  1. They're back underway at Celtic Manor after another lengthy delay due to torrential rains. Tournament officials confirmed that the remaining fourball and foursomes matches will be the only matches completed today, with the 12 singles matches pushed back to monday, giving the Ryder Cup their first ever Monday finish. They will start at 9:05 am Wales time.

As for the play today, keep the European flags on the leaderboard for all 6 matches. USA have to turn this around and fast. They can start with the 3 matches that they are only 1 down in. Luke Donald/Lee Westwood are Dormie 6 over Tiger Woods/Steve Stricker with 6 to play, so that's a sure point for Europe.

  2. Play for saturday has ended with the foursomes matches still out on the course.

Europe leads in all 6 of the matches that will be finished on sunday before the singles.

USA leads in the points 6-4, but if things hold they will have a rough go of it to get 8 points in the singles to retain :(

  3. Reserved Gran Turismo 5 yesterday and picked up GTA IV on the cheap. Just not feeling it as much as I did with Saints Row 2, though I'm sure that'll change once I take a few days to get accustomed to the controls.

Must remind myself to set my alarm for 11 am on November 3rd :D

  4. We have a schedule change due to the rain and the long delays, in an effort to try and get a sunday evening finish.

The second session will be comprised of six foursomes matches.

The third session will be comprised of two foursomes matches and four fourballs matches.

These sessions will be followed by 12 singles matches.

That from ESPN's Jason Sobel. There won't be any players hidden for the rest of the competition. Everyone plays from session 2 on.

    Update: 7:04 PM Wales time

All the matches are done for the night. USA leads in two matches, Europe leads one, and one is all square.

  5. Play has resumed at Celtic Manor after being suspended at 4:45 AM EST, accounting for a 7+ hour rain delay. This is going to create a logjam of matches over the course of the competition.

    Current Standings

    Match 1: Westwood/Kaymer 2 up Mickelson/Johnson (Through 8)

    Match 2: Cink/Kuchar 1 up McIlroy/McDowell (Through 7)

    Match 3: Poulter/Fisher 1 up Woods/Stricker (Through 5)

    Match 4: B. Watson/Overton 2 up Donald/Harrington (Through 4)

The sun has finally come out in beautiful Wales, and it looks like we could get a little extra daylight to try and finish the fourball matches for today.

  6. Quite honestly I'm shocked that they're playing in this weather. If it's any event on the PGA Tour, I'm pretty sure they would have just told the players not to even bother to show up for any playing today.

If the morning matches are this much of a trainwreck with the weather, I dread what we're going to see in the afternoon session.

  7. Fourball is underway in a downpour at Celtic Manor. Here are the morning pairings as it rains sideways and the greens start to look borderline unplayable, even with the availability of squeegees.

    Match 1

Phil Mickelson/Dustin Johnson vs. Lee Westwood/Martin Kaymer

    Match 2

Stewart Cink/Matt Kuchar vs. Rory McIlroy/Graeme McDowell

    Match 3

Tiger Woods/Steve Stricker vs. Ian Poulter/Ross Fisher

    Match 4

Bubba Watson/Jeff Overton vs. Luke Donald/Padraig Harrington

Will the United States take the cup back with them, or will Europe find a way to seize the cup away from the Americans and keep it on European soil? Who ya' got?

  8. Looking forward to FM 11 indeed. I just hope they make the editor a little less time consuming to use. Maybe a quick team maker where you input whatever information you want for your club, then the editor does the rest based on that information. All you really end up having to do is place them in a league and adjust from there.

Anyway, my newest game with newly promoted side Al-Sailiya (Qatar) is not going well. Haven't played a match yet, but when your best signing is Nik Besagno, you're going to have problems. BIG problems. Just hoping that I don't get destroyed in my matches this season. :(

  9. I wonder if Rafa Benitez would accept the USA post... :shifty:

He's just signed with Inter Milan. So no.

Fair enough. Anyone else that might be interested in the US post should it come available? All I know is that I do NOT want Bob Bradley to still be the manager when the USA play their next game in a few months or whenever. (Y)

  10. A GOOD manager would have seen the threat that Gyan is. A GOOD manager wouldn't change the lineup around just for the sake of making changes. Bob Bradley is NOT a good manager. I hope Sunil Gulati & the rest of the US Soccer Federation finally realizes this and fires him. We need a mind like Jurgen Klinsmann or any of those other well known managers.

I wonder if Rafa Benitez would accept the USA post... :shifty:

  11. Bought it today and went online for the first time, playing as USA of course. First match against Algeria, was mauled 3-0 :(

In my defense, I felt the referee should have easily given me at least one, maybe two penalties. I kept wondering how this idiot was getting away with all the challenges he got away with. Hopefully my 2nd match online will go better.

Also started an offline World Cup with USA, had 2 points ripped away from me in the dying seconds against England. Last second corner goal from Gerrard to steal a draw even after I had fought back from going down 1-0 early. Altidore and Ching had my goals. Guess it's all a painful learning process. If anyone wants a free win against me sometime, add me on PSN. (Magus978)

Reasoning: None whatsoever. Just hate Liverpool. I enjoy seeing Rafa fail miserably, and I want to see more of it. Also dislike Newcastle, so here's hoping they go straight back down.

So much for whatever little credibility I had :D:shifty:

    FW - Charlie Davies

    FW - Eddie Johnson

    FW - Brian Ching

    FW - Robbie Findley

I'd do a 4-3-1-2 with an attacking mentality, because I feel if we're going to do anything in our group, we need to look for some quick goals then sit on it.

    Altidore --- Davies

    Donovan

    Dempsey --- Jones --- Bradley

    Bornstein --- Onyewu --- Bocanegra --- Cherundolo

    Howard

Probably would have Donovan act as an inside forward, Dempsey the main playmaker in midfield with Jones acting as a more defensive CM. England would probably tear that up, but I'm sure we could get wins against Slovenia & Algeria, thus getting us through to the last 16 on 6 points.
