  1. MOTHERFUCKING NILE!

Sold-out show, which means that the floor was packed with rabid fans. Temperatures in the upper 40's Celsius and more sweat than pedophile at an elementary school luncheon. Nowhere to escape on the floor, everyone got banged up by the huge waves that rippled through the crowd for the whole show, and the band was having a blast. They came, they saw, they liked and then completely TORE FACES OFF.

    BLACK. SEEDS. OF MOTHERFUCKING VENGEANCE!

  2. 5/10, don't know that many of them but DFA is fucking class, you can't hate the Bloodhound Gang, Arcade Fire is cool at times and my bro absolutely loves Jimmy Eats World.

    1. Two Lone Swordsmen - Formera Fuego

    2. Bo Hansson - Homeward Bound & The Scourging Of The Shire

    3. Marduk - Within The Abyss

    4. Summoning - Kôr

    5. Bouncing Souls - Monday Mourning Ant Brigade

    6. Captain Dan & The Scurvy Crew - Sea Monsters

    7. Moonsorrow - Sankaritarina

    8. Cowboy Bebop OST - Blue

    10. The Hives - Abra Cadaver

  3. A manga I am on the bubble about but leaning toward advising skipping is Yotsuba&!, by the creator of Azumanga Daioh. Its about a green-haired girl and is an all-ages manga, but so far (I have the first two volumes, but I believe 5 or 6 are out) the kid seems to either be just completely clueless or just plain retarded more than anything, and the stories have been about as much miss as hit so far. I *may* pick up volume 3 if I get really bored and can't find anything else to read - that's more or less why I picked up volume 2.
  4. Those sex sequences would have gotten either really boring or really goddamn weird really fast.

... Thanks, now I can hardly stop thinking about it :(

Just to throw something in stoke's face, what about Makai Senki Disgaea or Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei? I'm sure the latter you've already watched, but the former might have slipped past, dunno. If you've ever played the Disgaea games or their relatives and enjoyed the humor, it's an allright little show to pass time with.

  5. So, 2007 in metal?

With me, it's so far Kronos, Pig Destroyer and Peste Noiré topping the list, with Korpiklaani and Pelican bubbling just under. Black metal had a great year with a lot of good French BM releases plus international favorites like Behemoth, but both Kronos and PD push just to the front with their efforts this time.

I think that the cover for Marduk's "Panzer Division Marduk" is the best CD cover of all time. Why? Because while it is not the best-designed album cover of all time, it is the one with most raw emotion and expression in it. Sure, the sidenote made of a stream of bullets isn't really that impressive, even though the band logo does break up the monotony somewhat. But the dominating force of the picture is a big fucking tank, ready to fire, the barrel poised just above your head. Think about that. You know it's going to fire, and you know the noise is going to be infernal, and you just tense up, waiting for that moment when the cannon goes BOOOM and your eardrums shatter. The greatest cover, in my opinion.

  7. Off the top of my head, I only know of the new Gengis Tron and Belphegor discs in early '08 and a Korpiklaani release "somewhere down the line". Meshuggah are supposed to be releasing a new album as well, but I haven't heard any news on it for a while. It was supposed to come out this fall, but seems to have been postponed without much fuss.

On a side note, where the hell is my Pelican DVD >:/

  8. 2/10

I'll give that one point for Drowning Pool and one point because I have never heard Snow Patrol. Otherwise I would develop sudden rabies from that list.

... oh god I will be raped on my one:

    1. Fjoergyn - "Ernte Im Herbst"

    2. Windir - "The Spiritlord"

    3. Cowboy Bebop OST - "Musawe"

    4. Antaeus - "Bleeding Blasphemy"

    5. Summoning - "Like Some Snow-White Marble Eye"

    6. Captain Dan & The Scurvy Crew - "Rimes Of The Hip-Hop Mariners"

    7. Thrudvangar - "Ahnenthron"

    8. The Hives - "See Through Head"

    9. Melechesh - "Gyroscope"

    10. Judas Iscariot - "Our Sons Shall Rule An Empire By The Sea"

  9. I don't like the name Puke for the same reason I wouldn't like it if a band was named any of the following: Shit, Piss, Phlegm, Bile, Spit, Semen, or Vaginal Discharge. A bodily function should be just that, it should not a good band name make.
  10. As Liam mentioned, "Puke" is very straight forward. Puke sounds good, it lacks any pretentious bullshit, it's not contrived, and it doesn't make the band sound like a bunch of pussies. Typically, you have to assume that a band named Puke is going to come out and rock, leaving your toes tapping and your ears satisfied.

I fail to see how it's a bad band name.

  11. I'd have to nominate Marduk, really. Sometimes their apocalyptic, entrenched-in-war-style produces some really epic stuff, and sometimes, well...

    Death upon death

    Black death redemption

Upon this sea of death I shall set my throne

    Halo of death

    Death puke salvation

Only death is clean enough to touch your soul now

    Throne of death

    Justice is done

    Throne of rats
