  1. As soon as we bring ANOTHER Ameobi on, we immediately concede. You couldn't make it up. ... TAYLOR
  2. Right before the transfer window closed, Lorenzo Davids handed in a transfer request for no reason whatsoever. Davids was my favourite utility midfield player and would come on off the bench a lot. I'd even just praised him for starring in a match against Tottenham. One of my better pieces of business too, since I brought him in on a free. Being the ruthless, cold hearted manager (that's addicted to spending money) I am, I sold him and brought in Sunny from Valencia to replace him. Worked out pretty well though since I got £2.4 million for Davids and only had to spend £1.7 on Sunny. Had a cheeky little bid for Steven Defour rejected, but they suggested a £6.25 million deal, so I'm going to try and do that in January. I'll beg the board, or something. Here's my squad at the start of the third season. GK: Marco Wolfli, Lee Camp RB: Chris Gunter, Luke Chambers CB: Michael Turner, Ciaran Clark, Mike Williamson, Joel Lynch LB: Greg Cunningham, Julio Arca DM: Cheick Tiote, Sunny RM: Sotiris Ninis, Jeffery Sarpong CM: Chris Cohen, Jack Cork LM: Mehdi Carcela, Paul Anderson ST: Kevin Gamiero, David N'Gog, Ahmed Soukouna, Dexter Blackstock
  3. I called a press conference. I prepared a fireworks display in his honour. Nottingham Mayor was in attendance to give him the key to the city. Forest's new £5.5 million signing:
  4. In the off season I've brought in Michael Turner from Sunderland, Ciaran Clark from Aston Villa, Jack Cork from Chelsea, David N'Gog from Liverpool and Mehdi Carcela from PSV. Oliver Kapo, Steven Caldwell, Salomon Olembe, Roman Bednar, Sylvain Marveaux and Sandro have all left. I tried to get Sandro permanently but he chose Mallorca over Forest, so I'm left with about 6 million and in need of a defensive midfielder.
  5. Wow. So I've finished the season in 7th, won the League Cup and shortly after the season ends, Man City manager Michael Laudrup gets the sack and I get offered the job. I'm going to reject it, of course, but it's nice to be offered it.
  6. I'm having a lovely time in the league at the minute. Having already gotten into Europe through winning the League Cup(against Man Utd... reserves), I'm up to 6th, only 4 points off of 4th. If anything I wish I wasn't doing so well, because my expectations next season will be rediculous.
  7. Owen's still without a club on my game in March. When I try to sign him now, his agent informs me he's in negotiations with Swindon. Good luck with that, Michael.
  8. It just asked me if I wanted to. I was in 6th when it did so maybe it depends if you're exceeding your original expectations? I'm not really sure.
  9. Just got 12 million to spend in January after changing my season expectations to a mid-table finish. I look forward to seeing how I waste it!
  10. I'm 8th at the minute with 13 games gone, 6/4/3. My losses have come against Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea though, so it's going alright. In somewhat of a tradition with me in Football Manager, after getting promoted I've bought horribly. In this case I got sick of players asking for wages well out of my budget and went into panic- buy mode. The pick of the bunch has been Roman Bednar. A bit of advice; never sign Roman Bednar. Ever. Under no circumstances should you sign Roman Bednar. It hasn't been all bad though, Wolfli is doing alright in goal although I've definitely overpaid for him and I managed to get Sandro on loan from Tottenham, who's turned out to be fantastic. The only real shocking thing in my game is Arsenal being in 11th. I thought it was an achievement when I beat them 2-0, but it seems like everyone else is beating them too.
  11. I think it always seems that way for the mid-table clubs. I know I always complain that I wait for ages to see the Newcastle highlights, but it's more a case of preferential treatment for the top teams. It's brilliant when Sunderland are on last, though. That way I can turn it off early and avoid having to look at Steve Bruce for another week. 1-0 Stoke, Jones.
  12. I'm sure I've already posted this, but even a search couldn't find it. Ah well... So my laptop died and I had to start again with the new patch installed. I've motored through the Championship, winning it again with Forest. I went unbeaten until I won the title, then lost the last three games in a row! I'm sure the game just did this to me for comedic effect. I'm also now in awe of Stok's ability to get anything at all out of Rob Earnshaw, he only managed 5 goals in 23 appearances for me and even they came during the spell from January to Late February where I didn't win a game by less than a 3 goal margin. Luckily Ahmed Soukouna and Dexter Blackstock did the business. My board has also sold star performer Radoslaw Majewski for 5 million. After being annoyed for a while I bought Young Boys 'keeper Marco Wölfli on recommendation from a friend for 4.3 million. As soon as I clicked confirm, I regretted it, hopefully I won't when he turns out to be awesome.
  13. I tried for Owen, but I couldn't bring myself to give him the wages he wanted. He's 31 and made of glass. A striker's my priority now, since Mido has just been injured for 6 weeks.
  14. GK- Lee Camp, Ben Alnwick RB- Chris Gunter, Luke Chambers LB- Joel Lynch CB- Wes Morgan, Kelvin Wilson RM- Hogan Ephraim, Garath Mcleary LM- Niko Kranjcar Paul Anderson DM- Guy Moussi, Paul Mckenna CM- Charlie Adam, Chris Cohen ST- Mido, Ahmed Soukouna, Joe Garner, Dexter Blackstock That's the whole squad. I've moved a few people on and let some contracts expire since the end of the season. EDIT: Just signed Kranjcar ( ) from Tottenham for £4.1 Million.
  15. After getting back into Football Manager this weekend I've managed to get Nottingham Forest promoted, winning the Championship. I've brought in Charlie Adam for £4.1 Million and Mido on a free so far. I have around 16 Million left to spend, so I was wondering if anyone has any tips on good players to bring in? I could do with players in pretty much every position. I tried to get Carroll from a relegated Newcastle, but they wanted £10 Million.

    Minecraft!

Has anyone experimented with the seeds and found anything interesting? I found "worstseedever" on the Minecraft forums, which spawns you near 2 dungeons and a huge cave system.
  17. In my opinion , effort is something that every player should have , and if one doesn't , then he shouldn't be playing soccer otherwise , and that's why I don't consider It a good point from Tioté , because if he has so much energy , he's so eager ... I've seen many ''eager'' players injury skillful athletes and put them on the sidelines for months... So the "fantastic" team we had when we went down shouldn't have been playing football, then. In an ideal world sure, every player should work as hard as Tiote does, but it doesn't work like that unfortunately.
  18. Do you get to actually watch many Newcastle games? To me, even Match of the Day highlights show Tiote is far more than overly agressive with a powerful shot. The thing I like about him is that he's tireless, I can't remember the last Newcastle player that put the same amount of effort into each game. If anything he's too eager to win the ball back in midfield, and that's what's getting him so many yellow cards.
  19. Jumped up a little there thinking Modric had the penalty, really exciting game. Pretty neutral in this, although it's hard not to like Tottenham.
