  1. Installed the game fine, and set up a new game, but the injuries and everything else means I have to download the patch. I'm now downloading the patch, how big is it? I'm on 85mb already Also anyone got a link for the kits and badges for the Premier League? Oh and how to get them to work
  2. Steam is only one method of buying it, you don't have to use Steam at all if you don't want to. I just bought the retail copy as usual and then it asks you how you want to register it when you install it - I just picked Internet. Then when you play it for the first time you input the code on the back of the manual (check here: http://keylookup.fm2009.softanchorinsight.com/ if it doesn't work first time if you have 0's or 1's that could be letters or numbers). Then after that you don't need the CD in your drive or have to be connected online. Of course if you want to use Steam, you can just purchase it through there and it does all that for you. Alternatively, you can just register your retail copy through Steam. The advantage of Steam is that it'll update your game automatically for you with any patches. But if you don't already have Steam and don't want to install it then you can just register like I did above and download patches from the SI website and apply them yourself, which is straightforward anyway. Hope that helps. EDIT: The latest patch is here: http://www.sigames.com/downloads.php?type=...84&file=482 if you want to install it yourself, it includes all previous updates so it's the only one you need. Ta Scott. I was getting very confused with this steam business, but I think I get it now. I've ordered the game off Play and I'll get it tomorrow I reckon. So I can just install it like FM08 and then install the patch easy enough? If I get any problems, I can guarentee you'll be getting a PM
  3. Okay EWB, I need your help. I'm going to buy Football Manager 2009 over the next few days but only if I can figure out how to get it to fucking work. I've read so much about how I have to register it and download through something called steam, but I've got no idea how to do it. I usually just buy the game a few days after release and away I go. So I could really do with someone posting (or PM'ing) instructions on how I get the game up and running, preferably with the latest patches installed aswell. Thank You
  4. Terry should have also gone after the final whistle ... I think that's possible anyway Oh and Mike Riley
  5. Just seen the Carson incident again aswell as the red card. Robinson is unlucky, very unlucky but that's Rob Styles for ya - as for Carson, well There's no contact from anyone; Vidic or his own man. He just drops the ball onto his own knee.
  6. Although I have to laugh at the "Anderson will score" bit. I said I was pushing it
  7. Aahh. Well what can I say? I'm brilliant I wonder how far I can push this... Anderson will score from 30 yards out against Arsenal at Old Trafford on the way to a 4-0 victory
  8. Why can't you say stuff like this about Arsenal.... You'll have to excuse me, I'm really tired .. please explain Anywhooooo Ronaldo with his second of the game 5-0 to United
  9. AT FUCKING LAST He's been really unlucky over the past few weeks, with shots going just wide or over the bar but now I think he'll kick on a get maybe 15 more before the end of the season. This all helps our goal difference aswell. Just hope they can hang onto the clean sheet.
  10. VIDIC!!! He is the best defender in the world at the moment. Excluding his little blip against Spurs
  11. Carson is and will always be useless. How he gets in England squads ahead of Rob Green is beyond me. Here come Stoke
  12. West Brom are playing well, we're not doing too bad but I certainly expect us to kick on after this first goal and get three or four. And of course keep a clean sheet to get rid of another Chelsea record
  13. Take Evans off and play with 10 men. It's not going to make any difference and we need him.
  14. This could get silly. At half time, Fergie needs to bring everyone together and make the other 10 club together and give him a goal. Or at least give him a penalty
  15. O'Shea took fucking ages to put that away. Neville really, really worries me at centre half. Especially in contrast to the way Evans, Vidic and Rio have defended in the past months.
  16. Carroll should've saved that really. Nani is still useless though Rafael still hasn't learned how to tackle.
  17. As soon as Commons hit that shot, a shooting pain went through both of my arms
  18. United can only lose the title now. Go on ... argue with me
  19. I'm taking it you're being sarcastic. I wasn't suggesting they go gung-ho, but when they had the corner, why not try and score, I'm not saying stick everyone in the box but y'know they could've tried to give themselves a better chance to win the tie overall rather than try and defend the lead from a single tie. I'm actually not. I really couldn't understand it. We're obviously going to score at Old Trafford so they'd have been better attempting to get a two goal lead.
