  1. Finished Song of Susannah and I'm going to start on The Dark Tower today. I liked Song, but it was pretty strange. The books get stranger and stranger, but it's really interesting. Can't wait to finally finish the series.
  2. I saw the last few minutes because I had work, but I hope you're right damshow because I really don't want Miami to win.
  3. I absolutely agree. Bill Russell is the greatest champion in all sports. His championship record is astounding, which is way more important than any stats you can come up with. Lets not get carried away. Stats matter. Robert Horry has 5 championships....that doesn't make him a better power forward then Barkley or Malone. Heck, Darko Milicic has as many rings as Wade, LeBron, Bosh, Carmello combined. Championships are important but they are far from being the thing that matters the most. Yeah, except that Russell has 11 rings, more than double Horry. And he has the stats to back him up. Plus, at the time playing defense wasn't a big deal. He revolutionized defense and the way the Center position and the game was played. Don't be ridiculous. Of course stats matter, but when we're talking about the best players in the world, Championship rings are more important than their stats. We're talking about the best players in the world. Why would anyone bring up Horry or Milicic? 11 rings with names like Cousy, K.C. Jones, Sam Jones, Heinsohn, Havlicek, Bill Sharman, Frank Ramsey, and Jim Loscutoff. Give me one player in history with a better cast of players surrounding him. Absolutely. I understand that totally. It's just my opinion and I'm not claiming it as gospel. Yes, he had a great supporting cast, but he was the leader of the team. He helped make those players around him better. And none of them have as many rings as him. I will also say I am not a Celtics fan. I'm from New York and a Yankees fan, so I really don't like Boston sports teams. I just really respect a guy that won that many championships and was a consistent winner for that many years. If he wasn't the best player in basketball history, he was at least the greatest winner in basketball/sports history.

  6. If you do that, then all their alter egos will be the same. Anything they've ever been called will be combined if you search for them.
  7. I finally finished Wolves of the Calla, the fifth Dark Tower book. It was absolutely awesome. I recommend the series to anyone. It's just an incredible universe and a fantastic quest. I'm about 35 pages into Song of Susannah. I'm hoping to finish it tomorrow since I have nothing else to do all day.
  8. I'm reading Wolves of the Calla. I've been reading the whole Dark Tower series recently. I'm not big into fantasy, but these books are fantastic.
  9. Box of kleenex ready. I'm going to make a phone call.

  10. That's kind of like the '96 Yankees or the '02 Angels. Nobody was a big star at the time. They were just solid teams that worked well together.
  11. Well, let's hope they beat Miami then.
  12. It's true though. If the Orioles were in the National League, they'd be top of their division.
  13. I feel the same way, but I wanna add Dallas to that list. I really don't care for Nowitzki. I really want either OKC or Memphis or Chicago to win. I honestly think I'd prefer OKC because I really like Durant. But then again, Memphis would be a great fairy tale.
  14. Even if they do trade Howard, they're gonna want a lot more than Bynum and the Lakers won't have what it takes. Also I thought I read a report or saw one that Howard wanted to stay with Orlando. Maybe I'm totally wrong and imagined that part. EDIT: I don't really mind who wins the title by the way. I just don't want the Heat to win. And I would love to see Memphis win with a crazy, historic playoff run.
  15. Do you honestly think the Magic will trade Howard for Bum Knees Bynum?
  16. What kind of rules would they implement to lead to more offensive production? I don't think there's any way they would really start doing things like that, but it would be interesting to hear your opinions on some realistic rule changes to increase offensive production. I honestly just think that we just go through cycles of great hitting, then great pitching. Strategies change along the years and things like that. I definitely agree with strategies changing, so that it would be more even, but I'm definitely curious if anyone thinks some rule changes would even things out.
  17. Storen was good for me last year. He should be helpful, depending on the type of league you play in.
  18. The way Skummy explained it in the thread, it makes sense that you would name yourself after him. Humor is the way to get over tragedy I suppose.

  19. Yes I do. And just so you realize I've been a donator for years and I was just making a joke. It's not like I donated yesterday and think I'm gonna get away with being a "useless troll" because of it.
  20. Sadly the Rangers are out, so I really don't care who wins. I'll watch the Cup, but probably none of the other playoff games.
  21. Look at all the people jealous that the Yankees are successful and your teams are not.
  22. I just used the code and got the book, Ruki. I added it to my kindle. I'll take a look at it. And recently I read the first two books of The Dark Tower Series from Stephen King. I started the third, but I'm only about 20% through it. I've also been reading I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell by Tucker Max. Very entertaining.
