  1. Add Kyle O'Reilly to ROH:

    http://www.rohwrestl...es-it-official/

In addition ROH officials would also like to announce that, following a stellar outing against the aforementioned Austin Aries that saw him kick out of Aries' Brainbuster, independent standout Kyle O'Reilly has also been signed to a contract with Ring of Honor. This young man from Canada has been impressing people across the wrestling world in recent months, and has signed on to ROH for the foreseeable future. If he continues to impress as he did against a 2-time World Champion, O'Reilly has a bright future ahead of him.

OT: does anyone know what's going on with Up in Smoke (Cheech and Cloudy)? They've been pretty sparse recently.

  2. From Glory By Honor

Roderick Strong won the ROH title tonight.

I think this means Black can be on a written contract with the WWE now

Homicide showed up, and while it's only his first show back, I think it's safe to add him as a main event face, open contract, replacing IWA. It's the one he seemingly will work/ does work the least of the three/four.

Christopher Daniels has seemingly become a full face now, so I'd change him from Tweener to Face

Unrelated: Lower Dan Severn's overness to 50, technical to 73, and after further looking at it, maybe raise U-Gene's technical up to 78? I think my rec'd 76 was too harsh of a drop. Sorry Bill.

  3. Remove Rasche Brown from ROH

    - ROH talent Skullcrusher Rasche Brown tweeted the following this evening:

"Just quit ROH.... good luck in your future endeavors. Remember, always remain in control! Keep it real 24 7"

Sources indicate that Brown was taken off all scheduled ROH events after he missed the HDNet tapings this past weekend. It is believed that Brown offered to work the shows in Charlotte and Richmond this weekend to make up for missing the tapings, but when he got pulled anyway he decided to quit.

With the recent booking changes in the company, it is expected that there will be some roster changes coming up.

  4. I take it Yim and Reggie were on PWR's latest show. On a similar note, I know Yim is getting a Sparkle try out when they run their next tapping as well so perhaps add her.

On a side note congrats to Cole, he deserves it.

Yim has been on the last 2 shows, #'s 4 and 5, Reggie was on show 3, so I guess that can be argued, and Dempsey wrestled on show 5 and was in ROH before. It just occured to me today to go through PWR's shows and see who is in the game and not on ROH's roster.

  5. Ring of Honor is excited to announce that we have come to terms with Jay & Mark Briscoe and the duo have re-signed contracts with ROH Wrestling.

In addition, ROH is also happy to announce that we have signed both Adam Cole and Mike Bennett to contracts as well. Adam Cole, a 21 year old graduate of the CZW Wrestling Academy, has been wrestling for two and half years, and has made quite an impact with his high-flying skills and solid technical base. Mike Bennett has competed for ROH on several occasions in the past, including bouts with Rhett Titus, Jason Blade, and most recently this past weekend at the "ROH on HDNet" TV Tapings where Cole also competed. ROH officials look forward to seeing what these two up and coming athletes have to offer in the future.

I don't know how that would work really for the Briscoes, as I don't think it's an exclusive (ie: written for the game) contract, just gives ROH preferences for dates, but just in case.

Add Adam Cole to ROH. I don't think Bennett is in the game.

Add Derrick Dempsey to ROH, developmental deal (He's back in PWR) and rename him Derek Dempsey.

Add Reggie to ROH, developmental deal and change her name to Courtney Prezleigh, which is currently one of her alter egos.

Add Mia Yim to ROH, developmental deal.

  6. Dunno how the ROH TV tapings are treated, but here's some pertinent info:

Tyler Black should be a heel as they are playing up the WWE signing now, and how the money is more important than ROH.

Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards should be faces, or at least tweeners in Eddie's case since Davey is already a tweener. Eddie saved Davey from a KOW beatdown after Davey fought with Hagadorn. I'd remove Hagadorn as each of their managers. Furthering that, Eddie faced Kenny King and Rhett Titus, each separately, both heels, and Davey ripped Black for leaving cutting a pro ROH promo, then faced him playing the face in the match to Black's heel.

Also, boost Kenny King's tech to 77 and Rhett Titus' tech to 72

  7. As for Adam Pearce being "over" being the NWA Champ don't mean what it use to. I think he is too over 47 personally and I'd suggest to lower him to say 40.

I don't disagree much with your point, but 40 would also put him below folks like Rasche Brown, who I think Pearce is more over than. Perhaps 40 is too low, or moreover maybe everyone's overness needs a realignment and readjustment? Shelton Benjamin at 77 strikes me as a too high but I'm not sure what the scale is.

  8. http://www.pwinsider.com/article/50019/cary-silkin-comments-on-roh-booking-change.html?p=1

By Mike Johnson on 2010-08-16 13:37:50 ROH President Cary Silkin described the decision to remove Adam Pearce as Ring of Honor booker as an "amicable decision" in a phone conversation earlier today. "We thank Adam for everything he brought to the table, but I decided to make a change. There were no problems between us. There was no blow-up and it's entirely possible he will return down the line either in front of the camera or in another backstage role."

Silkin confirmed PWInsider.com's report that Hunter "Delirious" Johnston would be taking over as the new booker of the company starting with this Fridays' ROH on HDNet TV Tapings. Silkin noted that Pearce would not be at the tapings, although I believe Pearce did offer to come in and help with the transition.

Silkin described Johnston as a "smart, respected, hard working person" and noted that Johnston would be running the back while Jim Cornette would continue to have influence on the HDNet Television product. Silkin also noted that the company is currently set in its direction and we shouldn't expect massive changes in direction, roster, etc. due to the change.

"Adam did a good job and I believe Hunter will do the same."

Based on the bolded, I'd say remove Adam Pearce from ROH since it's clear he's not going to be with the company for the immediate future, since for him to return he'd have to leave. I'd also bump his overness to 51-52.

  9. Check booker for Delirious:

RING OF HONOR, BOOKER ADAM PEARCE PART WAYS

ROH owner Cary Silkin has decided to replace ROH booker Adam Pearce. Pearce had been the promotion's head booker since October 2008. Delirious, with input from Jim Cornette, will apparently be handling the booking going forward.

    Credit: PWInsider

Unsure if Pearce will be a full time talent again as he was on his way out of ROH before becoming booker or if he will be leaving the company. No matter what this will possibly affect his gimmick and his as of yet unchanged status of non-wrestler which was mentioned in the July update thread.

Raise El Generico's brawling to 55

Raise Kevin Steen's technical to 75

  10. The Wrestling Observer has now confirmed that Black has indeed inked a deal with WWE and is expected to report to Florida Championship Wrestling within the next 6 weeks. It's being reported that Black is expected to drop the ROH Title within the next 5 weeks, at which point he will begin working with FCW.

    http://www.wrestlezo...tal-deal-108971

Looks like there is a deal in place, but we'll have to wait and see how it plays out before we can determine where he'll be on the game for the September Update. A quick glance at the calendar says I should be releasing September's update on August 31, so chances are, we can take this one right to the wire to get it as right as possible. Based on the info, it looks like he's done once he drops the title.

    -Bill

Considering where the storylines are headed and based on the article's dates, it seems that he'll gone after Glory by Honor, which is of course Sep 11th so if that's the case we'll see him in the E's system for October's update?

  11. Speaking of HWA, the site seems to not list Matt Stryker, and it seems he hasn't worked there (or anywhere) in over a year. Maybe drop his overness to 46 roughly and possibly remove him from HWA (unless I'm missing something)

He was never that over in RoH, I'd put him at 36 tops.

    Works for me.

I've not seen him wrestle, at least not that I recall off hand, is he deserving of his tech score especially due to his inactiveness for over a year?

Lower Mike Mondo's technical to 77.

Also maybe drop Brent Albright's overness to 50 and his technical to 75.

I don't know if "U-Gene" is as good as he used to be, maybe drop his technical down to 77, and slightly unrelated his overness down to 61 or less if someone sees fit.

Raise Charlie Haas' overness to 67 or more if someone sees fit and his technical to 80 or 81.

re-activate the World's Greatest Tag Team and rename them Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team. Forgot where I read it but they (Haas and Benjamin) said that's the new name.

I didn't see it, but supposedly Tyler Black's been signed by the WWE. I guess it's not something to change yet but could be soon enough.

Multiple sources within WWE are saying that the company has signed reigning ROH World champ Tyler Black. Indications are that Black will be starting with the company in September. It is believed that he has signed a developmental deal, though that's not confirmed right now.

Black has been the champion since February this year. He has several title defences scheduled between now and September, including one against Roderick Strong on September 11 at the Glory by Honor i-PPV.

When contacted about the rumour, ROH owner Cary Silkin had no comment.

  13. There's these two:

During the match, Strong hit a release Gibson Driver off the top turnbuckle but while Aries landed in the ring, Strong went through a table at ringside. The referee threw up the 'x' and Adam Pearce and Jim Cornette come out to check on Strong.

Post-match: The fans gave both men a standing ovation after the match. Pearce came out to check on Richards.

And I remember him restarting a match recently, either showing up on screen, or coming out from the back but I can't find that specifically.

EDIT: Ah, here it is, Death before Dishonor, not really restarting but eh.

Kings of Wrestling make their way to the ring. The Briscoes still aren't here. Lots of streamers for the Kings. The Briscoes have not made it to the arena for this match. Claudio takes the mic, and thanks Canada for not letting the Briscoes into this beautiful country. This is why they love to come to Toronto. Pearce and Silken are on screen. Hero is disappointing because now they can't prove that they are the best team since the Briscoes couldn't make it. HERE THEY ARE!

Match 6 – ROH World Tag Team Championship Match (No DQ)

The Kings of Wrestling © vs The Briscoes

I guess the Briscoes made it? New music and a new t-shirt for the Kings and they’re modelling them in two different colors. Bobby Cruise announces the Briscoes have no arrived in time! Crowd had no idea they were having issues so they are hating on this. Claudio has the microphone and is thanking Canada for not letting the Briscoes into the country. Pearce and Cary are out as Hero mocks the Briscoes some more. The Briscoes arrive through the crowd!!!! The match is on!

  14. Erik Stevens should have a Charisma boost to about 65ish. 45 seems waaaaay too low. After watching some of the ROH video wires and in the Embassy angles I've noticed he's pretty damn solid.

And also an overness boost to 46(ish) I think.

Adam Pearce for ROH should also have a gimmick of Staff Member or Authority Figure, likely the latter one.

I don't think he has ever actually appeared on screen as an authority figure or a staff member, though. I'd just leave him as is.

I actually vaguely remember something about him (and Cornette) breaking up some ruckus, I'll have to find it though.

  16. -Raise Rhett Titus' overness to 40.

-Raise Kenny King's overness to 40.

-Raise Mike Quackenbush's overness to 49.

DISCLAIMER: I may be terribly off here

I'd say the ANX could use a few more points to 43 on top of that boost to 40, and Quack a couple more to 51.

    Other ideas:

Raise Roderick Strong's overness to 66 from 64. Maybe add him to the House of Truth stable? Not only is he managed by Martini, but he'll be teaming with Raymond and Able.

I saw the Davey Richards argument from earlier, but I tend to agree he needs that boost, especially after his match at Death before Dishonor. I'd say something like 65?

Ricky Reyes overness lowered to 38

Josh Raymond overness raised to 35

Cristin Able overness raised to 35

Jon Davis overness raised to 42

Kory Chavis overness raised to 42

Rasche Brown overness raised to 41

  17. MsChifs' NWA Woman's title is the kicker as she does not wrestle in any NWA promotion in the game. I think her promotions are just ROH and SHIMMER.

And on top of it, as far as ROH is concerned she really only wrestles in ProwrestlingRespect, the "developmental territory" these days if I recall correctly.

    Speaking of:

I'd suggest removing these wrestlers from ROH, the dates they last worked for ROH follow their names and they are not on any scheduled upcoming cards:

KENTA: August 14th 2009 (I'm aware of the knee injury, but he's been active for awhile now)

Brent Albright: March 6th, Two events in 2010, his myspace seems to indicate he's done with wrestling too. The last TV match(es?) he taped never aired.

Eddie Kingston: March 6th, Five events in 2010, though three were same day TV tapings. After his bit with the Embassy ended, he seems to have only been working in Chikara as far as I know.

Bison Smith: March 27th, Two events in 2010

Joey Ryan: March 27th, Eight events in 2010, though three were same day TV tapings. Similar to Kingston's bit, but PWG instead of Chikara, again, as far as I know.

Petey Williams: April 24th, Four events in 2010

J-Sin, Lance Lude: May 22nd, Four events

In addition, there's Adam Pearce: Maybe make him a non-wrestler for ROH? He's wrestled four matches since he's become head booker, which has been a little less than 2 years.

I'd also move MsChif (Oct 8th 2009) and Ricky Reyes (May 22nd) to developmental as they've constantly been on PWR's shows and have barely been on the "main roster". I don't know if a corresponding lowering of overness would be suitable in addition.

Bison is an interesting catch-22 when it comes to his dates. He is a NOAH regular and I believe he is still in IWA so he was doing ilregular RoH shots during his run. I am not sure if he is still doing the big shows or not.

Indeed he is. The last big show for ROH he worked was Final Battle '09, and he hasn't made any after that. I'm unsure if he's still with IWA, or his schedule there, I'll look, but I cross searched his NOAH dates with ROH shows, and he seemingly could have made at least the bigger ones based on his past dates. The 8th Anniversary show was 2-13 and he had no NOAH dates that month. Supercard of Honor was 5-8 and he was in NOAH on 5-2 and 5-22 giving him enough time in between to work that show. Death Before Dishonor was 6-19 and Bison was in NOAH 6-6 and 6-26, so again would have had enough time seemingly. Considering there's seemingly been multiple opportunities for him to work a few shows, I think it'd be best to remove him now, and see if he comes back, especially since in 09 he was on the Anniversary show and Death Before Dishonor, but not this year, nor is he booked for the next few ROH shows.

Also just checked his IWA dates, he was last there 3-20, roughly the same time as his last ROH appearance, so it seems he's even wrestling there a lot less now. It would lead me to believe he's content working for NOAH and not traveling these days considering he's worked 40 NOAH cards this year compared to 31 at this point in 09, which is also amusing because he was in ROH at this time of year last year, this year opting to stick with NOAH.

Also, maybe bump Tyler Black's tech up a few points? I'm pretty crappy at trying to objectively quantify something but between 78-81 perhaps? I think I suggested bumping his overness to (at least) 66 in a previous post, but just in case...
