1. I love love the 2KSeries. But last year was a huge disappointment. My player was phenomenal, but full of bugs. By the time things were fixed, I had lost interest. Also, the second patch fixed my player but destroyed associations (big men would jack up 3s for no reason). I'll probably still pick up 2k11, but can't say I'm the fanboy I was last year.

  2.
So from the looks of it Tom Izzo to the Cavaliers is close to happening. This one actually surprises me but I guess he's just looking to go to the NBA to make a big pay check and retire in a few years?
Will be absolutely shocked if this happens. Tom Izzo is the most popular person in East Lansing, even ahead of Magic Johnson. If he goes, it's solely because he wants to fulfill a lifelong dream. But I don't know why this is a better situation than the Bulls job he could have probably accepted.

That said, if anyone can succeed in Cleveland, it'd be Tom Izzo. The hardest working coach I've ever seen, incredibly media-savvy, great teacher. Here's hoping he doesn't become the latest person to fail in the college-pro transition game.

  3. To be fair, The Waterboy was pretty fucking stupid.

Yeah, that's right, I'm roasting that sacred cow. Everything about that movie that wasn't Captain Insano or Kathy Bates sucked. EVEN FONZIE.

    You better watch it, Sousa.

You're giving me some Tacklin' Fuel....

  4. Oh, and until Dwight Howard develops a post game, Pau is better. Howard is the best defensive big man in the game, this is true, but the gap between his offensive game and Pau's is MUCH larger than the gap between their respective defensive games.

Not to mention Gasol can actually play more than 30 minutes a game.

  5. I'm pretty sure Artest, after doing a good job on Durant, can stop Jason Richardson. Steve Nash is still fast, but not exactly Russell Westbrook or Deron Williams in his ability to attack the lane. If Amare has a stellar series, I can see Phoenix taking this to 6 games. Otherwise, I have to believe LA rolls.

  6. See, I disagree. That rejuvenated Lakers crowd behind a red-hot Kobe would've been tough to beat in overtime. Might as well give it up to the leading scorer. You live and die with that shot.

They needed a double screen, or back pick if they were going to go for the win. The play was poorly designed. The choice to go for the win wasn't terrible, but you've got to come up with something better than that with that much time on the clock.

How dare you question the COACH OF THE YEAR?

  7. After a mediocre day 1, yesterday was a great day of playoff basketball.

Loved seeing Durant challenged by Artest and co. Something tells me he'll be back with a vengeance game 2. Yes the Lakers defense was good, but there's no way Jordan Farmar caused him to airball two shots. Count it as first playoff game anxiety. The fact that the Thunder were so close even with Durant's off game has to be encouraging for OKC.

Orlando-Charlotte was also a great game to watch. The Bobcats have a ton of heart and you could feel the Orlando crowd getting worried in the 2nd half. They completely took Howard out of the game with foul trouble. Vince Carter disappeared as expected. This is gonna be another excellent series.

Portland/Phoenix was all about the old guys. Camby was THE best mid-season pickup this year. Watching Portland just made me sad for those fans, because if they had Oden, Roy, Joel, they would be as good as any team in the West.

  8. naiwf, I love Kevin Durant as much as the next guy, but there is no way Lebron is not the unanimous MVP this year. The stats he's putting up are ridiculous and his team has the best record. What Durant's doing is amazing, but this is Lebron's best year in the league thus far.

  9. About to try to take on the Elite Four with this lineup (All Level 40)

    Magmar

    Vaporeon

    Heracross

    Tauros

    Gengar

    Meganium

Overall, training Pokemon has been a bitch, only because there are so few wild pokemon that provide a lot of EXP points. It gets better at Victory road, but it's been a really slow process. I guess your Pokemon can't be too high levels because you still have to make it through Kanto.

Glad to hear people are finding the Pokewalker worthwhile. I'll probably give it another try soon. It seems kinda complicated and I didn't have the patience at first.

  10. This was easily the worst MSU team to reach a final four. Izzo does this by motivating them to excel and play beyond their talents. He finds scrappy guys who've been overlooked by other teams and are willing to crash the boards and hit the deck. I hope he never leaves East Lansing.
