  1. As much as people like to mock Voronin, looks like Liverpool might have Torres, Keane, Kuyt, Babel and Voronin as strikers next season - a very impressive bunch.

On paper, that is better than Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal. If Liverpool bought a top winger then they could definately be challenging the top two come May.

  2. In the end I picked up four albums, came to £20 incl shipping (LOVE Amazon Marketplace)

    I got

    The Prodigy - Their Law

The Prodigy - Fat of the Land

(Well aware that these two didn't fit the brief, but I wanted some hip-hop to balance this purchase out)

    Black Star - Black Star

Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow (Well looking forward to this one, been meaning to pick it up since I saw Gift of Gab and DJ Shadow perform together last year. Also this album has guest appearances from Chali 2Na, ?uestlove, Cut Chemist, Dilated Peoples, Lyrics Born, Zack De La Rocha and the motherfucking heavyweights of spoken word, Saul Williams and Gil Scott-Heron? I'm having an audiogasm just thinking about it.)

Everyone keep suggesting stuff though. This is what I'm into at the moment, so I'd love all recommendations.

I fully intend to pick up the new Nas disc, and I've been putting off getting Lupe until the price comes down a little.

I've never really listened to Common, I'll YouTube later, and will definately check out some of the other names in this thread. Cheers guys.

Black Star is the Mos Def and Talib Kweli album right? If so, thats an album worth picking up just for the awesomeness that is 'Definition'.

I'd also recommend checking out some Pharoahe Monch. I haven't fully heard his new album but from what I have heard he's pretty great.

  3. Good, both Liverpool and Manchester United have been making habits of this over the last couple of years, Benitez especially although Ferguson thinks he's above the law.

Care to back that up? Barry aside - which has been embarassing for all concerned, from O'Neill's daily outbursts to Gerrard begging for his bezzie mate - what have we actually done wrong? Benitez answered a specific question from a journalist about a player we'd been heavily linked with for a number of weeks. That is extremely different from Ferguson's constant talk about Berbatov, although you seem to be making Liverpool out to be worse

There was also the whole Heinze saga where Liverpool had clearly talked with the player without Man Utd's consent.

  4. I've got mixed feelings over us potentially signing Berbatov. On one hand he's the kind of physical force we need up front and will get the goals in the 6 yard box that the rest of the team don't seem to gamble to get. But having seen him play live, he doesn't actually do much over the course of the game which won't help us too much in the scrappy games against the likes of Middlesbrough. This work ethic will be provided by whoever partners him though so its not going to be too much of a problem. I've no doubts that he'll be a success but he's just too moody for my liking and with the likes of Rooney and Tevez in the squad, he doesn't look like he'd enjoy not being first choice every match.

I still think we could do with another winger. Giggs will be playing less and less this year, Nani is a bit too unpredictable and Park lacks that final product. With Ronaldo out for the first 2 months or so we could really lack that quality on the wings.

  5. I doubt Ronaldinho will really be a success in the Premiership especially at a team like Man City because of his poor fitness and work ethic. He's not the kind of player to help out defensively anyway and at a team like City which will need its attacking players to help out a bit, he won't be much use.

  6. I've started to get into bands that could be considered 'underground' in the sense that they are pretty unheard of here in the UK (I'm not sure of how big they are in the US) such as Jurassic 5 and Little Brother. I enjoy their songs a lot more than I do with artists like Lil Wayne. I'm quite a big fan of 'conscious hip-hop' and some of the top artists in the genre make much, much better music than the club songs that seem to get the most attention from the media.

  7. I'm not a fan of his own songs but he really comes into his own doing verses on other peoples songs. He's got a voice which gets quite annoying after a full 4 minutes but it sounds quite fresh over a short time. His song with The Cool Kids is pretty great though and is what made me like him.

  8. Okay, so I go down to 10 men early in the game and the opposition score three before half-time. I make some tactical changes and we get back to 3-3. The final whistle goes but for some reason the result changes to 5-1 to them. What the hell happened?!

  9. Where is it held? I miss the NIA (in Birmingham!)

This is the biggest issue I have with the new series. The reason the old Gladiators was so great was the huge crowd and the general atmosphere making the show seem fun. This new 'arena' is too small, quiet and it just seems too serious and not fun like it's supposed to be.

  10. I did it on 07 but it got quite hard knowing which players you were going to get so it ended up the squad was very heavy in terms of strikers and we barely had any defenders. Another thing is you have to pick a league that starts earlier than the one you're managing in so that you have enough time to build a squad and get to grips with them otherwise you won't have enough of a squad to compete in the friendlies and you won't get them match-fit in time.

  11. Jenna Fischer in top 10? (N) I wouldn't mind her somewhere towards the bottom end of the 50 but 10 is seriously too high considering some of the girls who didnt even make it.

Decent five. One of my list was in here (Fox) and Rhianna and Kirsten Bell could easily have made it. Not sure about Emilie being so high, i can understand how she could get into the 50 but 6th might just be too high.

  12. Wenger is a very thoughful person, someone might have told him about how it sounds, but he would know it wasn't the right thing to say and I can be pretty sure he retracted the comments of his own accord.

I still think we'll win the league. Van Persie should be back soon, and when he is we have two of the best strikers in the Premiership/world, and I think the Eduardo injury and the cock-up against Birmingham will only serve to spur us on for the rest of the season. Man Utd might have strength in depth, but best eleven's, ours is by far the best. I honestly think we have the best central midfield partnership in the world and the amount of goals they create for us (directly or indirectly) is silly.
