  1. Breaking news - MATT CASSEL TO THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS! http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/02/28/chiefs-com...ade-for-cassel/ .... too bad I think Matt Cassel is a product of the system and hasn't proven himself yet, but oh well.
  2. Dawkins wants Eagles to match the offer. If they don't, Dawkins goes to Denver. Don't know what happened after all of that though. But what I'm really confused about is how Redskins have all of this money. By my calculations, they should be 17 million dollars over the cap right now. Does the cap not apply to them or something? Signed DeAngelo Hall, Dockery, Haynesworth, and haven't even released anybody yet ..... Buttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt, good news for Redskins fans. The Haynesworth deal is actually four years, 48 million. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3940991
  3. Haynesworth is about to be one rich son of a gun. Snyder overpays his players, but man, I didn't even think he was this dense to pay a guy who has shown he is inconsistent and finally showed up in his contract year all of those bucks.
  4. Its official - Harrison has officially been released. Wonder who will pick him up. Oh and Ray Lewis was talking to Ware, and Ware supposedly says Ray Ray wants to wear a star next season. While I think Dallas needs to stop hiring this star power and build a team, we know the Cowboys have no leader. That is where Ray fits in.
  5. I really don't even think any team should offer Marvin a contract. It'd kinda be like Brett Favre. Harrison wasn't that affected this season, or like he used to be, and it'd just be for about one year until he decides to retire. I'd build up a young WR.
  6. Peppers/Panthers is about to get ugly, I can feel it (Favre/Packers ugly). The GM will actually let Peppers find the team he wants to go to, and with Peppers taking constant shots at us, this is about to get serious. But at the moment, either Peppers has to take a deal and forget about those four teams he chose or stay with us, and I doubt he'd try to sit out and miss out on 16 million dollars. The Falcons are also the front runners to grab Haynesworth off the market (Bucs are another front runner). It'll be cool seeing him getting stiff armed by DeAngelo Williams if he indeed does go to one of those two teams. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playernew...amp;line=139506 http://blogs.charlotte.com/panthers/2009/0...mbine-talk.html
  7. Jeff Garcia won't go to Chicago. Chicago, from what I've heard, has openly said they are looking to sign Simms, which I'm meh on. Kyle Orton had a 90.0 rating before he suffered that ankle injury, but a backup is needed in case Orton screws up. Albert Haynesworth will not be tagged and will explore free agency while Suggs has been franchised. Also, Panthers are doing what they always do - wait 'till the last minute. They have yet to resign their franchise LT, Jordan Gross (which reports say they are trying to finalize a deal unless their agent is waiting for after 4:00pm tomorrow to see if a higher deal comes around) and Peppers has given a list of teams he wants to go to, the Bucs being one of them. I know one thing, Peppers better not give his hopes up. Carolina would never give a top five DE to a division rival unless they were given something BIG in return.
  8. Berrian can't even tie Greg Jennings' shoes. Berrian has been in the league longer and Jennings is already putting up better seasonal stats than Berrian could only wish to do. I don't even know if I should take you seriously. Also, he isn't any better than Roddy White. Roddy had two back-to-back sensational seasons and has proven to be an excellent WR. Berrian doesn't even fit into top ten. Even without those supposed names that you called better, I can still list more. Randy Moss, Steve Smith (Panthers), Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Braylon Edwards, Brandon Marshall, Reggie Wayne, ect. Those are ten names right there. There is no way you can tell me with a perfectly good argument that he is any better than them, because he isn't. Also, somebody will bait in for Vick. I'm pretty sure. However, it won't be the Lions. Jets have publicly stated they have no intentions to trade for him, but they said the same thing for Brett Favre. Michael Vick, if reinstated, will probably be released if Falcons can't find a team. If any team does sign him after that, it'll be Oakland. Al Davis really doesn't give a damn about his franchise anymore, so Vick should fit. But with the Warner talk, Cardinals have been trying to get a deal done, so either he will probably stay with Arizona unless something controversial happens or what I'm seeing happen is a retirement. He still has it in him though. The bigger question is if Larry Fitzgerald will succeed without him.
  9. Jerry Jones is probably throwing up the rest of his draft picks for Vick already. He is on a mission to remove every criminal off the street. Thus far - Adam "Pacman" Jones, Tank Johnson. Soon to be - Michael Vick.
  10. I don't usual watch the Pro Bowl but this one has been nice, better than last year I'll say that. That Larry Fitzgerald touchdown was brilliant.
  11. According to Madden NFL 09, the Cardinals will beat the Steelers in the Super Bowl by... *press supersim* 133-76! Holy Crap!! In other news, according to NFL.COM, Willis McGahee and Ryan Clark both suffered a neck injury from that hit. Though, that is pretty much stating the obvious.
  12. I specifically said that giving division winners who absolutely suck (see 2008 Chargers) a definite playoff spot because they won the division is stupid and gives the playoffs less credibility. I never said I wanted there to be a division without an opportunity to go into the playoffs. I am just saying that winning the division shouldn't mean anything more than "good job to ya" but having one of the best records among the conference is much more difficult, which is why I don't like the current playoff system that gives 7-9 division winners definite playoff spots but not 11-5 teams who don't win the division.
  13. No, it really isn't. The scheduling is but the way they decide who goes to the playoffs? No. Look at the AFC West. A 8-8 team won the freaken' division, whilst multiple teams with better records (New York Jets, New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Tampa Bay Buccaneers) missed the playoffs. What that means is that all you've got to do is win 8 games, clinch the division, and you're automatically in the playoffs, despite how bad you are? Not a good way to decide the playoffs in my opinion. I'd just put it blunt; the six best teams of each conference go to the playoffs and in tie situations, just use the tie breaker rule. You just can't tell me that winning the division should clinch you a homefield advantage and a automatic spot in the playoffs is fair for teams with better records out of the playoffs or teams in the wildcard whom have a better record but not given the privilege of home field. Let's use last year as an example. Didn't happen but what if the Patriots were shitty with one of the worst ranked defenses and worst ranked offenses yet went 7-9 and won the division because of a tie breaker win over a 7-9 Buffalo Bills, 4-12 New York Jets, and a 1-15 Miami Dolphins? Would they have deserved to be in the playoffs over a team that didn't, lets say a last year 11-5 Browns who didn't make it?
