to Earth rather abruptly in the last two weeks. The point however has nothing to do with the team, but with Eagle Fan. Eagle Fan shouts it from the mountain top every time this kind of thing happens. Yeah, last night was a fantastic game ... but uh, Oakland exploded for 59 but that isn't a very good indication of their team this year ... Denver just blew up all over the previously 'playing well' Chiefs but that hasn't been the norm for the Broncos (hey look another example of a team on a run that got grounded). The point at hand, is that myself and everyone else isn't going to use last night as a reason to put theEagles in the driver's seat ... because the Giants, Chiefs, Patriots, etc are perfect examples of why you don't do that ... However, Eagle Fan does do that exact thing every time last night happens. LOL, your ACTUAL team is one guy 1. OK, the argument sounded different earlier, but YES I will agree Most Eagles Fans are quick to pull the trigger and put them at the top of the mountain. But what I was arguing was that we CAN be the #1 team in the NFC, and there is no reason to say that at the end of the season we can't be, especially when like you even mention, the unpredictable aspect of the NFL this season. And clearly if our offense can play like they SHOULD, we could end up as #1 at the end of the regular season. But there is still a lot of football to go. 2. Yes, sadly, our team is 1 guy. The team looks 100% different with Vick as they do with Kolb. With Vick there seems to be more energy and they just look like a team with a fire. As an Eagles Fan I will even say that if Kolb is our QB, the team is mediocre. But with Vick, the team just plays a different game (and not just Vick's movement vs. Kolb's). More of a total team effort when Vick is in, just an observation. But my real issue was the Redskins game #1 being more telling than Redskins game #2. If Vick had played the entire game #1, I think it would have been a far different game as game #2 showed. I think Redskins game #2 is really what we are rather than game #1. Now do I think either game means a whole lot? No. Like I have stated before, I think Sunday is the big game, and we can hold off judgment until then.
  15. about infinity times ^ this. Also, LOL at calling out other teams/people for being inconsistent. That's DeSean Jackson's middle name. I mean hell, last night he had the first play .... and one other catch (Y) Now, with the way that they're clicking right now ... yeah they look really damned good. But then so did the Giants until this weekend. So did the Patriots until last weekend. This is the fucking NFL. A few teams will go on a run during the season but the actual good teams will be around in the post-season and will be the teams that win in the playoffs. Philly has yet to prove to be one of those teams. Vick has already shown this year that if you hit him, he ain't Vick. Unfortunately you play in the NFC, the old school conference. All these teams do is hit you ... except for the Redskins, they lay on the turf while you stand in the pocket for 7.5 seconds In your next five games you go to Chicago, Dallas, NY ... and you play both NY and Dallas twice going forward. If you can go into the three places mentioned above (three places you've shit the bed more often than not) and get the job done then I'll gladly annoint you the favorites. Well, I haven't anointed the Eagles to ANYTHING, but rather raising the idea that they COULD be the #1 team, instead of writing them off like you two have done. I am saying that there is still the possibility that they can be the #1 and to say no way not happening is ludicrous, as you have even just mentioned.. this is the NFL, anything can happen. Now, like I said, we will see about Philly and the Giants on Sunday and who has who's number. This I have a problem with. The reason the Redskins won earlier in the season is that Kevin Kolb played 95% of the game and never threw the ball more than 1 yard downfield. So it isn't 'more telling' when we didn't even have our ACTUAL team in that game.
  16. Eagles beat the Falcons 31-17 all ready this year. They could have beaten the Packers if Vick had played the entire game. The Giants test will come Sunday and we'll see who has who's number. There is no reason not to think that Philadelphia can end the regular season as the #1 team in the NFC especially if the offense can stay healthy and continue to play effective football. --- And what a great win tonight. I even called the 88 yd td on 1st down. I'm so glad Vick is our QB right now. I called for him ever since we signed him, and last year while watching Kolb vs. Saints at the Linc I told my brother 'We will be a much better team if Vick started...'. And while Kolb has played ok this year, Vick is clearly on a level ahead of him now. Only question is, what happens after this season?
  17. According to Fox there is smoke coming out of a transformer too... haha New Giants Stadium. That's New "Meadowlands" Stadium. The Jets were bitches about the naming rights and that's why the new stadium sucks. touche

  19. I've been watching. It is a phenomenal show. I just love the 2 main characters. They are just sooooo good.

    Glee

Have to revive this after what I felt was a REALLY GOOD episode last night, which I find happens regularly, when we aren't given 80% Finn/Rachel. Chris Colfer is fantastic as Kurt. Watching him last night made me feel the anguish and pain. He is just brilliant in this role, and he brings something to all of his scenes that just makes them heartwrenching. If Glee was ever considered a 'drama' I feel he should be given the best supporting actor emmy for a drama. P.S. I DID NOT see that kiss coming. Not at all. That was a jaw-dropping move. Also... MORE BIESTE!! She is great for the few scenes she actually gets. Now this kiss was more obvious from the discussion between her and Shue. With the lack of music last night, there was a lot of ways to further some character development, which is always a plus. But I felt that the 'Teenage Dream' cover was the best musical part of the episode last night.
  21. Just had Shelton Benjamin win my Year 2 Royal Rumble, and with Ezekiel Jackson still holding the WWE Title, am contemplating making a feud where Ezekiel forms a 'Black Power' type stable and wants Shelton to challenge Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Title so they can control the WWE, only for Shelton to challenge Zeke and win thus becoming an enemy of the new group. Zeke will recruit Shad, JTG, R-Truth, and Kofi (who I am thinking of turning to heel)... Just an idea, I'll see what I do. And I love this idea of using Superstars as my own ECW, perhaps I'll do that, but maybe a different variation, like say have a WCW return and takeover of Superstars and their attempt to takeover all of the WWE.
  22. Now watch the Cowboys beat my team on Sunday. Why couldn't you wait one more week Jerry? Hope not, I have to ride the Giants in my Survivor pool.......
  23. The right call by your definition is that anyone other than a QB can get hit with a helmet anywhere on his person and not get flagged for it, and that's because the rule basically makes everyone other than QBs expendable. I think the rule is if the person is an active runner and if a QB goes all Mike Vick and runs from the pocket, he's the same as any other player. There really is no debating it, by the rulebook, it was a clean hit. Does the rule need to be changed? That's debatable. It really was an unlikely occurence, the first guy who hit Collie turned him into the other guy who fucked him up This pretty much. But the more glaring question coming out of this game... I can't be the only one that hates listening to Phil Simms call a game, right?
