"In the future, everyone will manage Blackburn for 15 minutes"- 3
-
Luis Enrique has suddenly became the 2nd favourite with the bookies to take over at Reading.
I'd like that, Barca B side manager, so used to playing attacking, fluid football.
-
Nobody in their right mind would go to Blackburn, but now McDermott is out a job?

Apparently the Reading squad have said they don't want Di Canio as the manager. I've also heard Adkins is the boards choice, but his lawsuit with Southampton may scupper that.
With RDM unlikely, Gus Poyet is probably my odds on favorite to take over.

He will find another job easy this summer, any championship team would be happy to have him, I think his naivety in the Prem has ultimately cost him the job, we played old school 4-4-2 hoofball football, which is probably because of the talent available, or should I say lack of talent available to play anything else effectively.
Was never expecting much from this season anyway, we over acheived with this squad last season, and by not strengthening sufficiently, it was obvious we were going to be murdered in this league. Luckily, it hasn't been too bad and we have kept somewhat competitive, but we are still playing the worst football ive seen us play since the mid 90's when we had Tommy Burns as boss.

I personally want Di Matteo, but probably a bit of a strech, and interest has cooled on him. Di Canio im unsure about, purely because he's a character, and not something we usually go for, but it may work as he will put the boot to the players no doubt.
I'd like Nigel Adkins but I think he's still disputing his dismissal at Southampton, which makes him unavailable for work until resolved. Phil Parkinson is a legend at the club, and if we went down i'd take him at Championship level no doubt. Alex McLeish without a job is scaring me sensless though.
Gus Poyet has thrown his hat in too apparently.
Im just annoyed that we sacked Brian with 9 games left, and it looks more and more like we didn't already have a replacement lined up. It has Wolves last season written all over it.

So depressing, but the vibe around the place after saturday wasn't great, he has seemingly lost the board and the dressing room. Shame, likable man and our 2nd most successful manager in history.
Thanks for all the hard work Brian, but the Prem is one step too far for your tactics.
We are down no matter who is in charge, I think the idea was that someone can bed in well and assess the squad for the championship next season, with the remote chance that they galvanise the team and actually get us out the bottom 3.

Yeah the Deftones show was good. Made me realise just how awesome the new album really is. Probably one of their best

For the first time this season, I think after the Chelsea game, we ( Reading) can actually survive. We have all the teams around us to play at home, and if we continue our January form into Feb and March we will make it over the line.
All we need is Le Fondre to keep up his scoring record, Kebe to run more directly at defenders, Pogrebnyak to show a bit more muscle up front, and Morrison to return to his pre injury form and we will be fine.
-
Apparently Reading had a 10m + bid rejected for Gylfi yesterday.
Not sure whether we disclosed this to give off the impression to the fans that we were looking to spend, but it didn't work out, or it was actually a genuine offer.
-
Danny Graham to Middlesbrough apparently?
-
only 2m for Redmond, surprised a few of the smaller Prem teams haven't taken a punt
-
It looks like Reading are going to do their usual, slow first half of season, hit form after Christmas routine, thats been in affect since McDermott took charge. This would be the 4th season in a row if we keep up the good work.
-
ADAM LE FONDRE!
-
Tom Ince would be a great signing for Reading. Doubt we are actually seriously pursuing him though, probably faking interest to keep the fans from moaning that we are spending next to no money on lower league players.
-
4 wins now on the trot for Reading ( 2 fa cup and 2 prem). I like the FA Cup, its been a catalyst for good performances for us the past couple of seasons, and has usually coincided with good league form

New Bronx album is killer.
-
It shouldnt of happened, but the kid is clearly a dolt. So for that I have no sympathy for him.
Also why is a 17yr old a ball boy?!
-
Hoping this completely derails Southampton, from a Reading fans point of view.
-
Jay Tabb has been told he can find a new club this transfer window by Reading.
-
Ive been suprised no teams like Newcastle or Aston Villa have taken a punt on Kevin Doyle. Probably get him for about 4m and could do a decent job with the right partner up front.
-
Reading are close to signing young Crawley Town Midfielder Hope Akpan.
So much for wanting to buy experienced Premier Leauge players this window McDermott.....

Not sure about the appointment, he turned us down last week, obviously we came back with more money and he's accepted. Seems like he's taken the job because of money rather the the challenge
