  1. And those two were traded for nothing, so there's still spots left to fill and I'm not sure there's enough money to get valuable players with this market. Rondo/Wade would've been great if this was the early 2010's, not in 2016-17. These guys can't play 35+ mpg.

I'm hoping for the best, and that these weird squad surprises everyone (but I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen). God help Jimmy Butler.

  2. I went to the Corona Capital festival in Mexico City this past weekend. It was a two-day event, and Arctic Monkeys/Queens of the Stone Age/deadmau5/Sigur Ros/Phoenix/The xx were the headliners.

I went both days, and it was amazing. Imagine Dragons completely surprised me, I didn't expect them to get all the crowd riled up like that, I almost died in the middle while picking up a girl on my shoulders. I skipped deadmau5 to go watch M.I.A. and it was awesome, she totally killed it.

On Sunday, I watched Gary Clark, Jr. and at the end of his set, his drummer threw his drumsticks to the crowd and hit a dude on the face who wasn't paying attention. They took him backstage and took pictures with him. Jimmy Eat World was there too, I only know a couple of songs from them, and they played them last. I barely heard Pain since we were already leaving to the other stage to get a good spot to watch Arctic Monkeys. Vampire Weekend played before them, and I don't know whether it was the fact that I was so anxious to watch the Monkeys or what, but their performance was boring as hell, and it felt like it lasted like 2 hours. It was awful to me. No words for Arctic Monkeys, they are just amazing. They played like 16 songs and it was like you were hearing the record, they sound exactly like they do on the albums. Just flat-out great.

  3. Apparently Jones broke his foot in the first round, but kept kicking anyway. No wonder he needed a stretcher.

I heard it was his knee the one that got injured. Either way, he just kept kicking like nothing was wrong.

Gus' takedown defense and boxing was what impressed me the most.

Gus' boxing looked so sharp and clean, like a lot of shots hit Bones in the face even though he had his guard up and was trying to back away. No matter what, they just kept connecting Bones. And his lateral movements and how he controlled the distance - which is something Bones has always dominated against his opponents, was amazing.

Every time Bones shot for the takedown, Gus sprawled fast and stopped Jones easily. Plus, you can really see that he studied Bones' spinning back elbows, 'cause every time he shot them Gus would duck (until Bones got the timing of that and connected that one in the 4th, which he shot low because he knew Gus would try to avoid it by going down) I'm not disagreeing about Bones winning, I understand that Round 2 could've gone either way, but seriously 49-46 or 50-45 are ridiculous. I've watched the fight twice, and I just don't see how Bones could've won R1 or R3.

  4. Wasn't about to shell out cash for this, but man that fight sounded close! Lots of outrage over Jones getting the 49-46 from one judge.

Naturally, ESPN's edit made Jones look dominant.

Actually, the round-by-round highlights the UFC showed after Bones was announced the winner were also very pro-Bones.
I'm not a Jones hater or a tinfoil hat conspiracy guy but it's not surpising they'd want Bones to look good. Gus isn't the one with the Nike and Gatorade deals.

Yeah, I understand the strategy. But from the look of the highlights alone, it looks ilke Bones dominated the fight. Which is a really bad deal for Gus, specially if you might make a rematch.

  5. I had it 48-47 for Gustafsson, with Gus winning 1-2-3 and Jones getting 4-5, but Round 2 could've easily gone either way.

49-46 for Bones is a criminal scorecard.

I've seen so many varying opinions on fb.

Some give Jones either/both Round 1 and 3 and others give Gusty Round 4.

If they were only $10-15 cheaper, I'd think about buying the PPVs myself. :( $25 less and I'd probably buy every single one regardless of overall quality.

People seriously think Gus won Round 4? No way.

  6. Fully expect everyone to hate on the Browns for this based on the perception Richardson is a good RB (something he was in college and you'd think he was based on his draft status), but I absolutely love it for a few reasons.

    1. Like I mentioned, Trent is not that good. Having watched every pro game he's played in so far, he is incredibly slow, dances around rather than hitting holes, and is incredibly injury prone.

    2. The Browns have all the ammunition (and the bad team) to get Teddy Bridgewater. This team is not going to win anything, no matter how many good players on the team, until they get a franchise QB. Do whatever it takes to get one and the other pieces fall as they will

    3. This current regime has no ties to Richardson or where he was picked, so it is irrelevant to them he was taken 3rd overall. To get a 1st for him at all in a league where RB is a dying position...I love it.

Again, hate all you will, but I am a big fan of this trade.

This, he has great potential but it's not being developed correctly:

    - In 17 games, Richardson only has 2 runs of over 20 yards.

    - Only three rookie RBs ever with 250+ carries and 3.6 ypc or less. (Ricky Williams, Errict Rhett and Trent Richardson)
