  1. I just wish they'd hurry up with the first patch. I managed to get through the first season without any major problems (If you examine my earlier post then you'll see that I actually did quite well) but the Rooney bug is pissing me off. I can get by without him for England (Indeed Crouch and Defoe are in awesome form for the Three Lions, and Owen's just made his return!). Having such a well known player unable to play for his country is a pain, and really impacts on the way I want to play the game.

OK I have got my LLM game goin on. As well as tearing up Serie B as Juve, and am looking to start a Madrid game and assemble a team that'll, you know, actually WIN things (inspired by the recent 442 article). But I've always played CM/FM as England/Spurs manager(s), regardless of 'cheating' it's how I enjoy the game and want to be able to play it without all the bugs, or at least being able to pick all my eligable players for England.

  2. I've pretty much been playing it all day and I'm only just at the bit where you name your own team. You have to save the Omega Base (Which is like the second level) first before you're recognised as a team, I think. So far I have Collossus, The Human Torch, Wolverine and Deadpool as my leader, but I'm swapping Torch out for Ghost Rider when I unlock him.

  3. Got it today.

Been enjoying playing as the Fantastic 4!

My created team are the 'Iron Knights' Iron Man, Spider-Man (havn't unlocked the 'Iron Spider' costume yet but that's my reasoning) Deadpool (just cos he's cool) and Spider Woman (Well, she's got a red and gold costume!)

  4. And can anyone recommend me a Conference South team. One with some good prospects, but not one that's guranteed promotion. Cheers!

Farnborough...they start the season with 10 points deducted, and despite being predictied to have a decent mid table finish the team fucking sucks. They have a pittance, and give you nothing at all for transfers.

  5. Well booo-hoooo. I wouldn't be re-starting if the game wasn't buggy.

Poor Rooney. Gets picked on by Ref's AND the 'Worlds Greatest Managment Game.'

Was thinking of starting a game as Oxford, seeing as they play within spitting distance of me (and before anyone starts about me supporting Spurs, I grew up in MK, OK? Before we had 'Franchise FC.' And my Grandad was a Spurs supporter).

Also thinking of a Juventus game, how many points do they start the season dropped?

And can anyone recommend me a Conference South team. One with some good prospects, but not one that's guranteed promotion. Cheers!

  6. Cheers for the info guys.

Looks like I'll have to do a re-start with his Rooney's ban removed or something.

Or wait until an update comes out.

Maybe now I've got some good tactics set I can actually beat Chelsea (yeah yeah...'cheating' I know).

  7. I started out trying to play them in chronological order recently.

Got 4-5 missions into Vice city before FIFA 07 and FM 2007 stole my attention, and now Vice City stories kinda makes my plans a bit outta whack!

  8. OK. Had a PHENOMINAL first season with Spurs.

Won the league cup (beat West Ham), finished second in the league (and were the only club who even stood a chance of catching chelsea with 10 games to go), Won the UEFA cup (beat Benfica) and won the FA Cup (Beating Man U, and knocking out Liverpool and then Chelsea 6-1 at the Bridge on the way).

Problem was too much fixture congestion towards the end of th season, I ended up playing something like 7 games in the final two weeks, THEN had to play the cup finals. (FA Cup final was especially good, Spurs were counter-attacking all match, we got an early goal from Teemu Tainio, then they equalised through Rooney, it went to extra time and in the 115th minute Tainio pops up to head us the winner!).

Speaking of Rooney I'm also playing as England manager and I'm having some problems. He starts off with a two game suspension (From his world cup sending off). So I left him out of my first two squads. I included him in the next one and was able to play him in a friendly, but for the next competetive game he was suspended (for two games, sending off). I can play him for non-competetive games, but he's always suspended for the qualifyers. Is there some way I can fix this, an editor or something, or will I have to start the game again :(

And out of curiosity: If a player is suspended for an international, do you have to include him in your squad still, or can you leave him out and he'll still serve his ban, being available for the next squad?

  9. Anyone else having a torrid time DLing from sortitoutsi?

I've managed to get the premier kits and pics and badges but I'd like to get some stuff for the Bundesliga and french league.

Anyone know any other good sites that arn't as buggy as sortitoutsi at the moment?

  10. Hannnigan! How can people suggest shes not hot? Two things stop her from being my all time perfect woman:

1: Alexis Denisof (Lucky Bastard. All those scenes with Liah and Fred, THEN he goes home to Ally!).

2: She doesn't live like, right next door to me. (Admittedly she'd be out of place. Most of my neighbors are assholes, druggies and drop-outs. And the ones on the other side of the house are Arsenal supporters!).

And Maria Who? Lol. Lucky CM Punk. Not only the darling of the IWC, but he's hitting THAT!

  11. Gotta throw a mention in here for Keith Richards.

It's been said that there's no Rolling Stones without Keith Richards (regardless of Jagger's vocals and Ronnie Wood's guitar work they are very vocal that Charlie Watts is the 'Engine' of the band and that they all follw Keith's Guitar on stage, from the early days when Charlie used to sit by Keith's Amp and that was all he could here).

Regardless of personal preferance, they are one of the most enduring act's in rock and roll history, and Keith Richards has so many memorable guitar riffs he has to be mentioned. Plus he's still touring today, when so many of his contemporaries are sadly no longer with us.

Otherwise, just based on preference I've gotta say Hendrix and Clapton.

  12. They've woven musical performances into the show before, I'd imagine they will make a damn funny musical episode.

Though it'll inevitably be compared to Buffy, it really shouldn't. Scrubs is a comedy first, with dramatic elements, Buffy was the opposite.

  13. Respect to V for filling his list up with Pornstars!

  14. Former Renault Team Leader sheds light on Ferrari Move.

Mark Sainsbury today shed some light on his controversial decision to move from a competetive Renault drive, to take the #2 drivers position at Ferrari.

'It's every racer's dream to race a Ferrari' the Oxford-based driver commented. 'Last season I had some problems with reliability at the start of the season, then maybe lost some motivation towards the end. Ferrari is my dream team, and has one of the most loyal fanbases in all of F1. I wouldn't dream of letting the Tifosi down.'

Sainsbury finished by wishing his former Renault Team-mate, Liam Byrne, luck with his new drive at McLaren: 'He's a good driver, we had some memorable battles on the track last year, there were never any team orders and I'm looking forward to racing him again.'
