not sure how i feel about these
I generally enjoy them. They’re ads, but genuinely good tasks on their own.

After reading more about what happened, I hope every producer - including Baldwin - gets charged with an assortment of things, even manslaughter.

It’s absolutely unreal. This has to be human error somewhere and it will have to be addressed, possibly leading to the end of careers and criminal negligence. These things are preventable. It’s a question of who exactly is responsible.

@The Redeemer CLDY. Reservation Dogs is so good.
Absolutely. One of this year’s best shows. Skoden.

Some good recs in here.

Prom Night I saw. It was okay. Couldn’t get through Maniac. The ones that lean into misogyny are a no-go for me (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Last House on the Left, etc.)
Might have to give The Burning and Terror Train a shot!

Bah. Wish I had Shudder. Perhaps one day. And Prime apparently does differ between Canada and the US.

Hit me with some of your favorite horror flicks. No need for a long list, just 2-4. Especially interested in the stuff that’s currently on US streaming platforms.
I just finished watching more of both the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Jason Goes to Hell is, maddeningly, the only one I can’t access, so I’ve paused that series until I can. Yes, this means I’m eventually gonna watch the remakes and whatnot.
Boy, Freddy’s Dead is a stinker. But Dream Child was better than I expected, if not as good as some others. FtT: A New Beginning was utter horseshit. Jason Lives was kinda cool. Takes Manhattan is suuuuch false advertising. Not only did NO ONE take that borough, they don’t even get to New York until the final act.
Wishing I could fill in my Candyman and Halloween gaps, but the key ones aren’t accessible.
On a completely different note, Cronenberg’s The Brood is on HBOMax right now and I HIGHLY recommend it.

To a certain degree, it really fits the “cowtown puppet show” vibe, and I dig that.

Oh god, that’s a good one. Jessica Knappet is wonderful.

I was almost amazed that only Morgana even tried to find a hidden clue.

Man, I dunno. If the controls and graphics are updated, I might be sold. I loved all 3, never played enough of III to beat it, and San Andreas I sunk a ton of time into.

Gotta catch those early bird dinner specials.

She’s a wicked genius.

Morgana’s gonna win it all and I’m for it.

Malignant is ultimately bog standard cheesy horror with a unique premise and aspirations of being serious. It’s ultimately a fun watch, but you’ll roll your eyes/laugh at the writing and performances.

Yeah, TLJ is top-tier.

I think Barry is a really exceptional television show in a lot of ways, but I disliked it for spoiler reasons which I will not get into. My husband really liked it, but I could not continue watching after the first season.
I absolutely get that perspective. I know the bit you’re referring to.

High Rise
The Platform
The Death of Stalin
Sorry to Bother You
Those are five excellent films that jump to the front of my mind.
We JUST watched The Platform. I’m still sorting out how I feel about it, but it’s definitely great horror.
Sorry to Bother You is an excellent suggestion.

Yeah, I’m super on board with Season 12 after that episode. I think Morgana Robinson might be my favorite to watch this season, regardless of how well she does.

Just to provide contrast, I quite like Barry and I absolutely adored Knives Out.

Yeah, I have no problem with the things you have listed. They never bothered me at all. And I feel like the show has made similar logical pretzels countless times before. Hardly anything new.

I’m a bit mystified when people drag the last couple of series. I was suuuuper on board with it as a bit of a soft reboot that was sorely, sorely needed after the bitter mess Moffat made. And I loved both that incarnation of the Doctor and her companions.
All that said RTD was a fantastic show runner and I have faith he’ll do just as well a second time around. If I understand correctly, the only reason he left last time was because of his partner’s declining health from brain cancer. It seems he actually still had a great interest in the show and more he wanted to do. With having had time to grieve and process, it looks like he’s fully ready to go.
My only gripe with it all is that I hate this feeling it creates of, “Those last two series were the worst, thank God they’re gonna undo all that mess!” I still quite like it.
