  1. Got this today, ran 3 races so far (all as Kobayashi). Finished 12th in my first one @ Singapore because of a 10 second penalty after hitting Vettel while defending the lead, which dropped me from 4th. 10th @ Monaco, again dropped from 4th because of a 10 second penalty I was given for lap 1 carnage. Was also given a warning for illegal blocking even though I spun out coming into the turn after the tunnel and couldn't get myself righted right away. Finally, won @ Montreal because I made the smart move of not getting myself penalized :P

Really enjoying the whole experience in general, might hook up my Driving Force GT later and see how that gets on :D

  2. Am I the only one who just got done watching the fight between Delvin Rodriguez & Pavel Wolak on ESPN2? WHAT A BATTLE! I thought Rodriguez won but I cannot complain about a draw at all. Also look at the damage Delvin did to Wolak's eye...swollen like a grapefruit!

  3. Was I the only one rooting for Date-Krumm to somehow beat Venus? Great match, and the ESPN commentators were spot on: KDK played one bad game all match, and it just happened to come at the worst possible time :(

  4. Thanks to losing 2-1 to Panama, the US now needs a result against Guadeloupe to advance. Either way, I really wish this tournament would be the end of Bob Bradley's reign as national team coach. This has been Bradley's way: One step forward (beat Spain in Confederations Cup), many steps back (lose to Ghana in World Cup Round of 16, lose to Panama in Gold Cup). We need someone that can consistently keep things moving forward without these embarrassing defeats to the likes of Panama. I said in 2006 we should have hired Jurgen Klinsmann, and I still stand by that. To hell with domestic coaches, you want to be the best? You bring in some of the best. Klinsmann would be best for the United States. Bring him in and I can pretty much guarantee you results will start to pick up.

BRADLEY AND GULATI OUT, WE WANT KLINSMANN!!!

  5. Welp, now I need to find a new right back. Tomas Kalas got sent off against Peterborough with a dangerous tackle. I expressed my anger at him in the team talks, fined him one week's wages. He moaned about that, told him how unprofessional he was for moaning about the deserved fine. Nobody wants to take him on a loan, so now I'm thinking about buying out his contract. At this point I feel there's no further point in even wasting time on a player who refuses to accept responsibility for his actions.

  6. I tried a free agent database once, it sucks. Why? Because it doesn't equal out at all. Loads of players just stay free agents while all clubs go for certain players. I had 25 of the best players in the world at Real Madrid, while clubs like Man City maybe managed to get 5 players, the rest was gray players. No thank you.

Absolutely not disputing that fact. I do wish the AI managers would be more aggressive in filling out their teams instead of leaving players to rot. Dunno if the homegrown rules in the English leagues would have anything to do with that though.

EDIT: Looking at some of the rosters, Man City has 19 players, including Joe Hart, Alvaro Arbeloa, Arturo Vidal, Michael Essien, Kun Aguero, Luka Modric, and Edin Dzeko. Arsenal has signed the likes of Steve Mandanda, Clint Dempsey, and Vincent Enyeama. Several of the bigger names on each team though are ineligible due to the squad rules, so that's a bit of a bummer.

  7. Messi plays for West Brom? Just, what?

Yeah, you heard right. I was just as surprised as you are. I can't make this up. I'll openly admit to cheating to give myself the finances to make it happen, but as I showed in my previous post, having him doesn't = wins. It's all about tactics, and against Wolves we didn't have the right tactics.

Me when I saw Messi agreed to sign for me: o_O, over the likes of Man City, Real Madrid, and AC Milan? This would NEVER happen!

  8. Usually throwing in a bit more in salary will get them to get off the highest earner clause. Though I've managed to get people to sign by removing the clause and not balancing it out.

Started a new game with West Brom, but I'll be honest I've cheated to give myself another 20-25 mil in the pot to sign players. This is also with the free agent (and no work permits) databases I made. I don't know how the hell I did it, but I got Lionel Messi to sign for me :D (I did not touch the reputation of the club, which stands at 5900). Paying him about 18 mil US a season, but he couldn't help enough for us to win our opener.

Lost to Wolves 1-0 despite dominating the game, we couldn't put any shots on target. Didn't help that the ref gifted Wolves a penalty, when Otamendi took Kevin Davies down in the box (I complained about the call in the post-match presser, FA was silent). Of course, Davies put the penalty away, and we lost. :(

Rebounded nicely with a 4-1 win @ Manchester United, who despite thrashing Fulham 8-0 in their first game are having pretty big injury problems.

Might start a LLM game without the free agent DB. Never tried managing in the Conference and I wanna actually try and play a game without cheating :P

    Current Lineup (4-2-4 variant)

    GK - Fernando Muslera

    DL - Gabriel Silva

    DCL - Benedikt Howedes

    DCR - Nicolas Otamendi

DR - Tomas Kalas (Haven't been able to get the best young right backs, but Kalas has potential)

    DMCR - Eyong Enoh

    MCL - Alan Patrick

    AML - Zezinho

    AMR - Keko

    STCR - Alexandre Pato

    STCL - Hulk

Injured: Lionel Messi (2-3 weeks with Twisted Knee suffered vs United), Ahmed Khalil (Fractured wrist in pre-season, will definitely miss our Carling Cup clash with Peterborough, but could be available for the next Premier League match)

  9. Full time all over the place...here's what we learned:

Blackpool are relegated despite going down fighting :crying:

Birmingham are relegated thanks to a late Pavlyuchenko goal.

Wolves lose AND win, as they are safe.

Wigan save themselves thanks to Hugo Rodallega.

Somen Tchoyi > Newcastle (At least, for today)

    I'm still a sad panda. :(

Absolute class from Old Trafford, United and Blackpool fans giving Ian Holloway a standing ovation as he leaves. Sir Alex on the mic praises Blackpool's effort today. Absolutely nothing to be ashamed of for the Tangerines all season, just gutted they could not stay up :(
