  1. JohnnyPerfect supports Juventus, Man Utd and the others because they are his local team! He is a citizen of the world!

I support West Ham because my uncle did, so had me in a West Ham shirt at the earliest opportunity. And when I was younger, we had a fun team of plucky British youngsters! We're still terrible, but it's fun being the underdog. And every few years, we get to go to Wembley in the Play-off Final.

When I got into football as a kid, I lived a stone's throw away from Spurs Lodge and one of our neighbours was Chris Armstrong. Plus, big Jewish family <_<

You couldn't throw a stone there. It's a really long road.

Unless you lived in the tip or Old Loughtonians.

  2. Thought I'd listen to 606 for a laugh and Chelsea fans (and Mourinho by the sounds of it) complaining about West Ham "parking the bus", as if that is cheating somehow. Clearly they should have gone and tried to play free flowing football away from home against one of the best sides in the league.

Or got more of their shots on target. 30 shots off target! 30!

    That's terrible.

  3. If Manchester United intend to buy Newcastle's best player as a guaranteed starter, less than a week after breaking their transfer record on a player originally on similar wages with years left on their contract, then they should be looking for at least a Fellaini priced offer.

Saying "Newcastle should be glad for the money" doesn't work if the team doesn't need to sell and can afford to get the best deal for the player, especially when the player's value could skyrocket after a good World Cup showing.

Yeah, Mata is a great signing, but spunking that much on a bit-part player in another side gives other clubs a lot of negotiation. They are going to end up over-paying for lots of players just to regain a bit of pride in the league.

  4. Finally got around to watching Brooklyn 99 since it arrived in the UK on Thursday. Expected crap from what I'd seen of the adverts, but can now see why it gets a lot of praise. Got a few laughs out of me looks strong to carry on.

I thought the same. The trailer made it look on the same quality-level as Dads, but really, it's outstanding. One of the few shows that I can find regularly entertaining week on week.

Uncle on the other hand is wonderfully funny. If it weren't for BBC3, BBC comedy would be abysmal.

I found Uncle a bit so-so, but BBC3 is quite good for comedy. I loved Bad Education.

Also - more people need to watch series 2 of The Bridge because I have nobody to discuss it with. :( It's all on iPlayer. The Guardian called it the best TV show since Breaking Bad. I am nearly at the point where I am just going to torrent the last four episodes, as I can't wait to see it on TV. >_>

  5. The only people the West Ham squad have confidence in are themselves, and 99% of the time it is misplaced. They're a bunch of self-important twats.

West Ham's best bet is to get Steve Clarke in on a short term deal, try and boost the squad with loan signings, and hope there's three worse teams than us come May. We'd also be best off not having the Olympic Stadium, as it's deals like that which have Gold & Sullivan convinced West Ham are a team that's competing for European trophies.

  6. A Premier League footballer has been charged with assaulting a police officer over an incident at an Essex night club popular with celebrities.
West Ham player James Tomkins, 24, was refused entry at the Sugar Hut Village in Brentwood early on Sunday and security staff called police.
Mr Tomkins was taken into custody and charged with assault, resisting arrest and being drunk and disorderly.
He will appear at Basildon Magistrates' Court on 9 January, police said.
Earlier in the day he had played against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
A police spokesman said: "Officers were called by security staff from the Sugar Hut Village shortly before 00:30 GMT on Sunday following reports of a disturbance."
He added that Mr Tomkins, from Brentwood, was later charged with one count of assaulting a police officer, one count of resisting arrest and one count of being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
The defender was released on police bail until his court appearance.

At the station, Tomkins claimed he was a builder. When it was discovered that he was actually a footballer, he was all PHONE MR ALLARDYCE. MR ALLARDYCE WILL SAY SO.

    A prize bellend.
