I have no idea how this compares to the NFL, but there are a lot less penalties here compared to the CFL.

This was good / fun enough for me to come back. Will definitely try watching one game per week.

I'm a big CFL fan so if its comparable to that I'll happily watch.

It is. I just read an article (on a Knicks fan page I believe) where it suggested the Knicks were hoping to trade for him.

A trade would benefit both teams as Ujiri shouldn't be Raptors President after this season unless he signs an extension.

They want Ujiri from Toronto. Compensation should start at 10 first round picks imo.

I think you can do a monthly one too, not just a year.

Since over half the teams in the NBA make the playoffs, the NBA season really starts in April, and rivalries are built in the playoffs. This helps make those regular season match-ups more heated. 

It could turn out to be really short-sighted to do this when they should really be figuring out and fixing why flagship eastern franchises like the Knicks and Bulls are mediocre at best.

Also, the biggest money NBA Finals match-ups, as far as just teams go, is Celtics/Lakers, and if you end up with, say, and all Los Angeles (since everyone wants to play up the Clippers and I'm a homer) Finals because the Clippers beat the Celtics and the Lakers beat the Nets or whatever instead of Boston/LA, then how stupid do you look, because Clippers/Lakers isn't exciting to anyone.

The problem is bad ownerships in the East and a sport where, because one player can make such a difference, tanking is a proven strategy. Instead of a draft lottery, maybe you can have a consolation bracket for non-playoff teams and the winner of that gets the first pick, and lottery the rest, or award them somehow. Just changing who plays in the NBA Finals ain't gonna fix Jim Dolan.

My favourite proposed system for drafting is Wins Earned After Eliminated.

So if you are eliminated from playoff contention in February you're home fans will still want you to win. But bad teams still have the best chance at getting a higher pick.

It happened in hockey a few years ago when Buffalo fans cheered every time they lost.

I also would like teams eliminated in the first round of the playoffs to be included in the draft lottery process.

I hate useless reports like "Raptors will target Giannis in 2021." Of course they will. So will the other 29 teams.

Then again maybe the teams all ranked their top 8 QBs or whatever and the league will find a way to divvy it up.

Each coach has a list of 10 QBs they want. League is negotiating contracts with them. I was under the impression Landry Jones was one of the tier1 QBs

As someone who watches about a fight or two per year, tonight's Fury vs Wallin fight was a lot of fun.

Those are a lot better than many of the suggestions I've seen.

The picks OKC got could be very good. Houston could be bad by then.

I also think the Nuggets may take a step back in the West. I just could not buy them as legit contenders this year. And now the West appears to be stronger, I don't see them keeping up. They may be a 7 or 8th seed but I'm not a believer. Clippers, Blazers, Rockets, and Warriors are the teams to beat in the West I think. 

How done do you consider the Raptors?

I'm not saying they'll be a top seed, but unless they blow it up they will make the playoffs with their roster now.

Unless you meant as a legitimate title contender, then yes, they are done.

I don't know the NBA CBA nearly as well as the NHL's, but surely an injured player's salary does not count towards the cap. That would be ridiculous.

My wife has given me permission to go to the finals if the Raptors make it, so I'm praying it works out. I never made it to a Jays playoff game during their recent run and I feel the NBA finals could be a long time away after this year, so it may be my only chance.
