  1. So defensive. Of course, I would be too when two of your biggest heroes that helped end the curse are revealed to be cheaters.

Perhaps I wouldn't be such a "prick" if this wasn't exactly how everyone outside of New York acted when Clemens, A-Rod, Pettitte were busted. Like I said, it's stuff like this (steroids, not the prickly fans) that's ruined baseball for a lot of people, including myself.

  2. Other than David Ortiz, this is perhaps the single best news I could've gotten today. Yeah, I'm an ass. Don't you Yankee-haters tell me you didn't feel that way when A-Rod or Clemens were unveiled. :P

I don't know what you're talking about, its quite obvious Manny didn't start using untill he got to LA. Clemens, A-Rod, Manny, what do they all have in common? Joe Torre.

    lol Maxx.

Not that I care about baseball anymore, but hopefully this shuts up all the Red Sox fans for a good while.

  3. Without getting too much into it, Norro. I didn't let you forfeit because you did not have the whole picture. I believe in mafia that it's not over until your legs stop kicking. What might seem like a doggone conclusion to you may play out completely different. That's why you couldn't forfeit, because at the end of the day, I'm the gamerunner and I decide when someone has no chance of winning. :)

  4. Ugh, fucking Cuban just can't accept the Kidd trade was horrible. Really, we're going to give a 36 year old point guard who can't shoot and can't defend most of the other younger, faster guards in the conference, 3 years, 25 million? We get it Mark, you regret not keeping Steve Nash, this is not a way to compensate for it. The Mavs are no closer to winning a title this year than they were last year. They should be blowing up the team and going on a free agent spending spree in 2010, but no, they'll try to ride it out with Dirk and Kidd instead.

    And Gortat. Can't forget Gortat.

  5. I'm not a fan of the Artest deal at all. I don't want to see some punk like Artest on my team. What's gonna happen when he starts bitching about something or doesn't get along with Kobe? Why mess up the chemistry of the team when you could've easily just re-signed Ariza? He was putting up pretty much the same numbers as Artest, and he was a KEY to the Lakers getting the finals last year, especially because of his steals. I just don't see a need for the Lakers to get any better, especially when they got OLDER because of it. Ariza's still very young and could've been in his prime as Kobe and Gasol got older. Now, you just add another guy that's going to age right along with them. I don't really like it for either team, considering Ariza and Aaron Brooks are now the Rockets best players? Houston's doomed, they might end up with one of the worst records in the league next year..

Houston's doomed either way, with or without Artest. They've basically thrown in the towel next season. There's no Yao anyway. This way, they give their young guns a whole season to develop. Best case scenario, Yao returns in 2010 healthy as ever and surrounded by a young nucleus. Worst case scenario, they still have a young core in an attractive city with a ton of cap space to sign Bosh.

  6. I take a lot of the blame of what happened in the game. Though I directly link that to absolutely nobody saying anything for two days except Norro and I. <_<

Inactivity aside, I'm as excited for the final stretch of Pokemon mafia as I was for Gotham. People need to remember that we're only on Day 5 (>_>), so it really wouldn't be dragging at all if it weren't for BR.

  7. Well Yao's stock is gonna free fall in 2010, so if he is healthy by the end of next year, the Rockets may be the only team out there who might even be willing to invest in him at all

Yao's commercial appeal rivals anybody's in the NBA besides Lebron, Kobe, and maybe Dwight Howard. If he can give somebody 20-25 minutes a night, he'll get a max offer.

  8. That sucks for Yao. I always liked him as a player, but his body started breaking down early on so this isn't much of a surprise. As for the Rockets, they took the '94 championship from my Knicks in devastating fashion so in some way this pleases me that they may end up enduring a decade of suffering like my team has put me through since '99 :shifty:

Ha. Too bad Morey is about a million times more competent than Isiah. :)

  9. That trade would make Orlando much worse. VC plays no defense and needs 20 shots per game to not be a whiny bitch on the court. He pretty much duplicates what Rashard Lewis gives you offensively, and if they lose Hedo and make that trade they don't have a back up PG or a 4. This is like the bizarro offseason where teams are making deals that make no sense whatsoever.

uh...I don't know if you've seen any Nets games this season, but VC has finally grown up. He at least gives effort on the defensive side and he's really embraced his veteran status in the league. Put him a winning team like Orlando and I think he's gonna do extremely well.

And I wouldn't be surprised to see the Magic swallow the luxury tax and still sign Hedo.
