Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2, Nevermwinter Nights, and all the expansions for all of them, are actually a series. You can import out of BG2 into NWN, and that's pretty fucking cool. Icewind Dales may not be considered an RPG, but it's pretty much the same as BG, though admittedly there's a lot more focus on fighting in it.

I'd get that big bpack with Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale and whatever the fuck the third one was AND Neverwinter Nights. Because those three games are great games. Play them in order, BG, ID, and NN, and by the time you get to NN, you'll be really good at it. What's more is, you can set them all so that after every turn, or every attack, or every anything, it'll pause and shit...so you can strategize...and, for the most part, it's mouse-clicking.

I play. I've played since I was 12. So 10 years. I've circulated all three editions. i prefer 3rd myself. The word you're looking for is "stand alone." I tend to play rogues and/or rangers. I have very little luck finding people that play that don't annoy the dogshit out of me...so if anyone is interested in possibly throwing together an online group, let me know.

On the subject of Wonder Years, it's also my favorite show ever. if they got every show together on one big ass DVD set, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. On the subject of Mean Girls: Yes, it is surprisingly good. I still can't figure out if that's because of the hotness...or if that's because of the actual acting and story. Further investigation may be required.

I'd go write them all down, but I don't care enough to for ya. The game isn't totally bad. It IS huge steps behind HCTP. I didn't pay for it, so it doesn't hurt me any. But, yeah, HCTP > SDvR
