  1. Looks like the Titans are in complete-rebuild mode. Lots of staff moves lately:

    - Feb. 07: Mike Munchak's named Head Coach.

    - Feb. 08: Mike Heimerdinger is fired from his Off. Coordinator job.

    - Feb. 09: Bruce Matthews is named Off. Assistant

    - Feb. 12: Jerry Gray is signed as Def. Coordinator.

Bunch of moves but still no news on the QB situation, I don't mind Kerry Collins but he's a vet and he isn't the future of this franchise or who I see as someone who can take us all the way.

Someone at another board speculated that they may try to go after Kevin Kolb. If they don't go after him or do but can't cut a deal (I'm betting its more likely he ends up with 49ers or Vikings) and decide to draft a QB instead, I just hope they don't pick Jake Locker.

Kolb? Hmm. I don't think that could work out, I don't see him as someone who fills our needs. He's not bad at all, he's decent but I don't think he is what I would like for the Titans from this point on. As for Jake Locker: I haven't watched much of him to make an opinion, what's he like? accurate, big arm, fast-agile... how?

  3. I don't want the players to get screwed, I don't want any extra games, I definitely want some kind of restriction on the money top draft picks make. Firstly, no one should ever be getting guaranteed millions without having even played a down at the pro level, and secondly because no one wants the first fucking pick anymore, it's almost handcuffing teams rather than helping them rebuild.

Oh, and I'd like to see some sort of provision put in for retired players and their healthcare, especially the guys who weren't around for the silly money contracts. Perhaps the fine money from illegal hits could go into a healthcare kitty or something.

Players are pretty much guaranteed to get screwed relatively speaking. I definitely want the two extra games. There will definitely be a rookie wage cap and that is a good thing. It should open up a lot more trading of draft picks which should make draft day much better. The fine money should continue to go to charity like it does for all the sports leagues but the NFL and the NFLPA have to get serious about helping the retired players. The league is making too much money not to do that. If they don't step up they are going to start losing top athletes to other sports sooner or later.

I remember hearing the Comissioner say that the money from the fines was going to a fund for retirees and charity, could be wrong but that's what I remember.

  4. Well I meant other than that. :shifty:

They have a pretty high pick though, they could probably draft a QB?

But yeah, their owner is probably one of the worst to work for in the NFL.

I don't know about that, this year's QB class isn't exactly what I would like for the Titans. I don't want Cam Newton in the Titans.

  5. Jeff Fisher and the Titans part ways.

Somewhat of a surprising news for me. After the Titans cut Vince Young loose I thought they were going to stick with Fisher at least through this next season but then they get rid of Fisher too, not sure what the plan is now. Though, I have the idea that if Bud Adams decided to cut Fisher then he must have already secured a deal with another Coach. Personally, I'd love the Titans to get Bill Cowher or Jim Gruden.

  6. Absolutley loving this. Jets have been awful, dealt with any small threat they've attempted to pose.

Going back to an earlier decision. Can somebody explain why that pass was over ruled earlier in the game? Not to say it was a wrong decision, just looked perfectly fine to me though?

What pass, the one to Heath Miller?

Yeah. Just didn't understand why after the challenge it was over ruled. It just looked fine to me, but I'm obviously guessing it wasn't after the decision, so just wondering why?

As he landed the ball went out of his hands completely and was around his elbow when it touched the ground, then he secured it. The review made it pretty clear to me.

  8. Hanie's always looked pretty good in the limited amount of snaps I've seen him play.

I've always tried to defend Cutler since he came to Chicago but I have to wonder if he cried his way out of the game because he couldn't handle the pressure. He certainly didn't seem that injured.

I think we're one more bad Jay Cutler performance away, right or wrong, from a QB controversy in Chicago.

The guy threw 4 interceptions to one guy in on game and he stayed in. I doubt he went out because he couldn't handle the pressure.
