So can I just take any free team? There's teams that are free in the franchise but marked as taken on the first page. Are they good to take?

Ever read a comic that you think is a woefully shitty idea just because your favorite character is in it? X-23 is not in any other comic so after being spoiled with Avengers Academy I now have to move over to the ridiculously bad sounding Avengers Arena to get my fave in action. I almost feel like it's not worth it, but not counting Spiderman she is my favorite and I've read all her old stuff so it's my only option.

Any of you stuck with a fave character through an awful series?

Basically with Gambit. I am not liking his solo series, but I keep picking it up because I really like the character and it is all he is really featured in.

Starting to get my timing down now. Started slow against washington, then gave up a kick off return for a tochdown at the start of the second half before pulling away. They couldn't stop the post route off the left side of the field. I also forced RG3 into four fumbles and picked him off twice. Very confident heading into the bye at 2-2.

Have Aquib Talib and Legerte Blount avalabile if anyone is interested. Could package them in a deal.

Also when you play online anybody have any idea how to turn off that fucking game flow feature. I hate it.

Is there a decent website that posts like, lists of what the next comics out each week/previous/next week are? I feel like that'd be very helpful considering how much of a pain it's become to figure out when the next issue of Ultimates comes out.

I'm open to suggestions about gimmicks and I'm happy to run it too. That could be an interesting one alright especially with 5 rookie QBs starting right now.

I would be up for rookie QBs and even a random thing where we are given a rookie we have to run with. If it is a back up, you could always "force" start so that gives more options.

I don't see a problem with forcing the advance after his reply and would be nice to do it soon, been looking forward to play my next game while I gad the time.

We were waiting on Pepsi and Trench last time I checked. If they played, then we are. I'd prefer not to force advance if we don't need to.

I'm also thinking of starting a player-only league, but I'm not sure what kind of interest there is in that.

I do feel like the games are too short. With accelerated clock, i feel like we should be playing fifteen minute quarters.

I wouldn't mind 15 minute, but others may think it is too long. Maybe try 12 for week two to see how it goes and how everyone feels about it?

Edit: And Pepsi, this weekend is a good tie I assume? Like before?

I fly to Spain very early Saturday morning, so I'll only be available your time until about 4pm Friday? I'll be free all evening on Thursday though. After that I won't be around until Tuesday.

Nah, Night of Owls started with Batman 8 or 9. 1-6 is something else, can't recall what and I'm not in the mood to go digging through my collection to figure it out.

1-6 led up to it, he fought the owls in the later issues. I remember 1 because Batman and Alfred beat up all the villains, but it basically jumped into the build to Night of Owls from there. I think 3 is our first real look at them?

Hoping to advance to the regular season Friday at the latest, unless everyone wants to play preseason games. Still looking for slider suggestions too.

Seeing mixed reviews on the Before Watchmen series. I got the Rorshach and Silver Spectre #1's, loved the art in Rorshach, SS was a bit pedestrian, but I assume it's just setting the scene for the main story. I hear Night Owl and Comedian and must-avoids though, which is a shame.

I'll probably end up getting the lot when they release a collection, just wondering if Rorshach is with pursuing now, or if any of the others are worth a look in the meantime.

By the way, the Nexus is perfect size and screen quality for comic reading. Absolute joy. If anyone uses Comixology, they have a sale on an Uncanny X-Men run from last year, there's some Spiderman stuff on offer, and a bunch of DC #1's are down to 99c.

I have enjoyed Nite Owl and Rorshach, but I dropped Comedian and Minutemen after the second issue as it was very underwhelming. I have heard great things about Silk Spectre also, just have not really wanted to pick it up.

After season 5, I thought they have nothing else either but they always pull something off that I enjoy. I do hope we get a god appearance this season though and Dean tells him exactly how he feels. Other than that, I think the new Dean as this soldier type with a form of PTSD is really interesting.

Yeah this patch is supposed to be a pretty big deal.

Obviously not in head to head games but you can always use super sim so you don't have to play the full game. No reason to play a game for 2 hours. I can get a game done in 45 minutes no problem. I don't see how it took 2 hours. Sorry to hear you are out.

I am probably the only one voting for a restart since the new patch allows you to edit players ( I assume positions also) aND change defensive schemes and that is pretty big for me. Would not be upset if we just went on though/

I thought it sounded kind of interested and looking forward to quite a bit of the Marvel NOW books, especially Cable & The X-Force, All New X-Men, and Avengers Arena. People hated the New 52 idea at first, but those have been some excellent books and I think it is worth giving these a try at least.

After some digging, apparently this helps...

I figured out that it's a problem with the auto save feature. The solution was that while at the main menu, hit the select button to save. I always hit save profile not all, hit yes for overwrite and then quit game. It still sucks that you have to do this every time, but that's the hand we've been dealt. Hope this helps you.

Or logging off online before you quit the game. I am going to try the first in a little bit.

Am I the only one having an issue that when you quit Madden, it actually shuts off your PS3 and restarts it?
