  1. I found a few stories that I thought I would share

Young Spanish hotshot Fernando Torres is being heavily linked with a shock move to Liverpool Football Club – with Michael Owen reportedly heading the other way.

New Kop coach Rafael Benitez is a huge admirer of Torres, whom he watched flourish in La Liga whilst in charge of Valencia.

And with a question mark remaining against the Anfield future of Owen, reports emanating from Spain suggest that a sensational swap deal could unfold.

England ace Owen is still to pen a new contract at Liverpool Football Club and could be receptive to any overtures from La Liga.

Both players are rated in the £20m bracket, and both have been recently linked with moves from their current employers.

Torres is one of the most highly rated young strikers in Europe, attracting the interest of a wealth of high profile suitors, including AC Milan and Manchester United Football Club.

But Liverpool Football Club have jumped to the front of the queue given their reported willingness to use Owen as bait.

Arsenal Football Club boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation of Spanish strike sensation Fernando Morientes.

The Gunners have yet to make a significant splash during the current transfer window period, but that could change dramatically with a swoop for Morientes.

The Real Madrid striker spent last season on loan at French outfit Monaco and is now back at his parent club.

But given that he faces an uphill task to dislodge either Raul or Ronaldo from the Bernebeu first team equation, Morientes’ return to Real could be short-lived.

“I am not bench player,” said the lethal hitman. "If finally I remain at Real Madrid I know that I am not a bench player.

"Ronaldo is not just anyone and to include me in the eleven ahead of him would be difficult. I do not want to return to be in the shade after what I have achieved in Monaco.”

Morientes helped steer Monaco to the Champions League Final last season - beating Real Madrid along the way - and increased his stock to around £15m.

Arsenal Football Club chief Wenger is a big admirer of the 28-year-old and would not be put off by Real’s asking price.

Birmingham City Football Club manager Steve Bruce hopes to tie up the transfers of Chelsea Football Club duo Jesper Gronkjaer and Mario Melchiot.

Bruce has already agreed a fee for the services of wing ace Gronkjaer, while Melchiot is available on a Bosman-style free transfer.

Both players have reportedly been told by new Chelsea Football Club coach Jose Mourinho that they are surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

The move for Gronkjaer in particular will now be hastened by Bruce, given Denmark’s exit from Euro 2004.

The £2m-rated star is not short of suitors, with a number of European outfits reportedly monitoring his movements.

But Bruce, having already opened dialogue with Chelsea Football Club, is in the box seat for his signature.

“I'm hoping to fly out to Copenhagen to see Jesper," said the Brum chief. "I think everyone is aware that he is a player I would dearly love to have at the club.”

Bruce is also hoping to tempt Dutch ace Melchiot to St Andrews during the current transfer window.

“It's well documented that Mario is another player I'm after and hopefully, we have made some inroads there," he confirmed.

It is looking more and more likely that James Milner will leave Leeds United Football Club this summer, with Newcastle United Football Club his most likely destination.

The 18-year-old midfielder is rated as one of the best youngsters in the country, yet Leeds’ perilous financial state and their relegation from the Premiership could see them lose their star player.

Newcastle United are long-term admirers of Milner, and Leeds director Peter Lorimer has admitted they face a fight on their hands to keep the player at Elland Road next season.

"We have gone as far as we can in terms of what we can offer James,” said Lorimer. "We've almost doubled his salary and in the present situation it would be impossible to offer him more.

"We hope the kid will stay, but we appreciate he is a much-wanted young player and if he wants to go and gets a better offer there is not much we can do about it.

"This club has lived well beyond its means in the past and we cannot go down that road again. We are trying to rescue the club, not make the cash situation worse."

Milner would cost Newcastle around £5million, yet this is a price manager Sir Bobby Robson is believed to be more than willing to meet.

Charlton Athletic Football Club boss Alan Curbishley is expected to table a bid for England Under-21 star Phil Jagielka.

The Addicks chief has a significant cash fund at his disposal and Jagielka is thought to figure highly on his transfer wish-list.

The versatile Sheffield United Football Club star is widely regarded as one of the best young talents outside the Premiership, and the Blades would be reluctant sellers as a result.

However, United manager Neil Warnock and the cash-strapped SUFC board could be receptive to bids in the region of £3m for the club’s prize asset.

Jagielka, who is equally at home in midfield or central defence, is keen to ply his trade in the top flight and United may decide to maximise his transfer worth in the event of overtures from the Valley.

    10. Hilary Duff

EDIT: <_< Shit, missed the deadline, didn't realise <_<

  4. And Alan Hansen was going to cry, to could see at the end. I have no idea why, but he said

    "Yeh, it is just heartbreaking"

And you heard in his voice that he actually wanted England to do well which is odd then he had tears in his eyes, strange that. But there you go

    WE WERE FUCKING ROBBED!

WE WON THE MATCH FAIR AND FUCKING SQUARE!

  5. I know this is a bit late but I haven't voiced my opinions on the England match yet.

We were fucking robbed, we really were, the goal in the last minute SHOULD have stood, no doubt in anyones mind that it was a perfectly good goal, I don't believe it comes down to that. One more terrible thing was the penalty spot and yes I know it goes for both ways, this is a quarter final of the European Championship and the spot should be in much better condition than that, you gert better spots in Division 3.

Our defense was once again as solid as a rock for most the game until John Terry lost a bit of concentration at the vital time to allow Postiga to equalise, Neville was solid again and didn't make any mistakes, Terry for most the game was solid, Campbell was outstanding and Ashley Cole played the best game I have ever seen him play in his career, he made a superb clearence off the line he kept Ronaldo very quiet, he didn't deserve to be on the losing team.

Now the bad peformances, David Beckham was shite again and Sven should have subbed him off because he wasn't adding anything to the game really apart from the free kick in which we scored that perfectly good goal.

At the end of the day, Portugal were the better team because of Sven's stupid 'score one goal then defend' tactics. But we were still robbed because of the goal we scored in the last minute, I still don't see the push.

  6. Hey, I support Eastbourne too, I always go and see them, they are just down he road :D

The seaosn ends in August and there is not normally anything until the next seaosn start unfortunatley. You could get him an earluy one for the last one perhaps.

So sorry there won't anything in the winter :ohwell:

  7. The opening day Premiership fixtures have been confirmed and the undoubted pick of the bunch is Manchester United's trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea.

New coach Jose Mourinho will have been hoping for an easier introduction to Premiership life, but it will give him another chance to pit his wits against Sir Alex Ferguson - after they clashed in the UEFA Champions League last season.

Mourinho guided his Porto side to victory over United with a draw in Manchester, but he will now begin his tenure as Blues chief with the ultimate match.

Chelsea then face trips to Birmingham and Crystal Palace, before their second home clash with Southampton.

The task for United looks to get easier following their game in London as they are then scheduled to play Norwich and Everton at home before travelling to Blackburn.

Champions Arsenal open their account with a trip to Goodison park to face Everton, before squaring up to Middlesbrough in their opening home match, which is followed by a Blackburn visit to North London and an away trip to Norwich.

Another mouth-watering opening day encounter is Liverpool's trip to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham.

The game is seen as one of the biggest in The Premiership calendar and the fact that both Jacques Santini and Rafael Benitez will be in charge of their respective teams for the first time, adds even more spice to the match.

Following Liverpool, Santini then faces a daunting trip to the North East to face Newcastle - after which he faces West Brom at The Hawthorns and Birmingham at home.

After his trip to Spurs, Benitez will take charge of his first game at Anfield against Manchester City, before another home clash with Portsmouth.

The fans in the North East have been given a showpiece fixture to open their seasons as Newcastle visit Middlesbrough for a Tyne-Tees derby.

After his trip to Teesside Sir Bobby Robson's men the face Spurs before facing Norwich and Aston Villa.

After facing Newcastle and Arsenal in their opening two matches, Boro then face London duo Fulham and Crystal Palace.

There is a clash of the new-boys at Carrow Road on the opening day as Norwich entertain play-off winners Crystal Palace.

The Canaries then face a horrendous looking run of matches against Manchester United, Newcastle and Arsenal.

Runners-up from Division One West Bromwich Albion face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in their first game before hosting Aston Villa and Tottenham.

After their clash with The Baggies, Blackburn face trips to Southampton and Arsenal - before a home clash with Manchester United.

Aston Villa - last season's surprise package in The Premiership - open their account against Southampton at Villa Park. They then travel to West Brom and Charlton, before another home game with Newcastle.

After their trip to the Midlands, Paul Sturrock's Saints entertain Bolton and Blackburn at St Mary's.

Birmingham City open their Premiership account at Fratton Park against Portsmouth.

Steve Bruce's men then host Chelsea and Manchester City, before facing a trip to Spurs.

Pompey will travel to Charlton and Liverpool after their opening day game, before returning to the South Coast to play Fulham.

Charlton Athletic travel to Bolton Wanderers to kick-off their campaign, before hosting Portsmouth and Aston Villa at The Valley.

Bolton travel to Fulham and Southampton after their opening match.

Manchester City begin the new season with a home match against Fulham, after which they face a trip to Anfield against Liverpool - followed by another away day at Birmingham.

After their game at The City of Manchester Stadium, Fulham remain in London to play Bolton and Middlesbrough.

Obviously, the stand out ones are Chelsea/Man Utd and Tottenham/Liverpool.

  8. Barry Hayles has joined Sheff Utd on a free.

Dennis Rommedahl is close to signing for Charlton :o

Danny Cadermartari is close to signing for Leeds

    Michael Ricketts has joined Leeds.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly agreed terms with Chelsea for Jesper Gronkjaer.

All I can remeber off the top of my head for now B)

  9. I think Czech Rep. will win it. Coming from 2-0 down agaisnt Holland is amazing, coming 1-0 down agaisnt Germany ain't bad (although it isn't over yet). They deserve to win it, and I would like them to if we don't.

EDIT: lmao, that keeper just pushed that German out the way, that could have easily been a penalty.

And like I said Baros has been causing problems, I think a big club should come in for him after the tournament. I would like to see him at Arsenal personally but we have no room for him.

  10. I actually don't, they keep missing them, I just see them throwing away more chances.

If they do a Man Utd I will be annoyed

EDIT: Who is that guy trying to be Freddie Ljungberg.

EDIT 2: What a save and what a clearence. Brilliant stuff

  11. Milan Baros has come on for someone or other.

He could cause some problems, I think he is a quality player but for some reason Liverpool don't see it.

EDIT: Why was he looking for the penalty?!?!?! That is what I mean. He could have just headed that in, the bloke didn't touch him hardly, he just fell over. If he stayed on his feet, that would have been 2-1.

Also, how people can tlak about Gerrard being the best central midfielder in the world at the same tournament where Michael Ballack is palying is just crazy.

OMG WHAT A MISS!! Ballack hits the post and someone misses a sitter, he REALLy should have scored, Schnider I think it was.

  12. I agree with the commentator, there has been an awful lot of diving in this torunament, or "simulation". In almost every match i have seen at least 4 people on different occasions go down rolling and rolling on the floor clutching their face or leg. It is getting ridiculous and refs need to clamp down on it by giving players yellow cards, they are not strict enough about it.

He said the Dutch penalty looked suspicious but I can't comment seeing as I haven't seen it but I wouldn't be suprised if someone went down and rolled and rolled.

  13. That was a good save from Kahn, could turn out to be very important.

And I would personally not want to see a England/Germany semi final, because we would end up losing on penalties, I just know it. And then Sol Campbell will miss the vital penalty and hit the bar.
