God, but even Hank on that finale!

Yeah, Barry had a BRUTAL Season 3 finale, capping off an already brutal season. And I mean that in the best way. That episode was probably the most I’ve been emotionally invested so far.

watched RRR the other night.
And you should watch it too.
You watched an electric saw?

I’m cautiously excited for that. I gather it won’t start off with the surface premise of “Look at these genuine good guys!” the way the comic did, but follow in the same spirit.

It’s absolutely as good as people say. Accessible for absolutely anyone, a lot of heart, super relatable characters, organic conflict, and fuckin’ STYLE.
I LOVE when Marvel hires creatives with their own unique vision and let them just do their thing. It paid off with Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Guardians, WandaVision, Multiverse of Madness, and even a focused genre piece like Winter Soldier. More of this please!
I can’t wait to see how Ms. Marvel unfolds.

No. No. Please god no.

I can get down with that. I assume we’re gonna end up with a lot more casting announcements later, featuring a handful of oddballs.

Ardal’s Swedish drinking song was fucking delightful.

Y’all should check out Semantle. It’s all about finding the correct word through related words and their meaning. It’s my favorite variant to pop up.

Just saw Men. (Also the movie. Wahey.) That movie is a hell of a thing. Gonna be processing it for a while.

“Is that true? Uh-huhhh….”

Yeah, it’s been a VERY good season so far, with a few all-time classic moments.
Bridget barely managing to bang a pot while on the ground is iconic. Chris is real discovery for me. I especially loved his sausage game and “No way!” Listen to his episode of the podcast for a wonderful tidbit about his history with the show. Judy can spin golden bullshit out of anything, even if it gets her no points. Ardal is just a wonderfully cheeky twist on the usual elder statesman slot. Watching him and Chris play like little boys together is a joy. Sophie was my hope to win going into the season and basically still is. I’ll be quite happy with Chris too. Or anyone, really.
Also, those composited tasks (the high fives and the meeting) we’re phenomenal.

I bawled at that movie.

It looks like the original movie with none of the gay and therefore awful.

Is X-Men ‘97 intended to be continuation of the animated series? And what’s Werewolf by Night?
-
Damn. I dig Starstruck and Solar Opposites. Can’t recall if they made my list, because I was spoiled for choice.

Ah. Fair. I feel like it’s never wise to put faith in rumors with the MCU, as they can easily go either way. And honestly? I’m glad that didn’t happen. Just would have fueled a lot of false hope and fears.

That was a fucking fun movie. Keep letting directors with specific styles take on character franchises that match up well.
SpoilerAnd I loved how OP Wanda is. I didn’t take the Illuminati as chumps, just woefully outmatched.
That WandaVision post-credits scene could have gone one step further in setting Wanda up for this, but I’ll take what I got.
Some people in our theater were laughing at moments that weren’t going for comedy, but that’s gonna happen when Raimi does his thing and just leans HARD into the comic book cheesiness. Specific moments included the first time someone says The Illuminati and a lot of Corpse Strange’s dialogue. But I LOVED that they went for that cheese. That’s comic books, baby.
And god, yeah, those horror touches were amazing. The first-person views, the fixed cameras on panicking faces, the fucking GORE and body horror - just so much quality.
I’m looking forward to getting more America Chavez, as well as Fantastic Four and X-Men.
What’s everyone referring to with Tom Cruise as Iron Man?

This makes me miss @Katsuya’s EWB Eurovision game.

I figured all EWB posters would be required to play the Big’un in Wigan.

God, this show keeps firing on all cylinders. I loved this most recent one.
Also: oh hi, Chet Hanks.

The thing that makes it off-putting for me is that I’d much rather watch on my TV, not my computer. And I don’t want to go to the trouble of hooking one up to the other.

So I’ve been away from MST3K for a while. How are you finding the Gizmoplex experience so far?

Yeah, it’s still a good one. Was Iain Sterling the issue? For what it’s worth, he becomes more self-aware as it goes and he ultimately felt terrible about coming off like an asshole. Lou Sanders herself has very nice things to say about him.
