  1. Anyway, I hope a patch in the 'works' doesn't mean waiting months, as THQ always do. Hopefully it's this month. Shame we cant have it my way and ban anyone who quits online.

That wouldn't be a good idea since its possible someone could have legitimately lost their internet connection.

  2. So how exactly were the rest of your stats? I don't see how you can do that but at the same time improve much upon sparring stats, if at all, including the training camps. I must be doing something wrong, because if someone can get their guy to awesome inside 10 fights, then I certainly am.

I tend to up my strength first when playing career mode. I'm good enough that not having the other stats as high doesn't affect me too much.

  3. To block transitions you have to hold the R stick either left or right when they are attempting to transition, if you want to reverse, flick the stick as soon as you see them start to transition.

edit: rather then use a new post, What's everyone's online record for ranked matches? Mine is like 44-7.

  4. I swear on expert the computer fucking cheats in order to stop you from going undefeated.

I had a situation last night where I started a lightweight boxing/judo guy and I got to about my 10th or 11th fight against Thiago Tavares and the fucking bastard must have cheated because he applied a submission (in the first round) when I have full fucking energy (and near full stam) and he completely drained all my energy before he tapped me out. I have max str for a lightweight (80) so at that point in time there is no fucking way he should have been able to submit me.

  5. Don't panic and start to spam transitions. Defend yourself and try to time your transitions with as soon as your opponent starts his attack. Also minor transitions have a higher change of success then major ones so keep that in mind.

  6. Honestly, if you're struggling on the ground so much, you really need to practise more, it's that simple. It's not easy to get the hang of it straight away for some people, it took me a while at first, but once you get into your stride then you realise it's not actually too hard. As people have said many times, just don't panic, otherwise you'll screw yourself. If they mount you, the best thing to do is block. Keep it there until they start firing for a combo or something and then look to reverse it. Don't go crazy and try to reverse it non stop, otherwise your stamina will drain away within an instance.

Been going through my Lightweight career a little today and lost my first fight against Florian for the title in my first challenge for it. Went to the fifth round and he killed me with a head kick, gutted but very happy with the fight. Still annoyed that a classic back and fourth five round fight isn't classed as fight of the night, yet seemingly a first round KO is. In my Welterweight career though, I could only get my wrestling and boxing up to level 3. In this career it's allowing me to go passed level 3 for Muay Thai, which surprised me, just working on level 4 now, is that the highest level? I'm still level 2 for BJJ, does that only go to 3? I came back from the loss anyway with a victory over Sean Sherk and then beat BJ Penn for the title via TKO, which he claimed was pathetic and the official stopped it early, ha.

Yes level 4 is the highest you can get your striking and grappling skills. I personally never went over 3 for either.

I think I'm going to mix it up a little and try Boxing/Wrestling or Boxing/Judo in career since once I get BJJ to level 2 its basically over for my opponents.
