Reports say the Cavs have signed SG Larry Hughes to a 5 year contract for 12 mil per year, if so, this is a great signing for the Cavs.

the player cant control if he is tagged or not. However, they can still sign with other teams, but the team that tagged him would have the ability to match it, or could get 2 1st rounders for the player if they let him sign with another team.

Franchise tag is applied to a player to keep them for a year....if applied, then that player is paid in the top 5 money wise at his position, for 1 year...Its basically used to keep players who teams cant sign to long term deals.
