  1. Even though we got annihilated in the prem this season, partly due to the naivety of our tactics, if we keep this squad together, along with Wayne Bridge + other signings, we will dominate this league. The final 6/7 games with Adkins in charge we looked a different team, and with a summer of pre season to adapt further to his style of play will help.

Having a Midfield consisting of Kebe, Hal Robson Kanu, Guthrie, Karacan and Carrico is very strong for the Championship.

  2. Danny Welbeck is painfully average.

I mean in a sense that he plays for United, His Country and in the Premier League, he obviously isn't. But he is nowhere near the calibre of a Striker an England National Team should be banking on.

  3. Jermaine Beckford, David Nugent, Tommy Smith, MIchael Chopra, Robert Earnshaw etc.

Eh it could go either way but more often than not these sort of strikers bomb. Shane Long was always Premier League quality by the way, he wasn't and still isn't prolific but he had 50 Premier League games before he signed for West Brom.

As a Reading fan i'd disagree, it was only really when Kevin Doyle left and we had to give him a run in the first team because we had no one else didn't he really step up. He looked largely unfit for a few seasons and nothing was clicking.

2 seasons ago when we charged into the play off's he was fantastic though. Seems to have matured and adapted to the Premier League well.

  4. I support AFC Bournemouth. I only look forward to Reading because it's local-ish, I have family there, so it's the perfect excuse, and we owe them a beating for that horrendous 3-3 all those years ago. The ground and sorrounding areas I know to be as bad as Pride Park.

    Forster and Cureton. *shudders*

I went down to the friendly in the summer in Bournemouth, lovely little day out, so i'm glad Bournemouth have gone up, would like Brentford to go up too as Reading have had some decent matches with them in the past and its another easy to get to game.

  5. He's always seemed like a strong, decent defender, so I'm happy with that. Can't imagine him being first choice but he should be able to do a job.

I'm imagine he's being brought in so that we can either ship Coates off on loan or permanently. He'll be behind Agger and the Skrtel/Carragher replacement/s in the pecking order.

He's alright, but he's agonizingly slow, Rodgers gave him the captains armband at 21 when he was manager at Reading though so that says something about his mental strength I guess

  6. I like the excuse Roy used that he didn't make any subs as he had no one on the bench who could alter the course of the game.

Then why on earth did you pick them to be on the bench ffs?

He has to pick a 23 man squad (or whatever it is) and all of those players are automatically on the bench. He couldn't just call up 11 players.

For different reasons though, I find that excuse to be a very weak one from Roy.

Yeah, I mean one part of his job is to pick a 23 man squad to get the job done. He then turns around with his hands up in the air saying there wasn't anyone who could do the job on the bench....

  7. I think the target is 35 points for survival. Thats 4 wins in 8 games. We got Southampton and QPR at home, as well as Norwich, West Ham and Fulham away, which you wouldn't say we can win but it wouldn't be a shock.

But we've only won 5 games this season, so if you put it that way its pretty impossible.

Shame, we went up unexpectedly last season and we didn't take advantage of it, we should of strengthened in the summer, and when it was obvious in January we needed to strengthen, we did barely any deals.

    Oh well.
