  1. You make a valid point. Tommy Maddox. However, if we are saying he used a great defense as a crutch, what about this year? 31st ranked in yards allowed, 18th in points allowed. In 2002 they were 23rd and 17th, respectively. This year, however, they may damn well be the first seed and Brady is having his second best statistical season.
  2. He led the league in touchdowns in 2002.
  3. Brady also has an epic man-mane that ESPN loves showing slow-mo's of apparently. I think the argument of Brady-Manning will always be polarizing between stat guys and ring guys. Marino or Montana. It did become tilted in Manning's favor when he finally won a ring, but Brady still has the edge. And the idea of "if Manning had this" is false economy. It's more about the style of play and whether or not a QB can adjust. The fact is Brady can work every kind of offense. Huddle, no-huddle, spread, or tight. I've only ever seen Manning run the spread no-huddle, so he has to have the personal to run it. See: Clark, Dallas.
  4. Maybe if more than 13 people showed up in places like Phoenix it'd help.
  5. K. OUTDOORS Tom Brady - 93.0 QB Rating, 212 TD vs 90 INT (2.35-1), 7.2 YPA Peyton Manning - 90.9 QB Rating, 159 TD vs 92 INT (1.72-1), 7.4 YPA INDOORS Tom Brady - 98.7 QB Rating, 25 TD vs 13 INT (1.92-1), 8.1 YPA Peyton Manning - 99.9 QB Rating, 220 TD vs 91 INT (2.41-1), 7.9 YPA WIND OR RAIN Tom Brady - 93.1 QB Rating, 103 TD vs 39 INT (2.64-1), 7.4 YPA Peyton Manning - 83.6 QB Rating, 49 TD vs 39 INT (1.25-1), 6.95 YPA

  7. Peyton at Home: 95 games, 98.9 QB rating, 65.3 completion %, 25088 yards, 193 TD, 80 Int Peyton Away: 95 games, 91.7 QB rating, 64.2 completion %, 24753 yards, 173 TD, 100 Int This was in 2009, I think, but his numbers aren't dramatically different.
  8. That was such an epic all-around win for the Patriots. With the Bears and Packers up next, hopefully there isn't a lack of energy.
  9. Obviously the most likely scenario. Or Bill Parcells turns face and chokeslams Ryan and Belichick.
  10. I am obscenely excited for tonight's game. Obscenely.
  11. If anyone could they'd be a MLB GM, naiwf. A bad one, probably.
  12. It's odd to me how people tend to forget how great Youk was at 3B as well. Sure, he has been out of practice for a couple seasons, but part of the reason he is so valuable is his high caliber defense on both ends of the diamond.
  13. Did anyone else notice Peyton talking to Wayne after Reggie went out with a pull? You could tell after the second pick he was telling Reggie he needed him out there to win the game. Peyton is a great QB, but I found that very interesting.
  14. Jacksonville with a big win and, as much as it pains me as a Patriots fan, go Cowboys over Indy. (Y)
  15. Beckett and Lackey weren't exactly great last season. Dice-K is what he is and the same could be said for Wakefield. Lester is an ace, but is it too early to think maybe we need a #2 guy?
  16. I find it quite ridiculous that if Auburn loses to a 3-loss team they will still be in the big dance. Oh well, war eagle!
  17. I agree that Kelly and Rizzo may lead to equal value or greater value for the Padres in the long run, but Theo was pigeon-holed into making this move. Ratings were down, people were frustrated, and we all knew the Padres knew our minor league system (obviously). I do think the Red Sox will bring in one more big piece. With Kelly out, maybe it'll be another SP.
  18. Only three prospects, even with Kelly, is great. We'll have five first rounders in a deep draft this year after losing Beltre and Martinez. If they don't sign any Type A's, that is.
  19. Jeter had the sixth worst UZR at -5.4 mainly do to the league worst range rating of -11.8. Sure, he fields the ones that come his way, but his cone of fielding is the smallest in the league. He fielded 277 balls in 1303 innings, 10th least, but the average innings played by the nine below him was ~200 less. Alex's UZR was also sixth worst at his position at -2.3 and his range was second worst at -8.0. He fielded 185 balls in 1046 innings. They are both sub-par fielders.
  20. Reports in Boston say the Red Sox are pushing for Adrian Gonzalez as hard as ever. Weary of dealing four or five prospects for a corner infielder who will be available via free agency in a year anyway. I like Casey Kelly too much to deal him.
  21. Tonight was OK Go and Neon Trees at Lupo's in Providence, RI. I missed it. (N)
