Hangin' With Mr. Cooper and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air both did "live" shows.

Does anybody know of any bands that do exclusively (or a lot of) instrumental metal songs? Songs like "The Call of Ktulu" by Metallica and "Regret Not" by All That Remains are good examples of what I'm looking for. And if not, any suggestions of "regular" bands' instrumental songs? Any help would be appreciated like appreciation was going out of style.

Some of these have already been said, but yeah.
Guns 'N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
The Pixies - Debaser
Rage Against The Machine - Know Your Enemy
Led Zeppelin - When The Levee Breaks
Led Zeppelin - Kashmir
Jane's Addiction - Mountain Song
Metallica - Ride The Lightning (the one that starts 2:35 into the song)
-
Ride the Lightning is one of my favorite albums of all time, and Fade to Black is probably my favorite song ever. Other favorites are Master of Puppets, The Shortest Straw, One, Whiplash, No Leaf Clover, The Memory Remains, Ride the Lightning, & The Unnamed Feeling.
Crap, now I gotta go listen to my Metallica playlist.

Haha, seriously. I think my central nervous system would actually explode.

Recently, I've bought Donkey Kong 64, MLB featuring Ken Griffey Jr., Hybrid Heaven, and Mario Golf.
Combined, I payed less than I would've for a new PS2 game... and I'm having a blast with all of em.

A few people I know saw the Slackers play a show on a cruise ship a few days ago. They said it was an awesome show, and it was quite interesting to try and dance while the boat was swaying .

I really can't get into any of the hardcore/ska stuff I've heard. I just don't think the horns mesh well with the heavy guitar riffs and screaming.
And if you want to talk about favorite ska albums of all time, I gotta make a mention of The Suicide Machines' "Destruction by Definition", and Operation Ivy's "Energy".

Bob And The Sagets? Ha...I was on Soulseek about 6 months ago chatting in the Ska room. One of the members enters and starts talking about his band and then asks me to download and check out the EP. I don't have it on my computer anymore, but it wasn't bad.
As for ska - Can't go wrong with The Toasters. Absolutely adore them.
Personally, I think in the ska community, Steetlight Manifesto are overrated. They sound very similar to Catch 22 (Which is to be expected given the bands members) but I still prefer Catch 22 to SM any day. I like Everything Goes Numb, but I just think Keasby Nights is a much better album.

This man's got the right idea.
Best tracks, overall though, are 'The Velorium Camper I, II & III'. Especially The Faint Of Hearts.
I don't see where the similarity between The Mars Volta and Coheed is drawn, apart from the fact that Claudio and Cedric have similar ranges in which they mainly sing. A lot of Coheed fans do like the Volta though.
While we're in a topic like this, does anyone in the UK have the comic-book, and would be willing to sell it to me?

Haha, Warzone played nothing like No Mercy. Still, the price is right. One thing though, the No Mercy cartridge I have is black, and that one is gray. Does that have something to do with the reissuing of the game, or is it just nothing of importance?

You definitely gotta listen to "Here's to Life" by Streetlight, it's a masterpiece.
Whoo, where exactly do you live? I'm on Long Island (until I leave for college in August), and there's a pretty good amount of local ska bands around here. We also get a lot of the NJ bands playing here pretty often, so it's pretty cool.
And yeah, Big D is ridiculous. I saw them open for Streetlight last year, and they were great live.
A few of my favorites:
Catch 22 (Keasbey Nights is one of my favorite albums of all time)
Reel Big Fish
Rx Bandits
Streetlight Manifesto
The Arrogant Sons of Bitches (on hiatus )
High School Football Heroes
Bomb the Music Industry!
Big D and the Kids Table
The Superspecs
I Voted For Kodos
And a load more locals, etc. Hopefully we can get a good multi-person discussion going here, that'd be cool.

So I saw someone in another thread mention something about Streetlight Manifesto and Catch 22, and it got me wondering how many ska fans we have on this board? And if you're a fan, what's the local scene like where you live/who are some of your favorite bands?
Also, I know there are a lot of people who hate ska and everything associated with it, so if those people could not yell at me for posting this, that'd be pretty cool.

Nobody's said April 26, 1992 yet?

What CAW sites do you guys use? I've found a few ok ones, but I was just wondering if anybody knew of any that I haven't found yet.

You need an Expansion Pack.
-
Wasn't Bomberman 64 shit?
And I got stuck on Zelda.
Can't remember where it was, but I remember being stuck, I might start it again actually.

Damn, that is some pretty huge news. Wish I lived over there, I'd love to go see them.

If you enjoy Ani and the like, you'll probably end up liking Jay Tea. He's a local solo acoustic act (who plays keyboard in a number of local ska bands... he's even in my sig! But that's beside the point) who does a lot of folkish acoustic songs, including some Ani covers, as well as acoustic versions of his bands' songs, and a bunch of awesome original stuff. Here's his Myspace, where I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find a way to order his album (5 bucks for 19 tracks, it's well worth it).
Let me know what you think.

At the Drive-In - This System Is Non-Operational (Anthology)
Motion City Soundtrack - Commit This To Memory
System of a Down - Mezmerize
Gorillaz - Demon Days
Mae - The Everglow
The Postal Service - We Will Become Silhouettes (Single)
-
Check out Streetlight Manifesto's cd "Everything Goes Numb", for my money one of the best ska albums ever made (and I'm a huge ska fan).

!!! - When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Krazee
The Faint - Danse Macabre
LCD Soundsystem - Tribulations
Head Automatica - Dance Party Plus
Those are some of my favorites.

Really good work on this diary so far, man. I don't follow diaries too often, but this one's on my browser's Favorites as of now. Now I'll throw some predictions out there:
1) Which 4 teams do you think will win in the 2nd round and face off at JD?
Hardy Boyz, Saturn/Malenko, Edge & Christian, Rikishi/Haku.
2) Will Faarooq wrestle alone or find a partner?
Find a partner.
3) If he finds a partner, who will it be?
Big Bossman. (Don't ask why, cause I have no idea)
I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with the Benoit/Angle storyline, and obviously to the beginning of the actual Invasion. I kinda hope the Invasion starts sooner rather than later though, as this is labeled as an Invasion diary.

It's funny, when I lived at home, I didn't really care either way whether or not a game had massive multiplayer capabilities. Now that I live in college, I can't see myself ever buying another game that wasn't multiplayer in some way, except old favorites like Final Fantasy or GTA. A bunch of people playing a game that has great multiplayer potential kicks the shit out of a great singleplayer game any day.
