  1. Been playing this the last few days and I quite like it. It's not a classic by any means, but I still get a lot out of it. After my bad experience with New Vegas this is a pleasant surprise. I haven't touched the online, but single player has kept me busy. For me this is easily the best representation of 'zombie apocalypse' in a game even with its flaws and, while the story breaks few boundaries, just doing simple missions like going out for supplies or escorting an NPC is kinda cool and immersive as, realistically, that's what you'd spend most of your time doing. Favourite moment so far? Another thing, I think it's quite cool how, even with the best weapons, not having a proper strategy when you're out can occassionally get you surrounded and killed. And, is it just me, or are the Infected zombies (the second ones in the game you see), by far the toughest? Whenever I've died it's been because of them.
  2. 1 - Nick Diaz 2 - Kazushi Sakuraba 3 - Antonio Rodrigo 'Minotauro' Nogueira 4 - Anderson Silva 5 - Mark Coleman Damn this should have been a top ten thing instead. Barring 1 and maybe 2, the other places are interchangeable. And I've had to leave out Wanderlei Silva, Randy Couture, Brock Lesnar, Georges St. Pierre, Igor Vovchanchyn, Nate Diaz, Gil Melendez, Takanori Gomi. Man, really tough to pick just five.
  3. Anyone watch the StrikeForce show? Cormier actually looked pretty good on the feet, dropping Silva several times. Rockhold winning was also a shock, while the Barnett fight went as I thought it would. Barnett - Cormier is actually a pretty interesting fight. Winning the GP (as far as its fallen in the fans eyes) still builds Barnett up, while Cormier would be established with the win - just in time to be brought into the UFC. Sad for Gracie, but from about thirty seconds in it looked like that's how the fight would go.
  4. I've been checking out the forums for about two years (mainly the MMA and gaming forums) and finally decided to join up today and thought I'd do something that worked quite well on another forum. I was given a short while ago the 'Trivia Football Game', which is basically a load of old football question on cards with a scoreboard. What I'll do is put some of the questions on here and people can have a go at them. The intention is to do it for fun, but if it goes well with a good response I'll keep track of it with a leaderboard or something and maybe turn it into a weekly thing. N.B: These questions were printed in 2001 (to the best of my knowledge), therefore you should answer it from that perspective Oh, and I know it's for fun, but if people want to take it seriously you can PM me your answers. Alternatively, just put them in spoilers. I realise that it's extremely easy to cheat and very hard to detect cheats, but we'll go off good old fashioned human goodwill. So, practice round... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PRACTICE GAME #1 Round 1 1) Who was the first player to score a hat-trick in the Premiership: Eric Cantona, Alan Shearer or Ian Wright? 2) True or False: Grimsby play their home games in Cleethorpes. 3) Which was the first English club of the 20th century to win the league and cup double? 4) In the six matches leading up to their appearance in the 1926 FA Cup Final, Manchester United scored a record number of goals; how many? (to within 3) 5) Who was voted Football Writers' Footballer of the Year (1976), European Footballer of the Year (1978, 1979) and PFA Player of the Year (1982)? 6) Who were the last Irish team to participate in the English FA Cup: Belfast Distillery, Linfield or Sporting Lisburn? Round 2 (Picture Round) 1) What is this? 2) Who won it in 1998? 3) Name two of the three countries who have won it three or more times? 4) Apart from the hosts, how many countries do not have to qualify? 5) In what country was the competition first held? 6) Apart from winning it in 1966, what is Englands best ever performance and when was it? Round 3 - Final Round 1) Who notoriously turned down a £7,000 a week offer from Celtic saying, "It may be enough for the homeless, but not for an international striker"? 2) In the 1998/99 season how many English Premiership clubs had a higher average gate than Sunderland in the 1st Division? 3) Which Spanish club won the European under-16 title in 1999? 4) What age group was Jimmy Greaves in when he scored his 100th League goal: Under 18, Under 21 or Under 23? 5) Before becoming a football broadcaster Tom Watt had starred in which TV soap? 6) James I refused to allow his eldest son to play football, what was his sons name: Charles, Henry or James? ------------------------------------ And that's it. If there's a big enough response I'll maybe run another soon.
  5. Out of interest, who would you consider the best ever? The guy is insanely talented.
