  2. A few from the World Cup so far: An espn commentator on the Mexican goalkeeper Ricardo's father passing away before their match: "He'll be disappointed with that" On ESPN the other day... "And it's Michael Beckham with the free kick" George Hamilton (RTE): "Akwa is clearly a great player for Angola, but he doesn't tend to score many goals. Although he did get five in eight qualifying games and is their top goalscorer of all time" Okacha on Guus Hidink when the female presenter asked him what he thought of him: "Well he's very Dutch" Terry Butcher after Gerrard scored vs Sweden on Five Live. Went something like: "...and that ends the 36 year hoodoo the Swedes have had over us". George Hamilton on RTE also when Gerrard scored against Sweden in the 85th minute: "And that's the winner, of that there can be no doubt". Johnny Giles: "Puerto Rico aren't great at defending..............Costa Rico............Costa Rica" Johnny Giles: "Trinidad and Costa Rica" Eamon Dunphy: "Harry Kewell is a waste of space. An absolute waster. He should have been yanked off at half time and put in the bath. A scalding hot bath... and left there for a long time." "There were no Ghana players in the box there-a disticnt lack of white bodies in the box" - Stephen Alkin.
  3. David Pleat is the man who was pernouncing Henry as the way it looks instead of the French pernounciation just a few weeks back. The best on British TV I think is Martin O'Neill, he seems to have the most knowledge and I like the way he gets in on 'what he would have done' when other managers get into sticky situations. We have Graeme Souness on Irish TV. He's been gold. And Denis Irwin. But then to make up for our good ones we have Kenny Cunningham and Mark Kinsella. I think if they shaked their heads from side to side all you would hear is a little pebble rattling.
  4. Haha I just realised how narrow minded your sig is. I'm guessing your little poem is about English pride, but why do you have to bring the IRA into it? (¬_¬) EDIT: Sorry for bringing this up in a World Cup thread, but it was under a picture of the England fans..
  5. What a goal. Supurb play from Puyol and what a finish from Torres. Spain for the WC
  6. Rebrov ¬____¬. Spurs' record signing, and worst one.
  7. Martin O'Neill is always right
  8. Woah, he looks pretty fast anyhow.
  9. There's been lots of hype over Ribery and he looks just awful so far. Lost the ball loads. And apparently Man Utd want him.
  10. Suprisingly enough, Italy were fairly supurb tonight. Hope they keep this up.
  11. Arsenal are lucky whores.
  12. Oh My Fucking God. *Shiver down spine*.
  13. Me too. The Japan/Australia match can go either way. The Aussies are tough dudes, so they'll probably play really physical against the skinny Japanese, but Japan showed against Germany that they have a lot of potential, and their coach is the legendary Zico! Czech beat USA, I can see the Czech Republic being the first "big" football country to easily win (Germany hard time with Costa Rica, Netherlands - Portugal - England win with only 1-0, Mexico have hard time with Iran). I don't see USA going "far" like last time World Cup. Italy will have a harder time with Ghana. I have faith in Ghana, I think they are able to pull off a shocker with a bit of luck. But it's Italy and they ALWAYS have luck, so they'll probably win 2-1. You tell South Korea that..... My memory is vague, care to elaborate? Did South Korea beat Italy in 2002 or something?
  14. I'm hoping this will be the year where Spain don't fuck things up. Have a good squad, just always seem to choke on the big occasion. They could go all the way.
  15. God, this came out of nowhere. First thing I thought was it must be personal problems driving him out of London.
  16. Is this on TV, bar Sky Sports? BBC or anything?
  17. What player plays in the Welsh league? I'm guessing maybe someone for Trindad or something....
