  1. Wahoooo! Gay Bar! (Gay Bar, Gay Bar!)

Also I may be the only person in the world who thinks this but Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know" on RB2 is brilliant to play on bass.

Nope. At least one more here. It's a terrific part and one of the only ones that I fight for the bass part.

  2. Well, I'm very happy that everyone's not 80+. That pissed me off tremendously. From what I can tell, defense plays a huge role in these ratings, and that's always a good thing. For example, rashard Lewis is B A- in the offensive categories and still only a 75.

Also, this makes me feel better that my guy in Draft Combine is only a 44 >_>

  3. 1. The Beatles

    2. The Killers

    3. Green Day

    4. Muse

    5. Queen

    6. Bruce Springsteen

    7. Jack's Mannequin

    8. Weezer

    9. The Bravery

    10. Our Lady Peace

I'm very happy that I've seen 6 of these in the last year....considering only 8 are active, that's even better. :)

  4. Yeah, but I think Ariza's a better fit for them this season as well. The Lakers don't need Artest's firepower on offense. What they need are role players who can hit open 3s, play solid defense. At this point in their career, I give the edge to Ariza. If you look at their age and potential, then it's Ariza by a mile.

And again, Artest is a nutjob. Seriously, did you read about him showing up to the Rockets bus in his underwear? And put him in a place like LA? Forget about it. If he wasn't a nutjob before, the 24-7 media coverage and paparazzi will turn him into one.

  5. Are you on the side that thinks Artest for Ariza is an upgrade or a downgrade? Personally, I'm leaning towards a downgrade myself just because of the fact that Ariza is a better defender against most guys, Artest seems to have lost a step getting older. Not that I think it matters much right now, Lakers are still my pick next year too.

Oh, and it's been reported on Ricky Rubio's European team's twitter account apparently has said Rubio will be staying put at least this next year.

    Missed this.

Definately an upgrade. Ariza *might* be really good in three years, but he'll never be a number one type player, and in three years the Lakers will probably be looking at either one last run or reloading. Artest is better now, and will be for the next two to three years, so it's clearly an upgrade.

This was my thinking, until I thought about it and realized that Artest's skillset has been dwindling. He no longer has the quickness to cover 2s. And he's a headcase. Of course, I think the Lakers can contain that, but I'd rather have Ariza in the near-term and the long-term.

And as a Rockets fan, I'm glad we do. :)

  6. Somebody posted a point since last night that I want to talk about more.

I say it in that manner to build suspense because you'll all assume it's stokerino and my West Wing geekery coming to the fore.

It's not. (Although that would be great, but I'm sure at the time we'd have been 'treated' to guest appearances by Finding A Real Job Charlie, Living As A Hermit Toby, and all the rest.)

ABC ruined Whose Line is it Anyway?. They insisted on Wayne, Ryan, and Colin being in every episode - which gave the audience the impression that these three were some sort of masters of improv (even though really they just went through the motions most weeks and were frequently outshone by fourth-seaters like Greg Proops, Jeff Davis, and Brad Sherwood). Because of the decision to have three regulars, they ensured a backlash if they ever tried to do the show without at least two of those three.

As such, the Big Three could ask for more than their share of money - when any two struggling-for-a-break improv artists could have been plucked from Second City or wherever, paid far less, and put out a more enjoyable and variable show.

The Brits (in the first few years) had it right - change the cast up every week. Keeps the show fresh, and people are watching it because they like the show, not because they like "the black guy, the bald guy, and the tall guy".

Brad's easiest the least funny person on Whose Line. He's nowhere near as a good singer as Wayne or Chip or even Jeff. They really didn't have a choice, because Ryan/Colin played so well off each other, and Wayne was there for the singing. That said, Chip and Jeff were both highly underrated on that show.
