  1. I actually loved the Showcase mode. There was no excuse for just one last year though, especially when the previous year came with three and had a further three DLC. But if they can't do it justice, don't do it. It sounds like they wanted to do a Brock Lesnar one and I imagine the hold up was not being able to get Kurt Angle in the game.

Hopefully they can make either MyCareer or Universe worth my interest. I always want to get into these modes but I have no interest in grinding, grinding and grinding some more. I want some story so this Promo Engine intrigues me. I mean, I'll be getting it anyway because I always do but still...

Barry Jenner, who played Admiral Ross on DS9, passed away last night

Just as I'm rewatch int DS9 and am deep into the Dominion War. He always came across as having an authority, so that sucks

  3. I mean this quite seriously; how am I supposed to go back to watching other shows after this? I mean I've got 3 episodes of Supergirl to watch and I can't bring myself to do it because of how amazing this show was.

Honestly I laughed, I jumped and I had to hold back tears at points. The characters were great, you care about every single person in the show, there are no annoying characters, even if some of the characters can annoy you.

I said it on Twitter but it's one of the best TV series I've seen in a long time, and I'm putting it ahead of Daredevil and Jessica Jones in quality and I thought they had set a bar. I cannot wait for series two.

  4. So the rumour is that the new series will be set between Enterprise and TOS. I'm not really sure about that, I would much prefer the gap between TOS and TNG but again, it's Trek so I don't care that much.

  5. OK so I finished the episode and...

    Spoiler

...I really enjoyed it. It's somewhat of an origin story but not quite in that you've got Harvey Dent pre-Two Face, Oswalt Cobblepot but no Penguin and Batman's seemingly first interaction with Catwoman.

What I did really like is premise that the Wayne Family were in deep with the Falcone's and other crime lords of Gotham. I'm fully expecting this to be proven to be incorrect, but I like it nonetheless. Also the fact that Bruce and "Oz" were childhood friends is something different, so to me at least they've mixed some of the established lore up enough for it to be a different twist to make it worth checking out.

The combat is well done I think, especially the stringing together of moves to take out multiple targets with you choosing from two or three options on how to do it.

...and on a non spoiler-related note, I do not like the glowing eyes.

I mean, just because you've never had issues doesn't mean they aren't there in abundance. Every TT game I've played has crashed at least once, regardless of platform, and their BTTF re-release for PS4 was beyond broken, it crashed a grand total of at least in the teens, if not more, and I played that over half a year after it came out. I know for a fact I'm not alone with these issues because a) I've searched out fixes for these issues, and b) Telltale have developed a unenviable reputation for it among a lot of gaming communities.

As much a I don't like the Kotaku and the umbrella they're under, even they ran an article about it.

Oh I'm not saying there aren't any issues, just that I have never experienced any so loading times aside I have had no bad experiences with Telltale and have loved every game I've played of theirs (haven't touched Minecraft purely because I just don't get it).

  7. Mine used to be Scarface. I remember reading and hearing about it was the greatest film ever and then I watched it with a friend and hated every single second of it. It's one of the few films I've constantly checked the time during to see how much longer there is left. Also I found the acting to be atrocious. Honestly one of the worst films I've ever seen. Absolutely hate it.

It's all on Marvel Unlimited now as well, and you can get a month's subscription for a lot less than the price of buying them all ;)

Meh, Unlimited can be a pain to read through when it crosses over so many books. I've actually got Unlimited I just find the interface can be a bit awkward, whereas this is the full story in one nice and easy package.

  9. In case anyone is as insane as me, Comixology has each of the six Clone Saga Epic books down to £2.99 each. Also they have the "true" Clone Saga of what they should have done for the same sort of price.

In all honestly I loved this story from what bits I was able to read in the UK printed books. Ben Reilly is one of my favourite comic characters and thought making him the "real" Peter Parker was a great move so I'm really looking forward to reading the entire thing (400+ pages each book!) and trying to understand the hatred it gets these days.

Now when are they going to release the complete Ben Reilly Epic in the UK for a reasonable price?

Succession spoilers that point to someone other than the previous spoilers :)

So technically if/when Tommen dies, technically the throne falls to Cersei. Gendry is a bastard and doesn't count, the Targaryen line lost it's claim by being ousted and in the TV series there are no surviving Baratheon's but if you trace their history back it somehow comes back to Tywin Lannister. Tyrion doesn't count as he is guilty of murder and seen as a traitor so it's Cersei. That is unless what we saw was Tommen relieving Jamie of his Kingsguard duties because if he has, he has claims to land meaning it would fall directly to him.

  11. So, obviously a little late to the party but... (Knightfall ending spoilers)

    Spoiler

Seriously I was loving this game. Absolutely loving it, the story was excellent, the quests were quality, everything I really enjoyed. I thought the Batmobile handled excellently and had no issues with it like some people did but I did have one problem...that fucking Knightfall ending. It's not even the ending, it's the fact you have to get EVERY, SINGLE, FUCKING, RIDDLER, TROPHY. Seriously who thought that was a good idea? I mean I get the game reason but for the sake of a 5 minute cut scene you want me to spend hours upon hours wandering around Gotham trying to find over 250 trophies? No thanks, YouTube for me.

Before that I'd give the game a 9/10 but because that it drops down to maybe 7 or 7.5 purely because it's left such a sour taste in my mouth. Genuinely have never felt as disappointed in a game, TV show or movie before. That's quite impressive.

Speaking about the scene, she told Entertainment Weekly: "I'd like to remind people the last time I took my clothes off was season 3. That was awhile ago. It's now season 6. But this is all me, all proud, all strong. I'm just feeling genuinely happy I said 'Yes.' There ain't no body double!"

So, I'm guessing it looked CGI because of the fire?

Also I loved this episode. Everything is falling into place, the chess pieces are all being moved around and you can see the direction all of the characters are heading for the rest of the season. Didn't love Osha's death but that was because I like Osha, but Dani's story, everything in King's Landing and Tyrion taking massive but calculated risks is all brilliant

  13. Spoiler

I thought the episode worked really well. I liked that they followed through on the Darkh threat to Detective Lance and killed Laurel. I had issues with Laurel but she really turned it around this season and pretty much found her groove, and while it sucks that she's gone, I think it works well.

I have no issues with her last words to Ollie because they are actually nothing to do with Felicity and everything to do with Oliver. Laurel is telling Oliver she wants him to be happy and she knows that Oliver sees his happiness with Felicity. Also they aren't actually her last words, they are the last words we hear because she talks to him afterwards of screen.

The Climb was a great episode and like @Benjrie Mode said, it did go downhill after that, but I really think season 4 has fixed a lot of the problems. There's still a lot wrong but it's getting there.

I'm curious to know what people would like the show to do with Felicity? I mean it would've been interesting if they had killed her off and started down the road to a proper reuniting of Laurel and Oliver, but obviously it didn't work the first time around so they switched gears and did what the fans wanted and put Felicity and Oliver together. I'm really not seeing the issues with Felicity, her actions have made sense as a person in a relationship with someone who is constantly lying and keeping secrets and that's why everyone is siding with her, supporting her and telling Oliver he's the screw up because he is. There is an argument to be made about her timing of the breakup but she had already called off the wedding so the writing was on the wall anyway.
