    Celtic? Joe Hart is retiring.

The argument I have with this is if James Trafford goes for close to 20mil with no top flight experience, how much does a player with european/prem experience and has been clutch in several big games go for?

I really cannot see Celtic spending 20+mil on a keeper

  2. Absolutely buzzing for you @Szumi

If you want any advice in terms of getting the ground etc or ideas of places to go or things to do whilst in the city lemme know :) The place has changed massively over the last 10/15 years and I know I'm biased but I absolutely love Liverpool. So much to do

  3. Been a lovely day thank you...bar missing my train back to Liverpool by 2 mins because we were bottlenecked outside a tube station (that was fun) but least got an off-peak return.

Thought Kelleher and the defenders in general were outstanding. Not sure why Virg's first didnt stand but least he got the winner and it wasn't another penalty shootout.

Think I enjoyed that more than the last League Cup final. Felt quite nervous upon hearing Nunez and Salah weren't fit but they all stepped up especially the kids

  4. Second half performance was brilliant from the lads. That first 15 minutes was just relentless pressure on Luton. Showed a lot of character after a turgid and slow first half.

Also I think theres no chance Greenwood stays. I think there'll be too much fan pressure on them. I think if you're the new (but not really) owners you don't want to be making a PR mess early on.

Isn't there a massive element here of "if the referee sees it"? Because I've heard you mention Joelinton on this before and having been at that game I certainly didn't. And Van Dijk was acting a right twat.

That's just an instance cause he did it that many times to the ref and nothing happened. But it happens like every game players asking for bookings and nothing happening cause its the classic this is the thing we're cracking down on (for 2/3 weeks)

Van Dijk was a twat that time. I do agree and he held his hands up over it.

  6. Ticket and travel sorted for the final, only for us to find out we've got the worst side of the ground for pubs. All the tiny ones that'll be rammed.

Gutted as we had a boss time last time out in the green man with the sun being out

It's just bollocks. We already had Dalot given a double yellow for one instance of dissent this season, then not even a week later, similar reactions going completely unpunished.

This will just lead to twats like Dermot Gallagher backing all the decisions the refs made, despite no consistency being applied whatsoever. Throwing 10min sin bins into the mix will cause uproar, especially when some teams are seen to be allowed to protest more than others with no punishment.

Think Van Dijk's the only one fined for dissent this season as well.

Its like the whole start of the season the crack down on waving yellow cards. Saw Nunez/Mac Allister booked in seperate games and then Joelinton went on a waving rampage and got fuck all in our match then Udogie did it while on a yellow and got fuck all.

Remember that season they were gonna crack down on pulling shirts in the box and there was 2 pens in the opening week and then nothing happened after. You'll get the same with blue cards.

  8. Everyone knows Chelsea are to put it bluntly, fucked.

If the information coming out about them considering sacking Poch but they won't due to the payout and the subsequent breach of FFP.

Seen as well winning the Carabao might scupper them as they'd qualify for the conference league and then they'd breach the threshold UEFA have.

Edit: This was when the above link was showing as Gallagher potentially being sold <_<

And just like that City are 5 pts back with 2 matches in hand. They are inevitable.

Well yeah. We play Wolves at home final game.

We always lose by a point to them when we play Wolves last match at Anfield

  10. That's more on the keeper for me that. No need to go in for a flying kung-fu clearence there. Virg could and should have done better but Ali's kicked thin air.

Also Virg being past it despite being one of the best centre backs this season is a mad shout

  11. When I see this lower league Prem club argument, I do just think well 14/20 teams need to agree to the rules and they hit that benchmark. Its obvious there's more of a crackdown cause the spotlight has been on the league and the threats of an independent regulator.

Then I also think there's clubs who aren't necessarily big names but can run themselves in a sufficient manner and have improved over the seasons like Brighton.

Wolves are 11th and only 2 points behind billion+ spending Chelsea. Spending money doesn't equate to success. I look at our game against Chelsea in midweek and think we've spent smart, they've thrown money at anyone and everyone.  Chelsea are gonna be screwed at some point with their books and are already being investigated over Abramovich. Especially with no European football money coming in as well. Fully expect them to breach in the summer.

Everton have been hit by a combo of building a new stadium, some misfortune in getting into bed with Usmanov who was the money man really then that being taken away cause of the war whilst also being run like shite, overspending on crap players both transfer fees and wages. I dont think they'll do another points deduction, I wouldn't be shocked if they go "okay call it 5 the first breach, 5 the second"

FFP is far from perfect but if it can stop clubs trying to ruin themselves. Maybe I'm not as angered by it because we've basically been run with FFP in mind and the owners are heavily onboard with it.

  12. Routine win that really. Norwich scored from a corner and scored a screamer but really we should have won by more.

Bradley and McConnell both played really well and nice to get minutes for Trent/Szoboszlai/Robbo.

Do have to say though, the draw for the next round is really shit. ITV/BBC will be hoping Wrexham win tomorrow because a Wrexham/Newcastle game is probably the one they'll build the round on

I'd rather have Hodgson back than Mourinho in 2023!

Xabi Alonso seems to be a favorite, but, I don't know. I'd rather someone with a bit of a more proven track record but who knows who'd that be.

You pretty much mentioned it earlier on but the sentiment really is its impossible boots to fill. Very much akin to Fergie leaving United except Jurgen will leave us in a good place with a young squad with some experienced heads.

There's a lot of good managers in football but it doesn't feel like there's a load of "world class" ones. I think an Alonso or a De Zherbi probably match in a sense in terms of the brand of play and I think for a lot of managers bar a handful, it would probably be their biggest job.
